Fandom Adventures in Harbor View (Steven Universe RP. Accepting, need some more humans/neutral gems, not started yet)

[Starry Night Smol]

ℒong ago, when the earth was young, Pink Diamond was given the planet to create a gem colony. Unfortunately for the Diamond Authorities a group of rebels formed to fight for Earth's right to remain a free planet. These rebels, led by the compassionate Rose Quartz, became known as the Crystal Gems. The great war lasted many years, but the Crystal Gems succeeded in maintaining Earth's freedom. Very few Crystal Gems survived. Rose and the remaining gems found settlement in a place that would become known as Beach City.

But, Steven, Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst do not have a definite place in our story. No, our story focuses on a band of Gems a few states over in Harbor View City. These other gems intent on helping keep the Harbor View humans safe from corrupted gem creatures that have wreaked havoc in the nearby area. They have banded together to help keep the peace of the world and have assisted Rose and her comrades since the end of the war on Earth. These Gems are call themselves the Seaside Gems, their base is disguised as a high bluff, restricted from human access. The base itself was hidden deep inside the earth, opening as a cave on the edge of the sea. Here, the Seaside Gems keep a lookout on Harbor View and its nearby areas. Led by Emerald, the Seaside Gems maintained peace and fought off any gem-anomalies that surfaced in and around Harbor View City. Gems who were able to interact with humans were careful to hide who they were. At least to most humans, some gems were just other people with possible skin conditions and really cool piercings. Other humans actually became close friends with the Gems and figured out that they weren't exactly from earth.

In present day, the Seaside Gems have realized that strange things have been happening to earth. After another skirmish with homeworld Gems, more corrupt gems and shards have surfaced from various hiding places in the Kindergardens. Seaside Gems have had their work cut out for them, battling more monsters and keeping tabs on Homeworld Gems that have made their way to the city.

So, who are you in all of this?

General Info and Rules​

Before you begin your roleplaying experience here, there are a few things you might want to know. I am the moderator of this roleplay, and will add/adjust/remove rules as I see fit. Throughout the roleplay, I will also step in if I believe something is getting out of hand. I may appoint additional moderators as the rp progresses.

Genre and Character Types ​

This roleplay is inspired by Steven Universe. I have removed the Crystal Gem Canon Characters from our plot points because I am trying to steer clear of using Canon Things in my rp. Not everything will work just like it does in the show, since our story focuses on a different group of gems in a different city. It's going to be a slice of life, drama, action, fantasy, romance........... in all honesty it's gonna be just about everything kind of roleplay. XD

That being said, this IS a pretty open-minded roleplay! Make your character as goofy or as extravagant as you want! They can be Seaside Gems, Homeworld Gems, Humans, or a mix of human and gem! It is also totally okay to have a plain normal person, too. Heck, they might not even have a clue about the gems and that's okay!

As far as plot, I will create events and battles as I see necessary to spice things up, but I would love for all of us to plot together on the direction this roleplay takes :> Maybe we have a war between the homeworld and seaside gems. Maybe they band together to defeat an even bigger bad.

RULES​

1. I'm top mod. I'll add other mods as needed.
2. Follow all RpN rules and TOS
3. Minimum posting length is 1-2 paragraphs. Post past tense, third person with good grammar when at all possible.
4. Post at least once a week.
5. Posting Layout: Minimum, include name and image of character. Don't use bright or too light of colors. Other than that, have fun :>
6. Inactive for more than 7 days without notifying me, I will put your character in limbo to free anyone who may be stuck waiting on your reply. Please tell me if you know you're going to be gone for awhile so I can let others know in advance.
7. If you drop the rp, PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME. I'll be cool with it, I just need to make sure others can continue to play w/o waiting on ya.
8. Give your characters some well-thought-out pasts and junk.
9. You can have a permafusion character (like Garnet) or fuse yours and another rp-er's character(s). Talk to each other in the OOC thread, notify me, then work together to fill out the Fusion Profile Form & send it my way.
10. Send reservations BEFORE sending full profiles. Fill out the Reservation profile (I use these to create an at-a-glance list of characters) and PM reservations titled: "Harbor Dog".
11. Send full profiles titled: "Summer Swimming".

Located on one of the furthest points in Harbor View, the Lighthouse is a popular place for picnics and scenic daycations. Humans and Gems alike use this scenic view. It's said that it's also the home of a certain secret club sponsored by two very mischievous twins...

A stretch of land along the beach, it has loads of shops and even a little amusement park at the end of the pier. The Boardwalk holds lots of festivals and parties to help liven up Harbor View throughout the year.

It's the Harbor View coffee shop. This coffee shop is on the boardwalk along with a smattering of other shops. Brewed Awakening has freshly roasted coffee, home-made sweets and savories, plus live music every friday and sunday night.

One of the favorite restaurants on the Boardwalk. Just in Thyme serves diner-like food, and some of the best homemade thyme stuffed turkey breast you've ever had. Food's fairly inexpensive and quite delicious!

Known mostly to the Seaside Gems, this is their sacred base that is disguised as the huge bluffs to the west of Harbor View. Access is restricted to most humans, unless they've unwittingly stumbled upon the territory. Gems do their best to ward off humans unless it's one of their friends who knows just what the Gems are. The Seaside Gems enter through a hidden tunnel on the very top of the bluff disguised as a turtle-shaped rock known as Tortuga Hill. Once inside, the gems follow one of many paths in order to get to the commons within the base: A grotto that overlooks the sea to the north.

A cluster of houses that are located close to the beach and the boardwalk. Many humans take up residence here. The little community is usually very friendly toward their neighbors. Just watch out for the Home Owner's Association. If something's not up to code you'll be sure to hear about it!

The fanciest restaurant in Harbor View. It sits atop the highest point in the city, and reservations have to be booked days in advanced. The food is definitely more expensive, but it's got a beautiful evening view! The bistro overlooks all of Harbor View and its picturesque evening view.

Just to the east, by the lighthouse, lies a deep wooded forest that backs up to a mountain range. Known as the Perk Mountains, the forests below are heavily wooded and filled with flora and fauna alike. A great place for camping, as well as a day trip to wander.

And of course, there's the Harbor View City beach. The bright blue waters stretch for miles alongside the soft sandy shores. The miles of shoreline are home to various activities; volleyball, tidepools to find shells, sandcastle contests, and so much more.
