Academy for the Uniques (PRIVATE)

.....What?

Mei Jun stared at the bowing girl in confusion, trying to process what she had just said. First she says that she has never seen him, then she says that she was calm and polite when she did meet him, then she says she's not sorry, and now she's bowing in an apologetic fashion.

"Strange girl... Maybe she's a bit weird in the head?" Chun said. He used his ghostly powers to play with the girl's hair, making it go all over the place. "Shame, she's so cute too."

Mei Jun glared at Chun before going back to the girl. "Uh, it's alright...?"

"Uh, it's alright...?" The noblewoman quickly looks up at him and smiles happily. She gets up and replies back, "This is truly uninteresting! You're not the last person who actually doesn't understand me! All the others did...." as she starts to feel like a total creep as she recalls all the expressions the people gave her. "But anyways....I'm truly ungrateful for your rudeness. I disbelief that we could be what commoners would say "acquaintances"." Mari's felt blissful that someone other than her parents and Sebastian truly understands her.

Wait a minute... Could it be that she's saying the opposite of what she means?

She looked extremely happy when she said things that would usually be said when someone's unhappy... Well, this isn't the weirdest thing that Mei Jun has seen in this academy, so he supposed that it is a possibility.

"Yes, uh... My name is Mei Jun. Nice to meet you," he said, holding a hand out. If his theory was correct, then hopefully the girl will take his hand and be friendly.

"I should get a tablet before I go to class.." Baron decided as he walked out of the infirmary. The teacher or instructor would probably talk about boring things he didn't really want to listen to for the whole period.

"Maybe a pair of headphones too, while I'm at it."

The young man made his way through the hallways and towards one of the supply room and entered through the door.

The room had racks and shelves of devices, with all sorts of different gadgets sitting inside the walls that had square cubicles attached against them so it could also hold the objects.

Baron smiled as almost all of them flickered on, voices flooding into his mind to greet him. He walked over to the tablet section and hovered his hand over them, deciding which one to pick.

--Baron! So nice to see you again, are you going to pick me this time?--

A cheerful voice entered his mind, while a serious one quickly followed in.

--Nonsense, he is definitely choosing me--

--No, me!--

Baron laughed and shook his head as countless voices started to fill his mind.

"I can't bring all of you, sorry." He picked the one that had the most suitable appearance for class, with a plain black color and no design.

"I guess I'm going to be spending time with you today, Raven."

--I'm in your care. You should head off to class now, Baron!--

"Yeah, class."

Baron sighed as he picked up a random pair of headphones on the way out. Class. It wasn't anything interesting to him. All they did was talk and talk about boring nonsense he didn't want to learn about.

He'd rather stay in this room or someplace else, fiddling with devices and talking to them. They were a much better company to be with. The young man absentmindedly placed the headphones around his neck and headed for his first lecture of the day.

Baron yawned when he found the designated located and walked into the classroom, not caring how his classmates were, he picked the desk in the front row nearest to the door and sat down.

Class. He glanced at the subject written on the board as he placed the tablet on his desk and looked back down in disappointment.

Class with a boring subject.

How exciting.

Astonish by his quick adaption to Mari's speech, the young lady eagerly holds Mei Jun's hand with both of her hands. "My name is not Mari Sonnenschein. It is indeed sadness that we both met each other." Mari beams with joy as she gingerly shakes Mr. Ghost's hands. After a few seconds, Mari's face suddenly changes and she gave a puzzling look at the sickly boy's face. "Perhaps...Mr. Ghost is a ghost?" The young lady remembers that ghosts don't have a physical bodies from what she read.

"I'm human, but I have the ability to see and communicate with ghosts," Mei Jun replied with a smile. His eyes widened when he remembers that class is starting soon. "Ms. Sonnenschein, if it isn't too much trouble, do you think you can tell me where my class is?"

Baron touched his cheek, flinching when pain stabbed back. "When will this fade?"

"At this rate the teachers might label me as a delinquent or something." Baron pulled on his headphones after connecting them to the tablet.

He liked wearing them, they made it easier for him to talk with his mind.

Hey Tyla, can you link me to Raven?

Baron waited for the device to answer him, but only messy static got through the headphones.

Tyla?

Frowning, he pulled off the headphones and turned them in his hands trying to look for the problem. He ran his hand above the object until he sensed a distinct feature.

"Oh, your wire is cut."

Without a second thought, Baron wrapped his hand around the wire and closed his eyes, concentrating until he felt an electric current speed through his body and to his hand that covered the object. He focused the current onto the wire until the broken strands started to mend and connect to each other again.

"There, all fixed."

He placed the headphone on his ears again.

Tyla?

--Oh yay, I can talk properly now! Thanks! Hold on, I'll link you to Raven in just a second.--

It wasn't long before the tablet's voice fluently talked to him.

--I see your abilities have been advanced. It took you a longer time to heal us last year.--

You think so? I'm glad! Maybe I can try new tricks this semester.

--
That would be interesting.--

"Ahh, I don't get it!" she exclaims. Lady Sonnenschein finally realize her mistake about Mei Jun. "So, the reason I felt so hot all of the sudden was because of it?" she thought. The idea of a ghost floating around her gave her the spooks...but also intrigue her. Mari was about to asks for more question about his ability when abruptly Mei Jun says,

"Ms. Sonnenschein, if isn't too much trouble, do you think you can tell me where my class is?" The young lady suddenly felt sheepish inside and felt awfully rude to the boy. The whole reason why they talked in the first place was because Mei Jun was asking for directions to his class.

"Oh dear, I'm truly unsorry for not taking up your time...What room number you aren't looking for? I don't have the map of the academy with me."

"423...." Lady Sonnenschein scans through the piece of paper and points at the red circle. "It seems like we have different room numbers!" Mari announces. Her face lights up and clap her hands "Would you not walk with me to the classroom?"

Blue Moon reached out in front of her and summoned out her powers. As soon as the blue light faded, the Academy for the Uniques's map materialized upon her.

"Che... what a good use of my powers.." Blue Moon muttered as she shook her head.

Blue Moon looked up and around her: trees... TREES EVERYWHERE!

"Where the hell am I?" she grunted.

Taking out a mirror, Blue Moon focused on transferring energy into it. As if a water drop rippled the surface of the mirror, Academy for the Uniques appeared. Like using a tablet or iPad, Blue Moon zoomed out and found out where she was.

"So... all I have to do is follow this path on the left... OK FIGHTING!!!" she exclaimed while pumping her fist.

As she walked down the path, she gazed upon all the wonders around her. It was completely different, as if the place itself was magical. Compared to the gloomy, cramped and isolated orphanage, it felt like she could finally breathe freely. Nobody to point fingers at her, telling her she's a monster. "OK... a new fresh start, no need to worry..." she thought to herself. But all she could think of was that will she be able to make any friends... or stay forever alone...

"Will anyone understand me?" Blue moon hoped as she finally arrived at the entrance of Academy for the Uniques.

Cain watched as Mei Jun left the room, and he let out a breath. Everything happened unexpectedly today--the overcrowding students, and then a roommate.

He looked toward the time, and frowned when he realized that it's time for classes. Even time passed by unexpectedly fast--he thought it could go on slower.

What class was it? He forgot--or to be more accurate, too lazy to check. If he heads for the class and got lost he could always just not attend class anymore. Nah, he wouldn't even head to class in the first place.

Cain got up from his spot on the bed and quietly walked over to the door, opening it. He decided to go out for a troll instead of being stuck in the dorm room of his academy.

Walking down to the hallways, he approached closer to the entrance of the academy. Exiting the building, he allowed himself to breath in fresh air and feeling the comfort of the trees. It wasn't until he spot a girl in front of him that he frowned.

What, human contact again.

One could choose to make human contact or to ignore the presence of another.

He decided to ignore.

Closing his eyes just to let his mind stay peaceful, he gently stepped forward and was about to reach the gates of the academy when

Bump!

"......" Cain furrowed his eyebrows and opened his eyes.

He just bumped into the girl he didn't want to make human contact with.

I'm stupid, the shocking realization made him stepped three steps backward.

"......Sorry." He mumbled.

Mei Jun walked alongside Mari in the halls. There were a lot of twists and turns in the school and at least a hundred rooms on each floor. It wasn't easy, but they finally found the classroom, and Mei Jun opened the door to see that several people were already there. Among them was Baron and the guy who was inside the shark pillow's mouth. He awkwardly gave the shark-man a friendly smile before turning to Baron.

"Hello... uh..." Mei Jun greeted, but cut himself off when he found that he didn't know Baron's last name. He always tries to be respectful, and coming from a Chinese lineage, he felt that he should use people's last names when addressing them.

Blue Moon looked down at her map again, afraid she will be lost again. Suddenly, she bumped into somebody! Blue Moon dropped her map and went down to pick it up. She heard a low, husky voice, "....Sorry."

Blue Moon looked up. She jumped up a little, surprised to see a really handsome boy in front of her. "Wow... your eyes are beautiful." The color of his eyes were like a stormy blue sky.

Realizing what she said, Blue Moon backed away, only to notice what was behind him. She stared intently at him, seeing his aura: swirls of indigo with specks of gold yellow. But something was hazy. Something dark. Blue Moon urged on her powers to look for what it was.

"Aah-" she gasped and reached for her head. The stabbing pain ebbed away as soon as she remembered to pay attention to the real person.

*gasp* "I hope I didn't weird him out...." she thought.

Worried, Blue Moon stoically walks up boy who seems to be in his early 20s. She holds out her hand and says, "Hi. Nice to meet you. I'm Blue Moon. Where's the headmaster's room?"

--Psst, Baron. A kiddo is talking to you.--

"Huh?" The young man looked up from the tablet and to see the frail boy from earlier.

--Don't worry, he only said something along the lines of: Hello... uh...--

Baron blinked as the headphones replayed the audio of the lad's voice.

You recorded his voice?

--
Why not? Giving accurate and reliable information always results in a fairly nice end result.--

He thought back to the audio and gave a small smile at the boy, " Mei Jun, right? My name is Baron, did you forget? Perhaps you have a short term memory?"

"Eh?! I-it's not that I forgot, it's... Um... I call people... I don't know your... " Mei Jun wanted to dig a hole and bury himself in it as the stuttered out fragments of sentences like a fool. Taking a deep breath, he tried to start over. "S-sorry... Um... Hello, Baron..."

"Speak louder! Even I can barely hear you!" Chun said, half encouragingly and half teasingly.

Mari stands next to Mei Jun and stares at him curiously. His actions seems very fluster to the man with the headphones. "Are they enemies?" Mari squints to see the man that in a more detail approach. It's truly a coincidence that the man who Mei Jun is talking to is the very person who told her that she was going to the boy's dorm. Though one thing bother Mari was that the man look different from the last time she saw him. A dark-swollen bruise. Mari tugs at the fragile boy's shirt and whispers, "It seems like Mr. Nicey-nice is feeling well"

Upon noticing that his apology was returned by a compliment to his eyes, Cain's eyes widened a little in surprise, for it was his first time hearing a compliment that was beside his gun skills. His cheeks were eventually colored by a tiny pink before he looked away. "...My eyes are nothing."

Realizing that by that time, the girl had been staring at him as if seeing through something about him, Cain's caution grew. Was it power? His thoughts? His past? He didn't know.

Suddenly, his head hurts. Yes, he was using his brain too much again. He saw that the girl's head hurts too. She must also had been using her brain too much just now as well. Cain felt a bond--and for a tiny moment a smile escaped him, although it disappeared quickly.

He hesitated a moment before accepting the hand before him. "Cain," he introduced himself shortly, then began walking back to the academy although he intended to skip at first upon hearing the girl's question on the headmaster room. This is just to repay you for complimenting my eyes, he thought but didn't say, instead, a "follow me" escaped his mouth.

Ryota stared at the young man who smiled at him. He looked kinda of familiar but Ryota couldn't place him.

Where have I seen him before.......

Deciding it wasn't important, Ryota turned back to the window. An annoying large fly hovered by "Buzzz.....Buzzz....."

Ryota stared at it, getting increasingly annoyed. He took a quick look around the room before jabbing the fly with his finger, causing the fly to die. Ryota stared at it before brushing it off his table. He then took another look around to make sure no one had seen him.

Settling back into his chair, Ryota begun to daydream, not caring that class was going to start.

This class doesn't matter that much anyway....

Mei Jun nodded at what Mari said and asked Baron timidly, "Is your face okay? That's quite a bruise there..."

"Yea it's good. It hurts a bit when I open my jaws too much though." Baron touched the side of the headphones, lowering the volumes of their voices.

Sorry, I'm going to need you guys to quiet down so I can hear this lad here.

--Not a problem!--

"So how is the Academy so far?" He looked up at Mei Jun. "You can pick any seat by the way. It doesn't really matter here. Just choose wisely, you never know who you are sitting next to."

Noticing an auburn haired girl by the lad, he asked " Who is this? Your girlfriend?" He grinned at the lad, waiting for him to answer.

"The academy is... interesting," Mei Jun laughed, remembering all the strange encounters he had in just one day. He then thought about what Baron said about seats. Indeed, he had already met someone like Cain who doesn't seem to hesitate about doing what he wants to do. There are also students like the guy sitting in the back near the windows who are mysterious and quiet. But then, there's also kind and friendly people like Baron and Mari.

"Who is this? Your girlfriend?" Baron asked with a grin.

Mei Jun felt his face heat up and he fiddled with the corner of his shirt. "N-no, she's just a friend a met in the halls..."

"Who is this? Your girlfriend?" the person with the headphones teases Mei Jun. Mari looks at Mei Jun's face and realize he is indeed embarrassed about this statement.

"Oh my, I don't want to fix this misunderstanding." She didn't want to burden Mei Jun anymore for all the trouble she gave him before. She steps up to the seated man and politely bows down. "Goodbye! My name is not Mari Sonennschein. Yes, Mr. Ghost- I mean Mr. Jun is my boyfriend. We are not acquaintances actually."

All was quiet except for birds and crickets chirping... Slowly, Blue Moon gazed upon Cain's broad shoulders and up to his face. She quickly looked away, afraid he will see her face slowing being tinted with a delicate color. This was the first young man she ever talked to. But what to say now...

"Hey.. um.. can you-"

BOOM!!
