Alright well, hey everyone!
Alright so, I never actually joined RPNation, and I don't really know anyone from here personally, but I kind of always wanted to get around to actually moving over here, since I I got bored of other sites' roleplay forums - or rather, their lack thereof, so here I am- I site dedicated to just roleplaying!
I guess I should start off with my experience - well, I originally started out as a RPG player, and I kind of wanted more than what games hat to offer. At first, I turned to DND, but I soon found that I was too awkward, and I was too uncomfortable actually speaking as my character. So like anyone else, I did some digging. Soon, I found myself in a whole new world. Homestuck was just starting to boom, and I watched the rise of chat roulette sites like MSPARP. Obviously, I made an account. And boom, there I was- my first OCs, my first roleplays. Naturally I didn't immediately start writing pages upon pages, I started out a one-liner, just like everyone else. Over time, I became more descriptive and I found new fandoms, new opportunities. Suddenly I found Cherubplay--- but that's not a story I want to discuss.
Sometime after that, I found virtual space on amino, and I started RPing non-fandom OCs as well. It was at this point that I was starting to get bored, mainly because, as a now veteran fan fiction writer, it seemed only a few people could actually keep up with me. So slowly but surely, I stopped RPing as a whole. Mainly because I would always write paragraphs upon paragraphs, and would maybe get five sentences as a response.
In the summer of 2017, I decided that with nothing to do, I should check out the Instagram community- I rejoined the Supernatural fandom, and it was alive and thriving. It got me into my hobby of photo editing, since you kind of have to do that on the Instagram rp community. Since then, I've been an active member. I revisited a couple of old school sites for the nostalgia this summer, only to find them dead.
I enjoy roleplaying outside of fandoms, of course, but it's still so much fun to take your favorite characters and put them into situations, and you get to write their response to their own struggles and efforts. Plus, sometimes you just need some comfort after whatever happened in the canon universe.
So here I am, RP nation. Wowie. This is finally happening!
