History: Ruse was born in a slum that crowded the base of Seven Pillars. He was orphaned at the young age of three, a mage's experiment falling from the city having caused the death of both his parents. It was his uncle that took him in as his only other known relative. The man was a doctor to the poor, often catering to those who didn't want to or couldn't hire a healer from the city above. Ruse grew fascinated at the work as his uncle often brought him along for house visits. He would occasionally sneak into his uncle's lab and sometimes read the few medical books the man had purchase with his small earnings. It was an odd childhood as Ruse grew slightly hardened against death, the human body being both strong, yet somewhat fragile.
A rather lonely teenager, Ruse rarely spent time trying to make friends as he only grew more fascinated in learning what medical knowledge he could. He threw himself into work over socializing, taking his studies to discover what he could about what was know of various native creatures, his interests going beyond human anatomy. Part of his time was spent helping his uncle on various visits as he grew to know more in the medical field. At times this led him to less than legal situations in which he helped heal less than reputable members of society.
Having shown no previous power, he came into his magical abilities as a communer in his later teenage years in a last ditch effort to awaken any latent powers. He has begun throwing himself into magical studies to further effect his desired changes to the world, largely to create equality between mages and normal humans. It was after effort that his uncle found a communer to take him on as an apprentice and get him residence within the city proper.
Description: With a dark complexion and wiry build, Ruse often has a slight look of absentmindedness in his appearance, as though he recently woke up. His hair is curly and often ungroomed. Clothes often hold slight wrinkles, more pragmatic than following current fashions.
