The Lord of Lies and Half-Truths
You are part of a caravan that travels around the world selling their wares, mostly salves, potions, knickknacks, an odd weapon here or there, living in the moment and enjoying yourself with all of your other comrades. Most of the people in the caravan are expatriates, exiles, the odd ones out or the undesirables who were kicked out. Although, admittedly, there are some who willingly joined out of a desire for adventure, a chance to see the world and become stinkin' rich, to be quite honest. It is oddly pleasant living out your days with friends from the road, visiting many different locales, meeting many more people than you would have ever thought and just enjoying things.
However, all this changes when the Caravan leader decides to accept a request from his old acquaintance the King of Leinster to find his missing daughter, the second princess Alkyra. She was last seen with a man that had a checkerboard cloak at Old Alfric, a port city owned by House Aelfraed. Now you must travel all across the globe face all the dangers a trade caravan suffers from all the while trying to find the princess.

Men have existed alongside the many other races of the world since time immemorial. They are the most numerous of the races for they can adapt to almost any environment. Thus, the other races are usually considered the minority in any given land. In ancient times, human kingdoms were much weaker and smaller than they are today. However after the fall of the Jolani Empire, they quickly grew to become one of the most dominant powers on Greater Hearth. They expanded their borders until they had encompassed the entire world. And as all other great empires, this new Human Empire was torn apart by inner strife after the wars had ended. They split into two distinct groups, the Askar Korlan led Kormen and the Basilieus Occita led Occitanians. After centuries of war they eventually signed a peace treaty that finally ushered in a new age of prosperity. Even after the defeat at the hands of the humans the Dwarves, Elves and Jolani still stay on friendly term with them.
Dwarves

The strong, stout people of the mountain holds of old now live among humans. The human kingdoms had expanded very quickly and aggressively conquered all in their path. The dwarves were no exception as kingdom after kingdom fell to the humans, many dwarves escaped Greater Hearth to the eastern continent which the called Lesser Hearth. There they created a new nation called The Oran, aptly named after their council of dwarven lords. They are probably the only dwarves who actively hate and scorn the humans.
Elves

The tall, slender and beautiful people of the forest were never a major power in world. They had always maintained a peaceful disposition when it came to diplomacy and only ever taking up arms in the most of direst times. After the fall of the Human Empire, they also split into two groups. The traditionalists, the Zen Elves, who follow the old ways of peace and harmony live in Valoron, a theocracy with a heavy emphasis on inner perfection. The ones who claim have suffered the worst at the hands of the humans, the Bushi Elves follow a strict code of honor called Bushido and live on an island on the border between the Ventro and Cerulean seas. They are currently at war with human nation called Ruthenia.
Jolani

They are the ones who came before all the others. They are a race of powerful lizardmen who conquered or colonized most of the world and are credited with being the ones who nurtured the other races. Now, they only inhabit the desert lands to the south and the arid country of Rumelia. Although there are some communities living in the Greater Hearth they are very few and far between.
