Act 1 Scene 4 - In the Morning you know you won't remember.. [Broken Memories]

nobble

One Thousand Club
The sun light warms the warehouse as it streams in through the windows and skylights. Those sleeping around the warehouse lowly wake to the scent of toast cooking. Over in the kitchen area Dave can be seen slicing big chunks off a large loaf of bread and he places the slices of bread under a grill. A large pile of toast is stacked in front of him with a number of plates, knives and a selections of jams, spreads and butter.

Dave seems to be wearing the same clothes as he was last night, he has a pair of pistols in holsters on a belt around his waist. He idly munches on a slice of bread covered with lashings of butter and a rich dark brown spread.

Freddy wakes slowly taking in the smells of breakfast and squinting against the dawn's light. He takes his time putting on his old clothes and ties his long blue hair back with a small yellow ribbon. After looking to see if his weapons were still where he left them, he walks over to the kitchen.

"Mornin, Dave" he yawns, "what did I miss?"

Dave looks up from the slice of toast he is munching on.

"About four slices of toast." he then nods to the others. "Best get them up not much day out here."

Fin

His wet nose glistened in the sunlight as he sniffed the air. He stretched across the floor, looking more like some kind of rug than a dog before standing on his four legs and shaking his head from side to side rapidly.

the big dog approached the table starting to rear up to snatch some toast within his jaws that soon were the fingers on a large hand slowly shifting with the rest of the large man that was an omen dog. "Smells good", he said as he followed Dave's example with choice of spread. He then took a large bite, "Tastes great too."

"DO you have to shapeshift at the table?!?" Freddy smiled broadly as he took 2 peices of toast for himself. After savoring the small delights, he wondered as to what today held for him.

"Ok, so it's time to sing for our supper. Do we want to meet Close and Black together or split up again?"

"And while I'm here, can you reccomend a place to get some new clothes? After the vampire hunting yesterday, I'm sure mine a tad grungy."

Fin

"Brian's a good guy and has a great girlfriend, wife, or whatever. She is an amazing cook." He smiled at the last bit of commentary and the memory attached to it.

Kitty

"I fear not," Katherine's voice spoke up as she shifted her body from cat to human.

Stretching, she yawned before peering at the grilled bread on the table. Giving a shrug, she joined the others there.

Fin

He smiled as he nodded in return, "Yeah, I loved that pie." He continued munching away on toast, butter, and spread. "So where do we start?"

"Waittaminit..." Freddy turns his head slightly as if to be able to better take in a reply. "Do you mean to tell me that while we were fighting teenage vampire dirtbags, you were out having pie?!?"

Fin

"Yes and no. And vampires eh? All I got were a couple of metal men, and a guy with a strange bladed whip for a finger that left shards of it in my right arm. Mind you, I tore that arm from his body and he bled to death and john used something to destroy the metal men. It led me to the hospital where I met Brian. He took the metal pieces out of my body. I then went back to the inn, after evading roving patrols of more of those metal men and nobles and looked into finding you. But I had to eat before that because I was starving. The pie was just bonus." He smiled from ear to ear and went after another slice of toast.

As Freddy listens to the story his eyes widen. He then dons an unimpressed expression and comments.

"Meh."

Fin

"Where did you encounter these vampires and what was it like to fight them?" He looked eager to hear of the encounter.

"Back in the warehouse area. They were relativity weak, not much more than I'd assume a normal human to be," Simon said from off to the side, the walking stick/sword tucked under one arm while he sipped occasionally from a cup of coffee. "I didn't fight them directly myself other than watch one nearly trip over himself trying to hit me, but the others here did. The 'vampires' had some sort of aura that weakens people. Drains potassium, I think Dave here said."

I'm just assuming there is coffee available. Or something along those lines, at least.

A large jug of coffee, that sits in a filter machine, slowly refills itself on one of the kitchen counters. An array of mugs is piled by the machine.

"Potassium Vampires are an abborration of the zones. They live to drain the potassium out of their victims, its the one thing that defines them and the only thing they care about. They are only normal human children when they are hungry, but when well fed or there is enough of them they are extremely dangerous."

-----------------------

yup Gulup lots of coffee I forgot to mention sorry...

Fin

"Strange stuff", he shrugged before stretching again. "So when do we start? I'm ready to go and if the others don't get their rears moving I'll leave without them."

Freddy bows low extending an arm towards the door.

"Lead on, Finster. Seems you already know the way."

Fin

He shrugged one last time before snagging one last slice of toast, gobbling it up as they walked out with nary a word.

When Fin opens the door the sun light streams into the warehouse and with it almost oppressive heat. Looking up the sun is a lot higher than it should be, unless everyone has lost their sense of time, it is near to its highest point. Outside of the door the alleyway is empty.

Fin

"Did we sleep in and not know it?"He asked as he looked back over his shoulder questioningly at his companions.

"Time runs a little faster out here in the warehouse district than most of the sectors, slower elsewhere depends on what zone you are in. I did say there's not much day out here."

Freddy finishes cleaning out his coffee mug and places it upside-down on a towel on the counter.

His gear is holstered and concealed as best as he can manage and his ammunion is held in a small backpack.

Beaming at the prospect of more adventure, he makes his way outside waving lazily as he passes.

"Thanks again, Dave."
