Looks like it so far might only be you two, which is extremely fine; I made the limit 3 people because to me that’s a great closed cast that’s not too bloated. We might get a third, and we might not, but either way that’s fine.

I don’t have much of a set idea for a character, but all I know is that, in the spirit of Steven Spielberg, I will be playing a Jew. The villains are nazis, and I’m feeding them into a paper shredder. It’s 1930bad. That’s the only logical response. I’m thinking the more intellectual role, but I’m willing and happy to take the more punchy role, should that be needed.

Vehicles *could* be an issue, since you’d have to find viable ways of transport for the same vehicle over time due to the globetrotting aspect, but if that sounds like a good idea that Damnit I’m all in

A mechanic/pilot type sounds great! We don’t see many of those nowadays. I think the closest I can think of in the genre is Jock, the pilot on-screen for like three seconds in Raiders of the Last Ark

Yeah I figured I'd play him as a mix of Jock and Jonathon from the Mummy movies. Anytime something supernatural happens he's gonna want to bug out, anytime something shiny pops up he'll try and snatch it, and anytime a cliche goes down you can bet your ass he'll point it out.

do yall know about the Jewish Labor Bund? well, they were neat, but relevantly, they organized self-defense training for Jews to fight against Tzarist pogroms, as well as to push back against the stereotype of Jews as weak, and plenty of partisans in world war two were Bundists. (Grammarly attempted to change Bundist to bandit. hmmm.)
I'm thinking one of these dudes, an immigrant to America from Lithuania, who fled in the aftermath of the civil war with his family. Shmuel ben Channon, or Sammy Hanson. Rubberworker. and he's making a trip out west in order to be there at angel island when some cousins cross over. Sammy's a strong guy, but he's not the silent type. He recently participated in the sitdown and picket strike in Akron, Ohio, at the Goodyear tire factory. i dunno. is this ok for you?

Any character that has the historical events of their time worked into their biography is an interesting character by default. It's the events that transpire around people that build who they are, that's the reality of it. Plus, it gives readers something to research (the Labor Bund in this case). Excited to see the complete story of Mr. Hanson when it's all written out.

Woah, yes please! Not only did you give a reason for being around at the start of the story, but all of these incredibly historical beats (all of which I didn’t know about) are wonderful storytelling!

members of my family came over through angel island, my family primarily was from Lituania and Poland, and some of them were Bundists. i dont have any family in the old country anymore, of course. but I'm still an angry commie jew. and i like telling stories that arent mine but could have been. Sammy's been educated in the Jewish tradition, and though he isnt so observant, a little magic and mysticism would always be nice. and I get to curse in Yiddish, Lithuanian, polish, Russian, and German, as well as English with him.

Wow, that’s actually a really nice aspect for the character. I always find it helpful when I can relate to things in people I play. I’m even more stoked to get this going than before!
I’m still ironing some possible story beats, but I’ll try and get a character sheet thread up by tonight

Would a rogue type character be a good addition? If Angry has the scholar type down, and Bronco has the mechanic/pilot, then would a rough and shady character fit? (I have like two other ideas if not)

im going for the more scholarly type i think, especialy if this macguffin is rooted in jewish folklore. but yeah, he's certainly able to knock a could of nazi teeth out in a hit or two. a rough and shady dude wont be clashing with Sammy's role at all! and im glad we'll have you!
