This is the most active roleplay (that I didn't run myself) I've been part of in YEARS. Once we've straightened out how each character will contribute to an adventuring group, we'll be good to go.

We can talk a little bit - I have work in the morning so I won't be up for much longer, but I'm happy to offer a few ideas.

That'd be fun! Since most of us seem to be mechanically inclined I was leaning towards like, searching for tech caches but I'm not sure that makes sense

Well, when you say "search for tech cache", what I hear in the subtext is "tech cache location unknown".

Is it unknown because it was abandoned? Hidden? Forgotten? Maybe the three countries only get along superficially, and someone - a discontented military leader, perhaps - is planning a mutiny and has hid a secret stash of military technology that they plan to use to start a war. Maybe a team of engineers traveling got into trouble, and we have to recover their work that was left behind in the attack, and perhaps save what's left of the engineers while we're there. Maybe the tech cache is from a civilization that predates all currently known races - maybe something along the lines of the first Jak & Daxter game, or the Eridians from Borderlands.

Or it could be something kind of wacky like "The marriage of the goddess of magic and the god of technology has resulted in the discovery of faster-than-light space travel and now we're dealing with fantasy steampunk alien invasions" which, now that I think about it, sounds an awful lot like "Someone at the festival accidentally opened a steampunk stargate portal to hell"

That's what I was actually thinking. Find dungeons with loot caches of old-new tech.

But hmmm.... Some of those other ideas sound fun
