tab one: about me. | good morning, good afternoon, & good night. welcome to my lil' 1x1 search thread, and if this seems familiar, this is a repost. with the beginning of a new year and a hankering for more creative writing, i thought it'd be a good time to look for new writing partners again!
just a lil bit about myself: my name's venus, i'm 23 yrs old and an artist and writer still figuring out their life. i'm a big movie nerd, i love indie and rock music, i think about my ocs 24/7, and i swing wildly between writing thousands of words a day and barely writing anything for a month, but i love writing and i love being able to find new partners and jam out something fun together! disclaimer: please be patient with me. i have a job and am enrolled in college, and so real life can keep me busy sometimes and slow down my reply rate.
mainly, my favorite genres and types of plots to roleplay are action, drama, superpowers/metahumans, and supernatural/occult. i tend to use female mains, though i also do love having multiple characters in a plot. i am happy to do any pairings! as you can tell once you read through my plots, i looove romance in plots, so if shipping and romance isn't your jam, we probably won't vibe together. that doesn't necessarily mean i want fast burn shoehorned romance, but i'm a big sucker for slow burn and found family tropes, so yeah!
i will be v honest, i'm a bit of a slow writer! i can reply quickly and casually when we're ooc chatting and plotting out ideas, but writing actual roleplay replies can take time for me. there's times where i can reply once a day, there's times where i can only post one to three times a week (sometimes more, sometimes less, but i'll always communicate this with you.) irl life is usually busy for me, unfortunately. so yeah, if you haven't been scared off yet, please feel free to read the next three tabs to see my rules, interests, and plot ideas! and if you're interested, please pm me so i can keep this thread tidy. c:

human behavior. | #mindhunter #criminal minds #serial killers | when you stare into the abyss too long, it takes a part of you with it. working in the behavioral analysis unit of the fbi is grueling work, studying and investigating the minds of serial killers to anticipate and prevent their crimes from happening again, but it compels individuals like an aphotic zone, the morbid fascination of it all. a rookie agent and a long time member are partnered up to help investigate these crimes, and discover the possibility of something truly chilling.
a blood bond. | #murder #mystery #trauma-bonding | a hot humid summer back home leaves two prestigious boarding school students bored to death - quite literally. after committing an accidental murder ( "i swear it was self defense - i swear" ), the two share blood underneath their fingernails and swear to never tell a soul. one has a secret bloodlust, the other simply wants to keep them safe. soon, a letter arrives to their dorm. 'i know what you did.' (inspired by the secret history by donna tartt, and thoroughbreds [2017])
wasteland, baby! | #zombies #post-apocalypse #soulmates | hollowed out cities, war-torn wasteland, and blighted zombies. our muses are both surviving in a post-apocalyptic world, perhaps trying to escape from their own demons, or dictator-ruled compounds, looking for something out in the nothingness. maybe destiny has fated them to fight and survive for so long, only to finally meet each other. (meant to be a bittersweet romance survival plot, or even platonic soulmates. any pairing. inspired by TLOU.)
blindness. #royalty #generational curses #slow burn | building curses and learning to break them, together. one muse is the quiet, resigned immortal prince/ss of zephyr, a still and cold kingdom burdened with a yearly curse. they live in a routine of despair; a figurehead for the kingdom, their only source of hope to continue living every year, and their lamb sent to the slaughter. one year, however, our other muse begins to work in the castle and wonders what will it take to break through to them. (low effort royalty / fantasy, maybe some slow burn royal/guard or smthn romance oh yeah)

1. first and foremost, please be 18 or older! i'm an adult who would like to write with adults, nothing personal to the talented youngins here, but it's for my own personal comfort and because i like exploring more mature themes through rp.
2. any type of bigotry is absolutely unacceptable. it makes me sad that i even have to clarify this. but, i am a person of color and part of the lgbt+ community, and so any homophobia, transphobia, racism, prejudice, etc will not be tolerated here. miss me with that shit.
3. be able to chat ooc with me! messages that are simply "i'd like to rp x and y" with no intro or any info about your interests and preferences aren't super encouraging. i really love being able to casually endlessly discuss plotting, world building, and especially our characters with each other. i love being able to make moodboards, playlists, pinterest boards, etc for our characters. i don't like us interacting when its strictly about rping, i honestly want us to be friends! if i feel like we're not compatible, or can't have a conversation, i most likely won't be interested. i also tend to prefer chatting over discord (and rp over rpn preferably), feel free to ask me about that!
4. as you can probably already tell, i'm quite the casual person ooc. but my writing is in 3rd person, and my replies vary from 300+ to 1500+ words, which means no one liners please! if you're happy to write at least 300 words or more for replies (a couple of paragraphs, give or take), we'll get along nicely. i only use irl face claims or written descriptions (any artistic fcs i'll ever use would be my own art). i might ask for writing samples, and i am happy to provide writing samples as well.
