  he Witch City. The City of the Witches. Over some centuries, Salem, Massachusetts has become known as a coastal city with a rich history. Home to the Salem Witch Trials, the city has turned witches into their cultural identity and mascot. It is now a tourist trap and Halloween destination. History deems witchcraft to be that of fantasy, but some know better. The true magical inhabitants of Salem are well aware of the world unknown to mortals.
  
  Academy for the Silenced is the last standing haven for young witches and warlocks alike. A place for them to learn freely and without fear of being discovered. Under the guise of an abandoned building, the academy has been able to run peacefully without fail. Now, however, there is an unknown power working behind the scenes that will ruin it all. A group of seven students are brought together by otherworldly means, a silenced soul in need of help, so that they school suffers no longer.   Currently the top student within the grade. They are a hardworking and studious young person with little time for anything besides their studies and being the student body’s voice. The Convener often works with students to resolve problems and inform school leaders of ideas emanating from the class.   The Noblesse is the top dog in school, not because of their grades, but because of their status. They flaunt the prestige that comes with their family’s name. The Noblesse is a direct descendant of one of the school’s founders. Their family holds sway within the community, making others hesitate to oppose them.   The Pariah was thrown into the world of magic and given a choice to sink or swim. Though it seems as though they’re struggling to keep their head above water. The Pariah is an outcast, a student who has no other magical blood within their family. An anomaly to many. Having come from a religious household, the Pariah was shocked to discover their heritage.   The Bridge has always had a special connection with the dead. They’re both regarded highly for their ability yet isolated. Before attending the school the dead always bothered the Bridge, wanting things, to find closure, to get their life back, because of this the Bridge was protected by their family, sheltered if you will. They can see the dead as if they are alive or speak to them when asleep.   The Turncoat has always had commitment issues. Call them the jack-of-all-trades, they will not hesitate to play their cards when the opportunity arises. Their motives are purely selfish, and they hesitate to let anybody get too close. With eyes and ears all over the academy, they make a strong addition to any team that they see as the best fit for themself.   The Obscured has spent their life in the background, drifting like a piece of driftwood in the ocean. They don’t stand out in a crowd and people tend to overlook them. Yes, the Obscured is just the typical student who has yet to figure out what they want in life, or who they want to be.
