Could there be a glossary thread to explain all the abbreviations and/or RP* terms out there? Sometimes I feel like a newb** MMO*** player in a hard-core raid guild - how do I know what I want to be part of when I don't understand what's on offer? And that's as a long-time RPer*, with experience in a few systems and years of wandering gaming stores' shelves. For example, though I can figure out what L5R is (sounds like Legend of the Five Rings), I have no idea what PbP is. I think a glossary would be a big help to both new and old players, as not everyone can be familiar with every game (though I'm sure some of you come very close!). It doesn't have to be complicated - something like my footnotes below, perhaps. I'd offer to write it, but I don't know enough.
*RP - roleplay. Related term: RPer (roleplayer).
**Newb - a new person or novice player. Similar to "noob," which is generally seen as derogatory (I feel "newb" is a kinder word).
***MMO - massively multiplayer online [game], such as World of Warcraft (WoW). Also MMORPG, where RPG stands for roleplaying game.
