Multiple Settings (Adv / Lit) { The Big Book of Gay Grimm Tales : An Odd Search for and Oddball [MxM] Concept / Challenge }

Total Ace Case
Welcome!

So, I'm terrible at introductions, and in order to make this a bit more quick, I highly encourage anyone interested in this to please check out my other search thread to know who I am and what I look for in both my roleplays and my partners. Unfortunately, I'm not taking any new partners from that thread for the time being, simply because of the amount of roleplays I've got going right now. If I wasn't somewhat itching to try this, I'd probably not be looking for anything new at all right now.

Anyhow, this is a bit of a bizarre idea that's been sitting on my mind since its conception and it's gotten to a point where I'm very tempted to try it out. Enough so, apparently, to dedicate a whole search thread to it. So, for those of you who were hooked by the title or just want to listen to the ravings a madwoman's strange idea, here's the entire concept behind The Big Book of Gay Grimm Tales :

So, this is mostly just an idea for a fun series of shorter roleplays. I figured it might be a bit of an interesting challenge since I typically always do long term styled roleplays, pretty much all of which never have seemed to survive long enough to reach a conclusion. No joke, one of my favorites has been ongoing for 4 or 5 years now. Anyway, onto the premise :

You ever wonder what the The Wolf and the Seven Kids would look like if it was a spy drama? You ever think it would be fun to see a re-invention of Cinderella as a supernatural action that takes place after 'happily ever after'? You ever think it would be interesting to delve into lesser known tales, such as the Juniper Tree, and figure out the question of 'How on this good, green Earth can I possibly make this work as gay as possible'? Then man, do I have a proposal for you.

The whole idea here is that the two of us will be re-imagining as many Grimm's Fairy Tales as we can, each with their own twists and remixes on the story. Most prominently of which, all of these tales will have an element of gay romance, even stories that typically don't have romance elements (for example: Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Hansel and Gretel, etc.). From there, we may also include genre shifts, shifts in perspective or direction, and/or some form of odd twist such as making it a sequel to the original tale. For added fun, we will randomize the genre, the setting, and/or the twist every time we start a new one and work together to try and find a way to make it work. In this way, we may be presented with concepts we never would have thought of otherwise.

A bit of disclosure, though I am looking at making these more smaller in scale than most roleplays that I do, I would prefer we not rush to the finish every time. I am more than perfectly content with some of these stories lasting months on end, if need be, so we can at least take time to enjoy the characters and the new stories and worlds that we build. I'm not looking to have Red Riding Hood do the whole routine, hook up with the wolf 'cuz gay romance' and be done with it. More like getting to know these reinvented versions and using the story as a platform to create something fun and unique. And gay.

Really quickly, some standalone rules for this one that I typically never felt the need to write out before :
> No underage characters will be part of the romance! I'm sorry, it just plain rubs me the wrong way. If we're using characters that were originally underage, I must insist that they be aged up for me to be comfortable with that.
> For stories that include giants or small creatures, I'd prefer the romance not be with them unless they somehow can become normal sized (or if the person they are romancing is the same size). I know some people are into that sort of thing, but it's just not mine, if I'm honest. So, I apologize. Unless you have a good idea to suggest how it could work, Jack x Giant is not likely a pairing you'll see.
> I reiterate, no anthros / furries. Since animals are very prominent in fairy tales, I just felt the need to repeat myself. Small details and variations such as tails, ears, and eyes are fine.
> You gotta be someone who loves to talk OOC and actively work with me when it comes to worldbuilding with this one! Half the fun is seeing what ideas we both can pitch together. I simply don't want to be doing all the leg work. I'm not asking you write a thesis, simply that you're willing to put in some effort and creativity, and just plain have fun with it. Please, I encourage everyone to try and have fun by thinking outside the box. Considering the ridiculous title, I'm sure you can imagine that I'm not one to judge strange ideas.
>Despite the title of this, I'm also open to fairy tales outside of just those found in the Grimm's Fairy Tales collection.
> Be patient. Normally, I don't have to put this, but this is just as much a reminder to me as it is to you. We need to make sure we aren't going to be rushing these stories. I feel like it simply won't be as fun if we just race from ending to ending. I want to be able to enjoy these bizarre creations. By the end of it, if we did our jobs right, we should be missing them when the book's finally been closed on their chapter.

Sidenote : As an artist, I'd love to do some drawings based on some of the outcomes and characters we come up with. If you would prefer whether or not I share them, do please let me know.

With the premise out of the way, I have one more trick up my sleeve for this one. You see, I already have a few roleplays going on and it simply would not be fair to them and those that are participating in this if I try juggling too much and end up burning myself out. As such, I'm only going to be looking for 1 or 2 new partners on this one. 3 if I can't help myself. So, at the risk of sounding pretentious or scaring a bunch of people away, I would prefer if anyone interested humor me here with a bit of a quick challenge. The primary purpose of which is to tell me that A) You bothered to read this. I mean, kudos. I'm a chatterbox. And B) You're willing to put in the effort and creativity. The pitch may not necessarily be what we go with if you'd prefer we choose a different tale.

If you want to catch my eye when you reply, choose a Fairy Tale listed below (Despite the name of this thread, I'm actually open to fairy tales of all kinds, so I included a column of non-Grimm tales), and then, using a random generator (or dice if you're feeling a tad extra nerdy), have that generator pick out a Time Period, Primary Genre, Secondary Genre, and, if you're feeling adventurous, a quirk. With those results, pitch me a quick concept. As much as I adore detail, so long as the concept itself is strong and interesting, I don't mind the length. I'll gladly choose a very unique and fun pitch that's only a couple sentences over a very cliche pitch that's a whole paragraph.

I figure I'll keep this thread open for about a week or so. For all I know, it'll be a total flop, but I figured it'd be worth it to throw it out there.

Still, gay stuff is cute.

Whoa I'm interested! These all look cool but especially Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and Little Red Riding Hood.
