I’d like to do a Final Fantasy-styled roleplay with someone. When I say ‘styled’, I don’t mean fandom or any variation thereof. You don’t have to know what Final Fantasy even is, but you’ll appreciate this roleplay much more if you do. I usually take inspiration from installments 7, 8, 13, and 15. However, the story and world would be our, unique thing. I do have a few ideas ready to be pitched, of course, but your contributions are equally important. So, I’ll make a list of what I considered to be a ‘Final Fantasy-styled’ roleplay:
However, there are a few things that I have issues with. One of them is favoritism. If I notice that I’m your fifth partner and you have some long, established, internet-love thing going on with someone, I’ll kindly ask to disregard this partner search. Words cannot describe how much I dislike this aspect of forums and roleplaying. Another thing is passivity. You are ‘passive’ when you only react or respond. Those who are passive never ask questions or show initiative of any kind, and never act in roleplaying. It contradicts what roleplaying is about. With a passive partner, you might as well write a book on your own.
That being said, I use a lot of visuals and sometimes music for roleplays. I try to make it as immersive as possible. I don’t care whether you’re male or female in real life, it’s all the same to me. My line of work requires me to be very open-minded and understanding, so I’ll gladly listen to anything you want to say, and I never judge even if someone holds opinions opposite to mine. I’ve also done a couple of these kinds of roleplays on other forums, mostly in groups, with varying success.
I hope to hear from someone. Do send me a private message if you’re up for all this. As you can probably tell, this will require some time and investment.
- There is a cast of four to six characters. This means that we’d play at least two characters each. I’ve strayed quite far away from the one-writer, one-character formula.
- There are God-like beings that can be summoned by the characters, that the characters can transform into, or that function as companions. There are many different variations here, which we can discuss.
- The technology of the world is modern to futuristic and based on geographical location, either nation to nation or city to rural difference.
- There is some kind of magic at play, common usage. How it is expressed and what its source is can be discussed.
- The story typically has a journey that involves all the characters somehow. This, of course, isn’t exclusive to Final Fantasy, but I’d like to include it nonetheless.
