"I've seen crazy. Trust me. I've seen Belka nuke itself, I've seen single pilots turn the tides of war. But I don't think I've met anyone as crazy as the Vitalievich twins. They'll do just about anything, for the right price. I've seen them land missing a landing gear. Once saw them dogfight for fifteen minutes under at least 7Gs. On their own, their mediocre. Raptor has a tendency to overextend herself. Cub just doesn't have it in him to have the aggression a real ace needs to succeed. But together, and it's almost inhuman. They may not be the greatest pilots in history, but they're probably the bravest. Or maybe the dumbest, depending on how you look at it."

Name: Marina "Mari" Vitalievich
Call Sign: Raptor
DOB: October 4, 2003
Nationality: Estokavian
Bio: Marina and her younger twin brother Alexandrov were born on October 7, 2003 in the Eastern region of Estokavia. During this time, the country was fractured by vying military powers formed after the Ulysses Impact in 1999 caused the country's government to collapse. From birth, war was something they were no stranger to. By the time they were ten, their parents were long since dead, and even after the General's took power and ended the war a year later, war once again came two years later on 2015, with the start of the Emmeria-Estokavia War. The constant death and destruction, coupled with the traumatic death of her parents, caused Marina to form selective mutism. She would talk only with her brother in private, and even then she would do it extremely rarely. The two, orphaned., were briefly sent to a state run orphanage that acted more like a military school. Next to the school was an airport, where they'd see the mighty jet fighters of the Air Force teear down the runway and roar up to the sky. The sight fascinated the two, and they knew from then on they would become pilots.

Following the collapse of the General's government, the school was all but shut down, onceagain leaving the two alone. Shortly after, however, were picked up at a young age by a mercenary commander named Jackson "Temple" Vickers, in charge of the Emmerian borne High Flyers. They were let's say..."honored" with the task of aiding the company. Moving crates, running errands, etc. All for a place to eat and sleep. They, alongside many other Estokavian orphans, were treated extremely poorly due to their homeland's actions in the war. As time went on, they were slowly trained in the hopes of making them cannon fodder. But the twins always had a knack for the sky. Even during the many wars they witnessed, they were always fascinated by aircraft. The graceful dances of death, the contrails, the streaks of missiles and guns. They begged for lessons until finally, they were given their chance. At first they were trained separately, and did poorly. Mari was far too aggressive, often charging in with little care for her own safety, while Alex was overly cautious, never having the guts to go in for the kill. Once they were in a cockpit together, however, they were almost inhuman. Marina was an exceptional prodigy, her tenacity in chasing her targets often compared to the legendary Demon Lord of the Round Table, though her skills wouldn't be half of what they are if she didn't have her brother as WSO to balance her out.

The two wouldn't see real combat, however, until the Lighthouse War in 2019. They were both just sixteen, and weren't actually supposed to even fight. They would perform their normal duties alongside their usual flight training. But during an attack on the airbase the company was stationed at, the two snuck onboard the Super Hornet they were using to train and joined the fray. Marina was viscous, tenacious, focused only on the target in front of her. Those in the air and on the ground would compare it to a bird of prey, watching, stalking high above it's prey, waiting for the opportunity to swoop down and rip them to shreds. Somehow, the two did incredibly well despite suffering serious damage to their aircraft, and nearly having to crash land, not to mention the injuries they'd both sustained. Despite this, they were damn near discharged by an utterly furious Jackson, but they were stopped. On base at the time was Malinda "Ursa" Harrison, a veteran pilot of the Continental War now resigned to a wheelchair after being shot down, and now a mercenary flight instructor. She hadn't seen pilots with as much tenacity and willpower as the twins in a long time, not since her time as a soldier. She officially bought Mari and Alex's contracts, and decided to personally train them, if only to make sure the next time they flew a combat operation, they didn't crash. It was Malinda who gave Marina her callsign: "Raptor." She was like a bird of prey, stalking her prey from on high, before swooping down to rip them to shreds. The two excelled, showing experience they shouldn't really have at such a young age. They would fly for several different merc companies on the years to follow, usually on temporary contracts before moving on, never really tied to one group for very long. This changed, however, when Malinda put in a good word for the two to the Tactical Air Force Wing 602, fighting in the name of the Belkan Royal Family. While they weren't too keen to fight in an all too familiar civil war again, the pay was insanely good, so they couldn't really say no. Due to their experience, they were assigned as Fàng 1, unprecedented for most at their age.

Name: Alexandrov "Alex" Vitalievich
Call Sign: Cub
DOB: October 4, 2003
Nationality: Estokavian
Bio: Marina is a bit of an enigma. Cold, calculating, quiet. Alex, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. Loud, boisterous, and quick to make a joke, he coped with his past in a different way. Instead of allowing all the trauma to get to him, Alex decided to laugh. He was always there to cheer up Marina with a stupid joke or quip. Whenever she took off, there he was, making sure she hit her targets. Alex is like another part of Mari, a different side of the same coin. Which leads into his greatest flaw. He's...how do I say this...a hang on. He's always been at his full potential when he has someone to rely on, always doing poorly alone in both flight lessons and just general life stuff. This, mixed with his short stature led to him earning the derogatory nickname of "Cub," after his tendency to follow behind people like a wolf cub. But over time, he began wearing it with pride, proudly choosing it as his callsign just to stick it to his tormentors. He was always like this. Always scheming, always looking for a way to have the last laugh. Didn't help that his little cons often helped put food on the table. Alex has a reputation for being a habitual liar, a con artist, and occasionally a womanizer. But when it comes to a contract, he always delivers, and without fail, he's gone the second it's over. He has no real identity besides his connection to Marina> He goes where she goes, always following, Just like a wolf cub following it's mother.

Physical appearance: [Can't find any picture I like, so I'm just going to describe her] A brunette with her hair cut short in a layered wolf style, skin tanned from the time she spent outside exercising. 5'57" with long limbs, has a gentle facial feature and a deep, soothing voice.
Name: Louisa "Lou" Waltz
Call Sign: Rook
DOB: October 13, 1999
Nationality: Belkan
Bio: Lou was born in a family of pilots, with her father choosing to become a commercial flight pilot instead while her uncles from her mother's side enlist in the Belkan Air Force. As a child, she used to admire how heroic her uncles looked like, as she watch the planes they piloted pierce through the sky and fly high above the clouds during military flight demonstrations. In comparison, her father looked like a coward for choosing to step down from the patriotic duties of defending their homeland. As a result, they didn't have the best relationship growing up.

However, when she was about to leave for the air force academy, her mother told her the truth. Her father was a veteran, a survivor of the disastrous Belkan War. Disillusioned and hurt with how the military dared to turn nuclear warheads against their own countrymen, he left the air force right after the war ended. Her uncles never experienced such horror before, and can so confidently fly across the sky, proudly bearing the Belkan flag. But her father could not stand it anymore.

Lou confronted her father, and he admitted all that her mother has told him. While he despises the military and politics, he still loves his homeland, and he believes that his daughter could be one of the wheels of change that will bring knightly ideals back in Belkan Air Force. The father and daughter managed to mend their relationship before Lou enrolls in Kellerman Institution. She was a bright cadet, standing out from her peers with her quick response to an unexpected turn of events, wide field-of-view, and technical ability which made her the ideal wingman-- or squadmate-- for any pilot. With her hard work, Lou slowly gained recognition of her own right, being selected sent overseas for the precious experience of conducting drills with foreign pilots.

After graduation, she was assigned to the 13th Air Division, the 75th Tactical Fighter Squadron "Schloss (Castle)". The unit was specialized in defensive battles, such as escort missions or defending an air space of a city, yet perfectly capable of committing counter-attack when ordered. They were a unit that could execute both offensive and defensive maneuvers to reach their objective. As the youngest and the latest addition in the squad of seven, Lou has been given the callsign "Scholss 7". The individual callsign "Rook" was given by Scholss 1, as he commented on how Lou's ability is similar to that of a rook chess piece: supporting the advances of other pieces and effective in cutting-off targets.

Relationships:
  1. Rylie Pascal / Church: Close friends since cadet school with a friendly rivalry, the news of her accident shocked her, and seeing her condition crushed Lou. She stubbornly stayed by Church's side until she recovered, and find her way back into the sky. While they are assigned to a different unit, stationed at different cities (and even regions, at times), they kept close contact with one another.

Physical appearance: [Can't find any picture I like, so I'm just going to describe him] Born a blonde, but dyed his hair crimson red once he was discharged from the military. Sharp eyes that twinkle with naughtiness, fox-like facial features, and a trademark cheshire cat smile that usually works in wooing and picking up girls. 5'7" with a fit body shape.
Name: Einhart "Ein" Castle
Call Sign: Jackal
DOB: April 24, 2002
Nationality: Erusean
Bio: Ein never knew who his parents are, for he was abandoned on the doorsteps of an orphanage. Life was tough, with the country being near-constantly embroiled with wars and infighting. The older kids, bigger than he was, would pick on him and steal his food. One day, Ein fought back, and he discovered a rush of thrill that spiced up his life.

From there, Ein grew up as a local troublemaker who constantly get involved in street fights. When he was 17, the orphanage caretaker decided to enlist him to the air force academy, where a friend of his is working as an instructor. While he wasn't pleased at first, his opinion changed the moment he saw fighter jets flying above his heads, maneuvering at incredible speed.

Although he still caused all sorts of fights, his knack for flying and his boldness to chase away his targets made him a promising cadet. However, they underestimated his level of "subordination", as he is more than willing to go against his squad leader's commands and go outside of the plan in order to achieve accomplishment or as petty as shooting down more targets than his squadmates. After being involved in an altercation with his squad leader, where he punched him, Ein has been dishonorably discharged from the Erusean Air Force.

Desperate to feel the thrill of flying and combat again, Ein turned into a mercenary pilot, not caring who or what they are fighting for as long as he have targets to shoot and paid good money for booze and girls. His mercenary squad-- "Scythe Squad" travels the world, chasing to profit in one conflict after another, and this time it has led his mercenary group to fight for BRA. His individual callsign was given by his squadmates for his wildness and opportunistic attitude in battle.

Name: Ashley Stevens

Call Sign: Phoenix

DOB: 18 May, 1999

Nationality: Osea

Bio: Ashley was born in a farm in North Osea only 4 years after the area been annexed from Belka into Osea. Her father Robert was an Osean Air Defence Force lieutenant colonel, a Belkan War veteran before he retired, while her mother Irene was a Belkan air force fighter pilot. Her parents had fought against each other over Area B7R during the war, but they never told Ashley who got shot down.

Ashley first flew at the age of 5, in the open cockpit two seated biplane crop duster operated by her father. She had a mischievous tendency since young age, which peaked when she was 7 that she got the bright idea of flying the biplane herself since she’ve “seen how it’s done”. The biplane took off from the runway and she managed to make a short flight, but she didn’t realise she had no idea how to land, so the crop duster ended up plummeted to the field nose down, it’s said that she was giggling when they found her in the plane wreckage, despite sustaining rather serious injuries. To this day the scar of broken bone pierce through her surface skin is still clearly visible on her upper left arm. This accident earned her the nickname “Little Pheonix” in the neighbourhood.

Her dream of becoming an aviator was determined. At the age of 14, she somehow convinced her father to allow her to join a glider training program, and she gained her private pilot license by attending flight school with money she earned from odd jobs as a middle school student.

After graduating high school, Ashley passed the entrance examination for Osean Military Academy into the Class of 2017, she earned her pilot wings via Joint Specialised Undergraduate Pilot Training Program. During her JSUPT course in the Osean Maritime Defence Force, she crashed a T-38 jet trainer, and her only comment in the chaos was “Ouch”. Like a pheonix rising from the ashes, this accident gave birth to her call sign “Pheonix” in the OMDF.

Ashley developed a reputation of being an unconventional and risk-taking but effective fighter pilot in the OMDF. Serving on board OFS Kestrel II, she participated in the Lighthouse War in 2019, scoring a few victories in her Super Tomcat over Farbanti. Ashley came out as a lesbian after the war, subsequently an administrative discharge hearing was held, an OMDF attorney asked her if she would sign a document pledging to "never practice homosexuality again" in exchange for being allowed to remain in the OMDF. Ashley refused. Despite her otherwise untainted military record, tours of duty in Lighthouse War, and high performance evaluations, the panel ruled Ashley Stevens unfit for service, and she was given an Honourable Discharge. She signed up to fight for the Belkan in their civil war as a mercenary combat pilot because she was unable to adjust to live as a civilian.

Name: Ella Rothmann
Call Sign: Icetea
DOB: 22 June 1996
Nationality: Belka
Bio: Born in a middle class family in Dinsmark. The aftermath of the Belkan War see the country fall into turmoil and a long path of reconstruction, and the Rothmann family operates a construction company, the infrastructure reconstruction and government contracts brought a tremendous amount of fortune to the Rothmann business in an otherwise half ruined economy.

Growing up in a fairly well-off household, Ella spent her adolescence years not knowing what to do with her life. She did not expect to actually use it when she earned her Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, it’s more of a delaying tactic to avoid facing the fact she don’t know what she was doing. She tried her hands in writing novel only to give up after barely writing ten pages, to become a comic artist, which she didn’t even send the sample sketch to magazine editors. She has so many interests, and she spent years drifting along trying to find that one thing that can “achieve her potential”.

Ella ended up joining the Belkan Air Force, not because she was particularly driven, but because she didn’t know what to do with herself. Might as well see the wild blue sky. She applied for pilot but her vision was deemed unfit, that Bachelor degree in Mathematics came in handy, which qualifies her for Weapons System Officer training, either that or a ticket home. She accepted it, seeing the paycheque are identical anyway. In the familiarisation flight training course she was able to withstand high G-force that would’ve knock out most other backseat wizzos.

Realising she’s becoming good at the job, Ella asked to be transfer to the 602nd, mainly for the higher paycheque it offers. She and Ashley proved to be fast friends, seeing as both of them enjoys the adrenaline that daredevilry could bring.

(Appearance In Color: Red hair, lighter tan skin, and brownish-gold eyes depending on the amount of light.)
Name: Rylie Pascal
Callsign: Church [Given to her via constantly wearing a cross necklace, which some rumors say gives her so much good luck.]
DOB: November 2nd, 1999
Nationality: Belkan
Bio: Rylie's parents were a mixed family, as her mother's ancestry was traced to Erusea despite being born in Yuktobania, and her father a bonafide Yute. Due to the Ulysses meteor, both soon-to-be parents left Yuktobania and relocated to the Osean Federation, and soon enough, found refuge in Belka, and just in time too-their first (and only) daughter would be born on Belkan soil. The first 10-ish years of Rylie's life were spent with a rocky foundation; most of anything that would go into toys or luxury items went to bills and trying to keep food on the table.
Thus, when the child was old enough to run and talk coherently, she had a knack for being...lucky. Mostly for getting out of sticky situations that would've had a low chance to escape from, but Rylie escaped anyways with her stolen goods. Despite her parents knowing full well that their daughter was stealing out of the pockets of others like a thief, they let her keep doing it because it was bringing income. A loaf of bread was worth gratitude.
During the onset of the Circum-Pacific War, the family kept their head down and their mouth closed for a while, and Rylie understood why. Her family was from Yuktobania, and Osea was at war with them; at least, that's her general understanding of it. Despite never seeing the war with her own eyes, Rylie's father told her tales of jets spitting contrails across the sky, engaged in a dance of death with their enemies. And with that imagery in mind, she proceeded to find her focus in aeronautics and aircraft, eventually signing up and getting into Kellerman Institution.
In this esteemed place of pilots and schemers, she kindled a friendship with Louisa Waltz after betting the latter into the ground before the other finally won a single game at the end. The two were practically inseparable, and it seemed that Rylie's luck started to rub off onto Louisa. But, that might've been the sign for what was to come.
On a routine border flight, Church crashed into the ground trying to escape a pursuing and persistent bandit; The pilot was still alive, but her legs and torso were mangled beyond what could be fixable on the field. After many hours trying to mend what could be mended at the nearest hospital, the doctors deduced that the damaged sustained would mean that Rylie's body would never return to it's form from before the accident, and that it was possible that the training pilot would not be able to walk again. To say that the news shattered Rylie's hopes would be putting it mildly.
Rylie completely shut down, and her rather jokester but modest personality dissolved into the wind. What was left was a shell, wishing on survivor's guilt that anything could have changed the hand that fate dealt her. She pushed people away, even the doctors who were trying to help her recovery-but one single person still persisted in trying to keep close to Rylie: Louisa motherfucking Waltz.
That persistence did hold out in the end, as the weeks of rest accelerated the recovery of Rylie's legs and hips. Soon enough, the pilot was able to walk again, but was saddled with a permanent limp through her left leg. Despite the disability, her eyesight and reaction time improved, and despite the odds, Rylie was let back into the school. What luck indeed...
The rest is pretty much history: finishing flight school, getting accepted into the Tactical Air Force Wing 602, and developing a bit of a one-sided crush on Rook (though she didn't realize it was a crush). Despite all, the two's friendship still stands in testimate.

WSO/RIO/CSO: Does not use a WSO [prefers to keep the AWACS on her ass if anything happens; it's because Rook is there at the moment]

Assault Record

Real Name: Leopold Riedel
Age: 24 (May 22, 2001)
Gender: Male
Nationality: Belkan
Status: Active

Biography

Leopold was born in the Osean Capital of Oured on May 22nd, 2001. He is the son of Elizabeth Singer, an ex-wartime journalist for the Usean news organization GAZE, and Lorenz Riedel, a fugitive and former Air Force pilot wanted for his connections to the terrorist organization A World With No Boundaries. As far as the story went, they had met while his mother was filming a piece about tensions within the Belkan command following the loss of Directus during the Belkan War. A charming, charismatic fighter pilot flying number 7 for the prestigious Gault squadron, he convinced her to interview him over dinner in Dinsmark. She refused at first, but eventually, accepted. They eventually fell in love, their union resulting in the birth of his older brother, Klaus, in 1996.

Of course, their union did not last long. She returned to Oured shortly before the birth of Klaus to submit her story just before June 6th, 1995, wherein the 7 nuclear explosions rocked the world. In horror, she like everyone else watched as Belka declared to the world that it would not submit meekly to defeat. She reached out to Lorenz for comment on the situation, but he no longer returned her calls.

In fact, she did not hear from them again until years later when he arrived, quite suddenly, at her home in Oured a changed man. A pilot without wings. A known terrorist. At first, she planned to call the authorities, but against her better judgment, he pled with her to listen to his story and help him. Perhaps it was for the sake of their previous flame. Perhaps it was for the sake of Klaus that stirred her. No one truly knows what passed between them in that time, but the fact remained that for some reason she relented and permitted him safe harbor one last time.

Leopold does not quite remember the day his mother was arrested by the Osean Authorities. He could not have been more than two, but he does remember being packed off alongside his older brother to his maternal grandmother’s house in North Osea, barely even a stone’s throw away from what is now known to be Hierelark AFB. Even years later, he still remembers sneaking out with his older brother to sit on the rooftop of the house, watching as plane after plane of the Air Force trainees roared deafeningly overhead to land upon the runway. It was a sight that brought him comfort, even as the residents of the town sneered at the base for its Osean leanings.

It was also one of the few times (and final) times he got along with Klaus.

Idealistic, headstrong, and brash, Klaus Singer moved through the small community bright as a comet. More than that, Klaus waxed in their parent’s infamy and wore it on his sleeve like a badge of honor. This attracted to him a gang of disenfranchised young radicals who firmly believed that they were being discriminated against by the Osean government, and that they would all be better off if they were annexed by the Belkan government again. There were even a few who privately admitted among themselves that they thought the AWWB had had the right idea about how to achieve lasting peace. It was an attitude that deeply frustrated Leopold. Perhaps he was simply bitter over the entire situation, but he grew up deeply ashamed of his heritage and the legacy that they had been tarred with by association. This led to a rift between the two brothers that followed them all through their adolescence and into their adult lives.

Aside from this quarreling with his brother, Leopold did quite well in school growing up. He attended a local academy, earning high marks in both literature and science. He was even awarded an athletic scholarship to a well-known university in November City, though he did not actually accept the offer. Instead, two weeks after graduation, he went to the local recruiter’s office and attempted to enlist into the OADF. However, he was eventually rejected and barred from joining when his name was flagged during a background check. He tried unsuccessfully several more times to obtain a waiver to join but was denied in the attempt.

In late 2020, Leopold submitted a request to attend the prestigious University of Dinsmark in pursuit of a journalism degree. While there, he made a good impression on a few of his professors, many of whom had been former Belkan Aces themselves. When he admitted to one of them that he had initially been thinking about becoming a pilot, they referred him to a flight instructor that had once been involved in what was nicknamed “the Kellerman Institute” and now ran a small commercial airfield of his own. It wasn’t the Air Force he had dreamed of while watching the Nuggets at Heierlark, but Leopold wasn’t about to turn down the chance to fly.

He applied as a student, was accepted, and spent the next three years training at the airstrip in between his classes. By the time the tensions began to rise in Belka, he had successfully obtained his license and logged an impressive number of flight hours to boot. Recognizing his dedication, his Instructor managed to get him a contract that would sign him on as a provisional mercenary with the 602nd.

DOB: 12th June 1999
Nationality: Erusean
Bio:

The Ulysses meteorites struck his homeland shortly after he was born, immediately displacing his family and making a refugee of him before he could even know what such a thing meant. They got back on their feet of course, but financial stability would be hard to come by for most of his life. The Continental War came and went during his childhood, and by the end of it he could somewhat understand that something bad was happening that was causing chaos in his home, but he was still too young to properly grasp such concepts.

He did well in school, excelling in a few areas. He was happy, a bit of a comedian, and managed to find fun in almost anything. But as he got older he was starting to realise that he really didn't have any passions to make a career out of. Obviously he'd have to decide on something to make a living off of. The Military seemed a good option at the time...until the 2019 Lighthouse War broke out partway through his Air Force training. He'd never cared much for politics, but perhaps he should have paid more attention to it eh? He ended up rushed out of training just in time to take part in the battle for Farbanti, where he had a brief but inconclusive encounter against a certain Osean F-14D Super Tomcat. However, the real highlight of that day was witnessing the duel between Sol 1 and The Three Strikes. He'd heard of legendary aces with almost supernatural skill in the past, but he hadn't believed in them that much until that moment. Their elegant movements captivated him.

I want to move like them.

It was like hell on earth after that battle. With the anti-satellite attacks, his squadron was cut off from high command, the government collapsed, and survival became little more than a pipe dream. "Little more" ended up being just enough, and he found himself fighting for the Space Elevator alongside Osea and fellow Erusean conservatives. He watched Three Strikes do the impossible and slay the mighty Arsenal Bird.

The war ended, but it was the war that ignited something inside of him. He had a desire for even more, nonsensical as it seemed. Hadn't he learnt anything? It was a miracle he was still alive, barely scraping by during the chaos of the civil war. But he couldn't help himself. A few years passed, and the Belkans wanted mercenaries. From there, it was the 602nd for him.

The Yuktobanian support has to be discreet, so although they'd be piloting Yuktobanian machines, pilots can't use Yuktobanian insignias nor their real names.
As most of the top elite pilots he is a hard liner communist, unlike Ivan she's very outspoken and rebellious, to the point she uses make up and dying her hair.
