My Interest Check
Hiya, all.

I have an group rp idea that I'd like to advertise a little more to see if there's any interest in it, but I've noticed that the Off-Site Ads isn't exactly active in terms of viewers, as opposed to every other area of advertisement.

I am aware of Disboard and its many success stories, but with their system being so painfully slow lately, it may even take a month before my server has gone through review.

Are there perhaps any other platforms that are good for advertising Discord rp groups? I'm even considering going back to GaiaOnline to see if I'll have any luck there.

Thanks in advance!

Disboard and the right tags can net you a certain amount of success (such as tagging literate, rp, roleplay, and other genres which line up your rp), and can and will build you a smaller base of writers to collaborate with.

Writing Hubs (on both Discord and Disboard) can also be another effective way to advertise; essentially one big online community with differing rp categories/ideas for writers to interact with and pick from.

Partnerships — much like the above, but you’re partnering with more personal servers with a more mutual exchange. Though, if you’re smaller, some servers may opt out of partnering with you.

But the biggest success in advertising a discord group/server idea/want is consistency, the ability to be present and show you’re more than willing to be there for the foreseeable month. I like discord as a writing platform and collaboration platform, more so with the latter, but rps on discord can start off strong but once the spark fades, so does the group, etc. To combat this, being present and communicative will definitely strike people into joining.
