Fantasy Abandoned Nekos

"Can't argue with my best friend." He took her hand, putting his head down, mimicking her movement. "Alright let me take up your offer last time we had a moment like this, tell me why you like me again. Ease my insecurities." The last statement was almost a whisper.

Taka nodded and wrote some more in his notebook before starting the next note.

Are you saying the past doesn't matter anymore now that the future is here?

...............

Melanie sighed heavy heartedly as Al left, she was now alone with this Hayden character. They really would need Allon if things went south, which Melanie was positive would happen now.

"Okay Hayden," she said before gesturing in the front door's direction "We need to find Alex, and fast."

When you mean the future is here, if the future is here then doesn't that make the future present? Then again, when we say "present", We are living in the past because our eyes take time to capture the picture and send it to our brain. Bwah, this is confusing. Aki wrote down, her tongue sticking out. Her ears tilted toward the entrance, in which Melanie and herself cane from.

That's how time works, it can never be fully understood by those who live by its guidelines. That's a rule that applies to many powerful properties within the world as we know it today. Now, can you remember anybody from your childhood that you actually enjoyed being around?

Taka gave an unnoticeable sigh before shrugging, some branches grew longer than others. After some more notebook scribbling came the next note.

Do you feel any better now?

Yeah, I feel better in knowing that I have somebody to talk to and can help me in my problems. Does anybody know you live under here?

Taka had to pause for a minute before answering.

Besides M, there's another girl named Ari who knows about me. And then there's my homeless friend, but he hardly comes by.

Evie was quiet as she tried to assemble her thoughts, "I want you to know how much I appreciate all of the things you do for me. You make me feel needed, wanted, and cared about. When you say you will be with me as long as I will have you, I believe you. You are absolutely amazing. The most amazing person I have ever met. You always make sure I'm smiling, laughing, and having a good time. When I hold your hand." Evie squeezed his hand tighter. " I feel so safe and it makes me think I am the luckiest girl in the world to have such an amazing boyfriend. You have the most beautiful eyes and the most caring heart. For once in my life, since my father died, I feel beautiful and wanted. It is unbelievable how I can be myself around you. I couldn't imagine my life without you, I couldn't imagine going to bed and waking up without knowing you'll be there for me. I think back to the day we met and how it all started as a little crush on the boy with the doggy ears. Every time I saw you I would get so nervous and my stomach would be filled with butterflies. Little did I know you felt the same way about me, it's crazy and ironic. I may not be the nicest or the best girlfriend to you, but I promise you that I will treat you how you deserve to be treated, like treasure. When you are not around, you are all I think about. So... Al. That's why I like you." She stayed silent for a moment. Hoping that Al wouldn't tease her for the way she poured her heart out just now.

OOC-Sorry it took me a moment to actually come up with something that would work.

"Okay Hayden," she said before gesturing in the front door's direction "We need to find Alex, and fast."
"You got it." she winked, "Wait so I'm assuming it was one of the two girls who were arguing when I got here... So is it the one with the eyes, that front-" Hayden made a hand motion at her chest with a good foot in front of her. "-, and all them tails; or the girl with the short hair, lacking in departments but makes up for it with her quite beautiful and soft face and the collar? Kinky if you ask me." Hayden joked about that last sentence but wasn't sure if that came across in her tone. "Also where did the dog (Al) go? Couldn't he help us sniff her out or something?"

His name is Mr. Hearse, and he does a plethora of things. He mostly changes jobs at random but is very dedicated to them. As of now he's in marketing.

......

Melanie nodded, "The one with the large chest, Alex." Melanie stepped outside and glanced around quickly "Al's just distracted by romance stuff at the moment." Melanie sighed before muttering "Seems to be the only thing anybody does anymore around here."

Al looked back at this girl, the one who he didn't deserve, who he was the luckiest person to have. Staring into her eyes, the past didn't seem like troubles, only obstacles. Obstacles that during that time seemed like abuse from the world, all directed at him. Leaving his family in order to go to a house with a bunch of people he doesn't know. A bunch of people who were all different, causing drama and trauma. All of that in order to get to her. This girl who he saw enter the building, eyes lit with excite and grin covering her soft face. Ears that could sense the sadness in the house, and bring in happiness with a giddy attitude. And like she said, all that personality and beauty, in a small little bunny shell, Allon had a crush. And now he had her, and the past troubles didn't matter anymore.

"I-I, I couldn't have said it better myself." Allon layed forward putting his head to hers, allowing his ears to flop down. "Evie how can you be so perfect?".

Evie chuckled a bit with slight embarrassment, "I'm far from perfect, I think the beginning to this day can testify to that." She felt her eyes connect with his and the touch of his forehead to hers made her heart pound. Her eyes softened at the idea the distance could be closed but dared not. What if she was lousy? What if he didn't like it? 'What if' thoughts were slowly clouding her mind.

-----------------------------------------------

Hayden looked up towards the stairs worried. But quickly shook her head, there were two girls she'd yet to meet and one was on the run along with Alex and the other was- She shook her head, right now wasn't the time to think about why she'd entered this house. "Sounds to me like you're jealous." A smirk crossed her face. "Why doesn't someone of your caliber have a partner?"

Aki closed the jar of pickles, wanting to preserve the rest for later. Do you ever get lonely down here? She scribbled on the notepad, a pickle sticking out of her mouth

Loneliness is irrelevant, I have my work and my pickles... what more could I ask for?

............

"Jealousy isn't the right word, disappointment applies to it better." Melanie said as she held the door open "I never expected to find companionship in anything other than my friendships here, what disappoints me is how much it seems to ruin my friends lives when they aren't having pillow talk or cheesy soap opera moments."

A family? Aki slowly scribbled down on the paper, her pickle bobbing up and down.

Hayden followed Melanie, "You're right, love can be rubbish. But I thinks such events must happen for us to grow up, because no matter what age we're at in life we'll have something to work on." She lightly knocked her head remembering some stupid stuff she had done that ruined things. "Having someone connect with you on an emotional and physical level. It's what we all crave eventually." She smiled softly at Melanie.

"If you think you're far from perfect, then I'm not doing my job right." His eyes were drifting, trying to stay on contact with hers, but he had never been this close to someone. His mind was spacing out on what to do in this situation, but didn't dare move. Remembering Melanie and Hayden needed him, he knew he had to move, but his heart kept him in place.

How can you say that? My work fills me with a sense of accomplishment that surpassed any feeling I've ever been given by people. It gives me a warm feeling of joy that I wouldn't trade for the world. Like a soothing river that washes away every doubt I could ever place upon myself. And pickles? Oh please, you of all people should understand the sickeningly sweet temptation of the little devils. Eating each one provides a feeling akin to orgasmic, rivaling nothing in its rapturous hold of pleasure.

.....................

"Eventually," Melanie muttered as she closed the door behind her and began walking down the side walk in search of Alex "but luckily for me that time hasn't come. I'm a very busy person Hayden, I don't have the time or devotion to put into a relationship. By the time I'm forty then maybe, but honestly, I'm still young. I shouldn't have to deal with romance when I have to deal with other malarkey like cleaning the house, playing peacekeeper for the various couples who live there, and funding it so the city doesn't foreclose us."

Yeah, I'm stupid. Aki wrote down, munching on the pickle in her mouth. Aki laid flat on the mattress, looking at the ceiling. "Life is troubling isn't it? Of course it is." Aki said to herself.

Evie felt that Al had been sitting there for too long. The adrenaline of panic creped into her pounding heart. She jumped up from the bed. "Ah sorry, umm so I heard shouting earlier. What's wrong? Is Aki okay?"

............

Hayden glanced at Melanie, "So what, are you the mommy of the house? You know support isn't necessarily interpreted as romance, though doing those things and calling it romance is in my opinion a cover for what it really is. Which is sexual release." She continued to brush the tips of her hair and following down the street with Melanie.

Al chuckled, typical Evie. He remembered his prior responsibility, both Ari and Alex were gone and he was here romancing. "Uhm, well about that, Ari and Alex are gone. They left notes saying they can't handle being with Matt and not being with Matt. I was supposed to go look, but I had to take care of you first.". His ears dropped, awaiting the scolding he was likely to get.
