Ability to Label Spoilers

Lady Warlock

Anime RN
Before the update, we had the ability to label spoilers. That ability no longer exists. This poses a few problems.

If I recall correctly, it is against the rules to spoil something without putting it in a spoiler (unless the spoiler directly pertains to the topic of the thread: i.e. a Naruto spoiler within a Naruto rp). However, now when people put things in spoilers, we have no idea what is there. Are they spoiling something I don't want to see? Is it possible they're having a secret discussion about something that violates the rules of the rp? I as a GM have no way of knowing and if I don't want to have something spoiled, it's better for me not to click the spoiler. However, it may be something important for me to see.

I understand this is a bit of a reach to think something like this would ever happen, but it also makes it very hard to know which spoilers to click and which not to click. I don't want to have Game of Thrones spoiled for me - for example - but it might not be a Game of Thrones spoiler. I have no way to know unless I click.

If it is possible to bring back such an ability, I think it would be highly beneficial.

I think it's to do with the board (is that the word?) that the forum is now on. There isn't any way to label spoilers currently and I think the staff have stated that there won't be any time soon, if I remember correctly. The only way to label a spoiler would be something like below.

Spoiler for Game of Thrones:

I've never watched that show!  :smile9:

I think most people do label spoilers for shows and such but as for the people that I don't, I apologise on their behalf. Having a show spoiled for you totally sucks!  :smile6:

Well, there is a way to change the words, but it's very convoluted and involves HTML and CSS pseudo-elements.

You can do it the way @jinkx suggested until we have time to address aesthetic issues like this.

But frankly, if you can't get people to do it this way, you probably won't be able to get them to do it the other way either.
