Some random dude on the Internet
Act 1: The New Champions
Chapter 1: The Man from The Dream

Ethan and Saila Forrster
Location: The Battered Steed
Action: Looking for Someone
Interaction: Open

Ethan and Saila looked around in the town of Festa, looking for a Tavern by the name of The Battered Steed. They asked the locals about where the Tavern would be, and got directions there. When they entered it was, interesting to say the least. The Tavern was filled with Shadowy figures, though the man they were looking for wasn't there. So they decided to wait, and sat down at a table near the back end of the room. They certainly stood out, firstly it's not every day you see a Knight and second, Mages don't usually venture away from their Towers and academies. Ethan looked as emotionless as possible, and was meditating in silence when his sister spoke.

"When do you think he'll arrive?"
"I don't know."
"Are you sure you can't look into the future with your magic?"
"Yes, Only those who are devoted to Alasis can see into the future with their Future Sight, though only few are allowed to be oracles."
"Awwww.... Darn... Oh! A waitress is coming!"
"Hello, may I get you two anything?"
"Um... I'll take some ale, my brother doesn't drink so if you have water that'd be great!"
"Hmph."
"Sure thing."

The waitress walked off to tell the bartender their order, and Saila was busy looking around while her Brother was Channeling his mana for the day.

Johnathan Edward Weiss
The Battered Steed

"Master, go there. It's hot outside."
Johnathan Edward Weiss was on his horse when the orb he carried around with him spoke to him. "Why the hell would I do that? I don't have business there........and stop calling me master."
"Because, like I said, it's hot outside. I need some Ice Water."
"You're an orb."
"No I'm not! I will die if I don't keep cool..........also, isn't this the place that you said has been in your dreams for a while? The Battered Steed, right?"
Johnathan sighed. Clearly this orb was exaggerating about dying. Why did this orb need cold water? Still, it had a good point about the Battered Steed. Weird how he ended up here. Was it his subconscious? "I'll see what this place is about and hopefully I'll find out why it was in my dreams." He pulled over and tied up his horse, then entered the tavern, orb in hand. He was immediately greeted by a waiter and took a seat at a table near the back, as most the other tables were full
When his water came, he snapped his fingers and cast an ice spell on the cup. The water got a thin layer of ice at the top. Cracking the top, he plopped the orb inside.
"AAAhhhhhh Yea," The orb said, apparently enjoying the feeling.
John put his head down. He'd look like a crazy man for talking to an orb. The orb did enhance his Ice Magic though, so why the hell not repay it back. It was crazy and made him look psychotic, but he wasn't a bad guy.

Astaroth - The Black Titan
Location: The Battered Steed
Action: Grabbing A Drink
Interaction: Open

This land was strange to this the large warrior, it's shape was different from the shifting sands of his previous years or the wild, unkempt north. The land had small hills and flatten land so the travelling was much easier in comparison. The Gladiator held his weapon firmly in hands as he traveled towards a tavern, breath heavy as he walked forward which lead to him arrive in a near by town in which he arrived infront of a tavern... The Battered Steed.... Let's hope something was interesting inside and a good drink, he had a feeling that this place was a interesting place and one of a kind as well so he was certain there was something to lead him to arrive in this place.

Entering the tavern, many figures eyes locked onto him which he clenched his greatsword in hand which made some of the eyes back-off that the he went toward to the counter and asked for a keg. He could drink kegs upon kegs for victory nights and his victory was being free from slavery, the hefty freak of nature sat down only for the chair to break under his weight that cause him to growl lowly to himself which he was forced to stand and he was given his keg of mead. Nodding, the barbarian pick up the keg and looked around which his eyes went back and forth between people. This warrior was called Astaroth and he was a run-away slave..... A heavy burden for someone like him.

While others seemed to just be arriving, another had managed to find her way a bit earlier on. Much like the half orc berserker she had managed to draw attention to herself upon entering albeit at perhaps a much less harsh manor. Many of the gazes had seemed to be more so second glances of confusion seeing an animal eared girl and then further realizing it was a lycan. Her kind wasn't something seen around in society practically at all being very reclusive from the world living in the wilds in various tribes. They were far more primitive in their lifestyle with things such as writen languages practically nonexistent with clothing that was much more 'bare bones'. Acacia seemed to be clothed rather nicely in a elegant grey dress. A tome hung off her backside in what appeared to be a book of spells.

It had been nearly an hour since she had arrived and she had established a small group of tavern patrons around her. A drink rested in her hands as she was already a little bit tipsy seemingly celebrating with some of the people who had been earlier questing her being there. Who knew a bit of bragging could get a bunch of shady looking guys to have no problem sharing a drink with you? Truthfully while she thought it was just her personality. Truthfully it had likely been her physical appearance in both body shape as well as seeming wealth that had garnished them to be quick to embrace her in with most likely less savory intentions. None the less, a few drinks tended to work wonders in lightening the mood and simply making it a little festive hangout for now with the most outrageous tempted deed being to try and whittle some coin from Acacia's pockets... something she had given into a little to buy some drinks for the men.

"... and that's just one example of how I managed to come out ahead in my trials in the mage tower. I might of been in a bit of a bind to start with, but still I pulled ahead and still managed to show them all up with some quick thinking and wit," She spoke being a bit embellishing in her story. and stretching the truth a little to make herself sound better while keeping her whole 'underdog' theme. Drinking and seemingly having so much attention tended to make her a bit more 'braggy' then she usually could be... or at least more obnoxious with it. It tended to be her way of trying to combat her own lack of confidence at times. It made her feel so much better in herself with a little booze and people willing to really accept you and admire what you could do. She smiled taking another swig smiling happily.

"You guys are great, I dun care what that guy said when I tried finding this place. I knew as soon as I found out this town exists and this place existed in my dream that I was right for trying to head this way and really seeing it through! Even if it was a lil crazy to follow some weird vision thingy trying to get to this place and find some guy from my dreams I knew deep down it was the right thing to do, even if all I get outa this little journey is being able to have a nice drink with you all!" The dog girl spoke as her ears remained lifted up as she lifted her drink up in the air to cheer as she didn't in the least bit seem to know how to keep her voice down.

Johan's journey to the mystical pub was a rather long and confusing one, having never left the mountainous and desert biomes of the vast land he inhabited, he wasn't quite familiar with where to go and was often anxious of where he was headed. However his dreams and the constant asking for directions from locals finally led him to the mysterious pub. He entered behind a man of considerable stature, he was hidden behind him and walked in his shadow.

Without giving it any real thought, he had ended up following the large purple man, standing about a foot shorter than him. He didn't really pay it any mind, as he was used to being shorter than those in the tribe, Desertcrawlers often stood at a similar height on average. He ended up standing next to the man while he surveyed the bar from the counter, so many different people, so many different new voices and smells. Frankly, it was a bit overwhelming at first, with Johan's senses being slightly sharper than most from years of hunting and stakeouts. However, he could hear rather clearly the ramblings of a young woman surrounded by a group of what seemed to be happy and friendly men with only good intentions in mind!

Johan, deciding it could be a good chance to strike up conversation with the man next to him, jumped at the opportunity.

"Huh see that? C-crazy crowd right?" he said raspily, while giving the man a nudge with his elbow.

He wasn't really afraid of the man because he didn't really understand social hierarchy or prejudices. So he wasn't one to judge on appearances considering he had technically been the outcast or the odd one out for most of his life. Although, he did regret that his first words to someone of another race came out in such a nervous and uncool fashion, he cleared his throat to follow up on his statement and introduce himself but his attention was drawn once again to the drunk girl shouting her delusions.

"You guys are great, I dun care what that guy said when I tried finding this place. I knew as soon as I found out this town exists and this place existed in my dream that I was right for trying to head this way and really seeing it through! Even if it was a lil crazy to follow some weird vision thingy trying to get to this place and find some guy from my dreams I knew deep down it was the right thing to do, even if all I get outa this little journey is being able to have a nice drink with you all!"

He immediately made his way over out of sheer curiosity, he wasn't one to believe in coincidences, and he knew this reoccurring dream was not one either so for someone to mention something so vividly similar drew him in rather quickly. He signaled the large purple man over for some backup, he didn't want to crash the little party they had going on at the table without some backup, and the big guy seemed like a good party crasher for some reason []. Once he reached the table, unaware if whether the big guy followed or not, he tapped the girl on the shoulder. But soon he realized he had made a fatal miscalculation, it was the first time he'd ever spoken to a female that wasn't a giant lizard with fangs, and on top of that she was gorgeous! Nervousness overtook him and he realized couldn't get the words out of his throat and slowly his face progressed to a shade of purple close to the man that he spoke to recently as he held his breath. Soon enough he had held his breath for long enough for it to make him light-headed. The words came out in one loud run on sentence.

"SO I heard that you had a dream and that dream like sounded pretty similar to like my dream and I was wondering when you had that dream and if you could tell me more about it and also I dont think its too crazy because I had a dream like that too with a hooded man and it like drew me here and I think it might be fate who knows right HAHA!"

He took a couple of breaths after that, his face returning to it's normal tan shade, his cheeks still flushed he looked at the girl waiting for an answer. It might've been rather intrusive of him which made him worry even more, but he needed to know if it wasn't just a drunkards nonsense he heard.
Before he could forget his manners which were drilled into him as a child, he added in.

"I'm Johan by he way. Pleasure to meet you." this time in a more calm tone

Akam hadn't expected to find The Battered Steed so easily. For how much trouble finding Festa was, as she'd only ever been to the entire kingdom of Nortis once, finding a tavern so quickly was a refreshing change of pace. She had been there for about half an hour, listening to the ramblings of some dog chick from a couple tables over and finally decided that her "secret identity" wasn't even a secret and started on a glass of wine.

Eventually, the dog girl mentioned a dream. She didn't think much of it, the girl was clearly quite drunk, but things picked up when a man with a covered eye came over to converse.

Johan said:
"SO I heard that you had a dream and that dream like sounded pretty similar to like my dream and I was wondering when you had that dream and if you could tell me more about it and also I dont think its too crazy because I had a dream like that too with a hooded man and it like drew me here and I think it might be fate who knows right HAHA!"

"Wait... what?" she muttered under her breath? Two people sharing a dream was a fun coincidence, sure, but three was just unheard of. She stood up and walked closer to the table with the dog girl and the man who had just introduced himself as Johan as not to disturb their conversation, hoping to figure out what was going on.

And then decided to disturb their conversation regardless.

"Hey, ah, excuse me but did you both also have the same recurring dream with the hooded guy and the shadow people? The hell?"

Lorelei Valkas

Eavesdropping on: Hanarei Hanarei TekSoda TekSoda and Croissant Croissant
‘What a weird place to discover your destiny.’ Lorelei thought as she stood in front of The Battered Steed’s door. It looked pretty shady to her and couldn’t understand why her dreams brought her here, but hey, who was she to question fate? Thankfully, fate didn’t take her too far, and the trip wasn’t too much of a hassle as she expected. With a deep breath, Lorelei pushed through the doors and entered the tavern. As expected everyone looked super suspicious, and the atmosphere made her more nervous than she already was.

Lorelei tightens her grip on her satchel handle and looked around cautiously. She sincerely wished the potions on her belt jingled ever so lightly and brought more attention to herself. ‘Come on Lorelei toughen up! You came from Vorgl for Adra sake, and that place was awful!’ Lei thought this to herself with a gulp before finding a seat at a table in the furthermost, darkest corner she could find. This place was a worrywart’s nightmare, and she prayed the shadowy figure would appear sooner than later. To pass the time and distract herself from her current predicament, Lei pulled out her notebook and proceeded to write.

As the hero walked into the tavern, she could feel all eyes on her. She knew instantly that these fellas were from the bad side of town and prepared for the worst. The hero sat at a table in the middle of the bar with no care or worries in the world. Before she could order, a hooded man approached her and-

Lorelei’s train of thought was interrupted by a dog lady who was yelling about a dream. At first, she assumed it was just a crazy drunk lady who wanted attention. However, the dream she spoke about was way too similar to Lei’s. ‘That can’t be a coincidence.’ Lorelei thought and stood up from her seat. She carefully and quietly proceeded to the commotion to listen in.

Ethan was suddenly intrigued when somebody began speaking about a dream, a dream detailing this place and a mysterious figure. Suddenly other folks began to recite the same dream as well, it seems like Ethan's Theory was right. This was indeed a vision, and one that he would assume was from Adra, but why is unclear. What is clear is that these individuals were also in the vision, so it should be clear that their destinies are possibly intertwined.

Ethan looked to his sister and nodded, and they both got up. Ethan walked to the table, using his staff to signify he was a Mage. When he got closer he noticed that the Wolf Girl herself was a Mage, not from the same tower but he recognized the clothing and spell time from Babel Academy, a prestigious school of magic to be sure. He noticed the shady men drinking with her, trying to get her drunk so they can steal from her easily.

"Gentlemen, I think it would be preferable if you didn't try to steal from the lady. A fellow Mage like myself will harm you if you try. I would suggest you leave, now."

Suddenly Ethan's hands began to glow an ominous red, and the men around Acacia began to run away. Mages are people you don't exactly pick a fight with, what with magic, curses, explosions, and other nasty things. His hands stopped glowing and he turned his attention to Acacia, raised his staff, muttered an incantation, and tapped her forehead. What happened is that immediately Acacia was sober, all alcohol within her system was gone in a flash.

Saila didn't really want to interrupt, or more so because she got distracted looking at the people around the table. They were quite interesting, a man with an orb in a glass of icy water, a big half Orc with a mask on?, a man with a bandage across one of his eyes, an Elven girl with a belt of Potions, a girl with Blonde hair though with an interesting weapon, and obviously the girl with wolf ears who was drunk before Ethan used magic. Interesting group.

"You were talking about a Dream? One with a hooded man and shadowy figures all staring at him? Hmmmm... Well I can say that both me and my sister here have had the same Vision as all of you. Oh pardon me, I've forgot to introduce myself. I am Ethan Forrester, of house Forrester in Nortis."

"Hiya! I'm Saila Forrester! We're brother and sister! Twins to be exact. So like, it's so nice to meet you all!"

"Indeed, it is a pleasure. Pleasantries aside, you all did have the same vision correct?"

Ethan turned his attention to all of the people around the table.

Noisy. That was this lot of a people who had suddenly arrived, they were all...unique or lack of better word which they all stood up but that didn't matter right now, a cask of mead was in his hands and he would drink which he did so that he begun to down and down the barrel of liquor with ease. Astaroth's momentum was suddenly interrupted when a stranger suddenly got his attention stopped the drink from go towards his mouth and place it down on the table as it creaked under the weight of the barrel as the stocky male turned his head to see who it was a stranger who could pick anyone....execept for the masked-man with purple skin and wasn't human at all.

Looking at the man with a side-eye look which he then waved his arm around the bar as it was open for conversation which he then pointed towards a lass who was blessing everyone's drinks and the bar's mood for the rest of the night that Astaroth proceed to nudge the boy towards the girl so they could talk which he watched the twin half-elves speak with talk about whilst the male threaten off guys from another mage which seemed to be a kind gesture to his fellow. This whole situation resulted to him getting thirst for alcohol that he quenched by taking a swig before he came over to siblings with a heavy-duty chair, zweihander attached to his back and half empty barrel of alcohol in hand that he sat down before and gave a slight nod as a form of greetings & respect to the two.

"That means this isn't a coincidence," John said to the group.
"If you all had the same vision, it sounds like something bigger already," the orb said from the cup of ice water.
"I'm Jonathan Edward Weiss," John said, introducing himself. He didn't know any of these people but he knew he would probably be sticking around with them. The drunken cat girl seemed like the party type. She already had his seal of approval. "Nice to meet you all. Don't mind the talking orb."
"I'm the reason you're even alive."

Acacia was a bit taken back as someone came in interjecting themselves in mentioning having a similar dream. She looked a bit puzzled at first, simply looking dumbfounded and blinking in response. Was he telling the truth or was it some way of trying to upstage her. She looked on her eyes seeming to shift almost into a glare before another voice came to chime in about a the same dream. Her building angered shifted suddenly back into bewilderment. It seemed unlikely not one but two people would end up coming up to her at the same time all seeming to collaborate the idea of the dream, neither seeming to share any relation with one another. She had just assumed the vision to be some strange fluke, just something she should go check out just for the sake of doing so. It compelled her curiosity greatly but she never expected anything to really come out of it.

It was at that point another fellow came wandering up. Was it someone else who would proclaim the same thing? Rather then responding in such a way she was a bit taken back when he went to scare off the men around her. She looked on as her eyes turned into a glare after what he said chasing the men off. Was he thinking less of her? The wolf girl couldn't help but frown as her mind had shifted away from the aspect of the dream. She felt like she was being treated like a helpless child who couldn't help herself. It was something that got on her nerves, even if it wasn't necessarily done out of malice. However as soon as he touched the staff to her forehead to cure her tipsiness it had left her feeling as if she was being looked down upon that much more.

"I was quite alright on my own, thank you very much. Babel wizards like myself are more then capable of handling our own problems. I don't need some pretentious better then thou type to come rescue me I can handle my own problems quite good on my own thank you." She snapped at him as it wasn't hard to see the sour look on her face as the lack of alcohol had took away a bit of her mellowness making a bit more 'feisty'. She had a habit of viewing others as trying to help her as being condescending to herself. In truth it was likely her own subconscious fueling her need to be combative and to try to do anything she can to make herself look better off. She tended deep down inside to be less then confident in her own abilities. She suddenly shifted topics as she seemed as if she was attempting to make herself look more intellectual.

"The probability of the same dream being shared by multiple people seems impossibly minuscule... I could only assume some outside force elicited the vision to individuals from various locations around the world. It is peculiar given the absense of a unifying factor between all those gathered here why it would occur... unless it happened to be done out of sheer happenstance. Even if one was to assume the vision was distrusted at random, unless all participants in the dream originated from the same region when the dreams manifested the only way a message could be constructed in that rigid structure and distrubted would be for a very powerful wizard to undertake the task. That or I suppose a being of a much higher caliber." Acacia spoke up, in part as if to flaunt her intelligence even if truthfully she was more so dragging out her words just to make herself sound smarter as if to get back at Ethan for what she saw was a sleight against her.

"Oh, and you might call me Acacia Gairkald." She spoke adding at the end seemingly forgetting the notion of mentioning her name until after she rambled on a bit.

"I swear if this is some elaborate joke I will not be happy. I'm risking a lot even going out, every moment I could be discovered by one of my families agents. Best make this quick and only talk to those who are important." The elf muttered as she walked into the tavern from her dreams. And already she felt a small bit of nostalgia. The sound of other people was something she grew unused to. But 40 years alone in the forest could do that to anyone. She had grown used to sheer silence during her time in the woods. But immediately she had noticed something that she was not sure what to think of, two half elves. If it were earlier before her family stabbed her in the back Vadania would have been disgusted. But now she had no idea if any of their opinions were true. But for the moment all she could do was wait for what happened in the dream to happen. Yet for now a little eavesdropping wouldn't hurt. She got to a respectable distance when she heard one of them make mention of the dream. And it was at this moment she knew something bigger was happening. If these people had the dream then maybe. "Excuse me good people but I can't help but have overheard a mention of some dream. If I may inquire was it involving this specific tavern and meeting a hooded man here?"

"Yup," Akam said, with a look of minor confusion. "I guess this is happening. If we're introducing ourselves, just call me Akam." Not introducing herself as a princess was nothing new, but it was still a bit weird to her, although, even as a princess, she was still extremely informal, much to her parents' frustration and dismay.

Realizing that a large portion of the dream had come true, she looked to her left, and then her right, and then behind her just in case. She had seen the shadowy figures, they were bloody everywhere, but the one person that she actually cared about finding in the slightest was absent. Confused, she stated, "Has anyone seen this hooded guy, anyways?" half-expecting silence in response.

Johan saw as more and more people joined in on the conversation, as soon as one asked something, another popped up. He saw blonde girl with crimson eyes also approach him from the corner of his eye, she asked if he also had the dream and he nodded in response. He knew that the dream was not random at all, that it had some sort of purpose, and these encounters proved his point. He was shoved forward by the large man slightly, Johan didn't really get it however so he assumed it was just a signal to take a seat. So he took the seat in front of him that had a large baby faced man blacked out on it. Johan shoved the man aside and took the seat.

Suddenly, all the other men left, they became intimidated by the threats of a mage and another who was with him. He observed all of them after he sat down, impressed by how diverse the group seemed. The final one to join was what seemed to be an Elven archer, noticing the bow slinged to her back. He smiled looking at her direction, being glad there was someone he could possibly relate too.

Johan then heard what the girl named Acacia said regarding the threats of the mage, he stifled a laugh when she insulted the mage, but quickly went back to his straight face to avoid altercations, nodding in the mages direction and giving him a wave.

Now in his usual more relaxed pose, he took a deep breath and returned to his laid-back self, with a now much more noticeable accent.

"Sorry about the interruption Acacia, but surely you understand that some of us might just be more distressed about the dream than others..." He said

"Pleasure to meet you Akam, there is no doubt in my mind now that were all on the similar path of fate. I don't think coincidences really work like this." He answered

"Well since we're taking turns, I'm Johan, I use a bow and I come from faraway. Not much else to be honest."
