Fandom A World of Ice and Fire CS

Rusty of Shackleford

Ten Thousand Club
Hello! This is the CS for the GoT group RP I'm doing! There are only a few rules. Here they are:
  1. Your character can be from any House real of made up. As this is an AU, you could be a Lannister that isn't canon. Or you could make a House up like me.
  2. No overpowered characters. These are normal people, so you can't survive being impaled through the chest or the head or something like that.
  3. Lastly, have fun!

Name: (Told like in the show and books. Their name, title, House, how many people have had their name before them, and any titles. EX: Lord Bryce Lewis of House Lewis, Second of His Name, and Fox of the Woods)

Age: (Must be at least sixteen)

Sex: (Doesn't matter)

Appearance: (Must make sense, so no anime dudes in trenchcoats or women in chainmail bikinis. Other than that, it's up to you.)

House: (If they belong to one. Can be any, canon or made up.)

House Banner: (What is on the House's banner.)

House Ballad: (Optional. Any ballads that have been written for a House, like how the Lannister's have the Rains of Castemere.)

House Motto: (The motto of your House, like how the Starks have 'Winter is coming and the Lannister's have 'Hear me Roar.)

Personality: (Optional)

Bio: (Optional)

Theme: (What song represents your character? Or even inspired their creation?)

Name: Lord Bryce Lewis of House Lewis, Second of His Name, and Fox of the Woods

Age: 21

Sex: Male

Appearance:
5b2057e1e85d457ee2e38ba6fa8be2ba.jpg
He is a tall man, about 6'4 and weighs about 195 lbs. when unarmored.
House: House Lewis of the North

House Ballad: "The Fox and the Lion." Recounts how a member of House Lewis was accused of attacking a Lannister convoy, and requested a trial by combat. He one, beheading his Lannister opponent with the family sword, a Verelian steel one named 'Lionslayer' that very reason.

House Motto: "The Fox Survives."

Personality: Bryce, as the heir to House Lewis, is a responsible, level-headed man. He has always been a family oriented person, and values his House and his allies' House's above all else, especially the Forresters. He is also a bit joyful, being known for cracking jokes and being a hilarious drunk. His main flaw is that he will do absolutely anything for his family. There is basically no limit to what he would do or go through to protect them.

Bio: Born to Lord Joseph and Lady Elise of House Lewis, Bryce was their only child. Well, their only legitimate one. Joseph had an affair with a peasant woman, but no one knows about that. Anyway, Bryce was raised as the only heir of the House, causing him to develop feelings that he must do anything to protect his family. When he was eighteen, he was promised to Mira Forrester, even though he was four years older than her. The two Houses were always close, and the two seemed happy enough. Recently, his father died, and requested that Bryce go and retrieve the family sword from his great-great-grandfather's tomb, and to find his half brother. This is where his story begins.

House Harlaw

"Reap Havoc, Reap Devastation"

Name: Merryk Harlaw

Titles: Harlaw of Ten Towers, the "Red Hands", and Captain of the Dreadhawk

Age: 27

Sex: Male

Appearance:
02328b084c179634a7d26bb658b052a9.jpg

Merryk is a man of average height with distinctive long brown hair. He wears it braided, but most times keeps it long and flowing in the wind. He has thick powerful shoulders and a long lanky build. For battle, he wears distinctive plate armor that has been beaten to resemble the bones of a skeleton and a tattered black cloak. His rounded helm and gorget display the reaper sigil of his House.

While House Harlaw has its own Valyrian Steel sword, Merryk is much more comfortable with the battle axe. His own battle axe is unique in that it features a double-head, sloped and polished to appear like a cleaver. In addition to the axe, he carries a dirk with a whale bone handle

IMG_20160616_190730_1024x1024.jpg

Personality:
Merryk Harlaw is above all things a level-headed commander. He has a calm demeanor and prefers making strategy to actually engaging in combat. Like his father, Rodrik, he spends a great deal of his free time reading though he prefers books of a more dubious quality. Though he is very personable, the young heir of Harlaw has a notable degree of infamy among the Ironborn. He earned his nickname “The Red Hands” (though not in his hearing) for his skill at performing the finger-dance, which he has never once lost. Unfortunately, his axe has caused more than a few challengers to come away missing their fingers.

He is a devout follower of the Drowned God and makes it a point to wear heavy plate armor always when at sea in imitation of Victarion Greyjoy, a man he greatly respects and admires.

Bio:

Merryk is the third and youngest son of Rodrik “The Reader” of Ten Towers. He is the current known heir to Harlaw Hall and third in the line of succession to receive Ten Towers. Like many Ironborn children, he grew up listening to tales of the Old Way, where their people were feared by the men of the green lands; of the Drowned God, deep within his watery halls; and the Age of Heroes, when they ruled as far inland as Harrenhall before Aegon and his sisters torched the last great Ironborn king.

Inspired by these tales of glory, he learned to sail at a very young age and was skilled enough to attract the attention of Balon Greyjoy, his uncle by marriage. At age ten, he was sent to Pyke and fostered alongside his cousins, Rodrik and Maron. They became good friends and often sailed together and performed the finger dance. It was also during his time on Pyke where he was drowned for the first time.

In 282 AC, shortly after his twelfth nameday, Robert Baratheon launched his rebellion against the Mad King Aerys. Young and thirsting for a chance of glory, Merryk would side with his uncles in encouraging Quellon Greyjoy to join the rebellion. Quellon Greyjoy was a peaceful lord and ultimately resolved to steer clear of any involvement. Later that same year, Merryk would inadvertently kill his first man and injure two more while performing the finger-dance after a long night of drinking with his cousins. It was for this he received the moniker “The Red Hands”.

A few years after the end of the Rebellion, Merryk Harlaw would join Victarion Greyjoy’s command. He saw his first real taste of battle fighting the various corsairs circling the coast in the wake of the rebellion. His tenure during this time also saw involvement during several small raids against fishing villages along Lannisport and the Stony Shore. During one of these raids, he claimed his first saltwife, but the woman died shortly after from the pox.

His eighteenth year marked the beginning of the Greyjoy Rebellion. As a reward for his loyalty and prior service, Merryk received his first command: the longship Defiance. He would sail under Victarion and Euron Greyjoy as they burned the Lannister Fleet at anchor. During the battle for the Fair Isles, he captured two drummonds from Robert Baratheon’s fleet before ultimately running his longship aground while fleeing from Stannis Baratheon’s flagship, Fury. His two older brothers would lose their lives in this engagement while Merryk was captured and held prisoner at Banefort.

He was ransomed and returned to Ten Towers at the end of the war. Though it became evident quickly that his time as a prisoner has not slaked his desire for the sea. Shortly after his return, Merryk commissioned a new ship which he christened the Dreadhawk after the fierce birds of prey that lingered at Harlaw. He left Ten Towers and has since spent much of his time conducting raids at Essos and Asshai, gaining infamy as a pirate. The last report of his movements sent to the Iron Islands detailed only that he fathered two bastard sons – Karlon and Devin Pyke.

Name: Ysila Griff, The Matriarch, first of her name, Lady of Silverhill

Age: 33

Sex: Female

Appearance:
Normal Look/Attire:
Ysilla.jpg

Battle Attire:
Ysila.jpg

House: Griff

House Banner: A silver Griffin Rearing up onto its back two legs over a yellow background

House Ballad: “Wings Held High” A Ballad telling of the forming of house Griff and how they won their land of Silverhill.

House Motto: With Wings Held High

Personality: Ysila is not a woman to be messed with. Her commanding presence and authoritative demeanor have rightfully earned her the title the “Matriarch” of house Griff. She is ambitious and hardworking, though if this is do to her enjoyment of it or the fact that she is a woman and therefore must work three times as hard to prove herself is unknown. She does like to enjoy the finer things in life but to her hidden dismay she doesn’t have much time for it.

Bio: Ysila was born the only child of Lord Aleric and Lady Margot Griff. To most families having only a daughter would be a curse but to the Griff’s this was a miracle for Lady Margot was supposed to be barren. Either way the parent’s happiness was short lived when Aleric’s sister in law gave his younger brother a son when Ysila was two. By the rules of succession that meant the newborn boy was supposed to be the next heir. However, lord Aleric refused to make the boy his heir, instead he adamantly supported his only child for the role. This tore a divide in the Griff family and would later lead to a family civil war.

Due to the rivalry between Aleric and his brother the lord raised Ysila with a special education, one that jumbled the fine arts of being a warrior, leader, and lady together into one. Therefore, by the age of six Ysila would be trained in the way of the blade, pen, and needle. It was a very busy childhood one that left little room for any free time, perhaps that is why whenever Ysila gets the rare chance to rest she takes it immediately

Once she became a marriageable age she was matrilineally married to a bastard of another westerland hosue. This would mean no alliances, now gifts from another family, no extravagant wedding, and all the children born of this union would be of the Griff family. The newly wed couple would spend one year together before disaster struck.

Lord Aleric Griff would pass away from illness at the age 31 leaving the question of his succession in the open. His nephew had a large standing of supporters to his claim yet Ysila refused to back down, Thus war began. It wasn’t much of a war, really it was a two-week siege that ended in one on one combat between the two claimants. The duel was short yet fierce and ended in Ysila’s victory. As punishment for his treason Ysila sliced each of her cousin’s pinkie fingers and banished him from Silverhill and it’s sworn vassal’s lands. To the retainers who still supported her cousin after his defeat she challenged to in single combat and won time after time. Each person defeated was given the same punishment as her cousin.

This action solidified her reign as the Lady of Silverhill. Sense then she has given birth to three children. A son named Elwys who is fifteen, a daughter name Leonetta who is ten, and a second daughter named Tysa who is six. Being the leader of a powerful house caught the attention of Lord Paramount Tywin, At first the good lord tried to appoint Lord Ronnel to be one of his commanders to make sure the Griff’s were kept in line, yet he was met with refusal and the knowledge that only by gaining the favor of the Matriarch would he gain the favor of the Griff’s. So it was that Ysila became a commander for the Westerland armies. It was a controversial move of course but no one has said anything about it in quite a while, after all A griffin’s claws are just as sharp as a lion’s, and any one who spoke out in the early days of Ysila’s appointment learned just how sharp they were.

House Background: The Griff's trace their lineage to the last Griffin King of the Vale. After his death by the hands of the Andals his youngest son fled west into the Westerlands or at that time known as the Rock. Their he would own a small plot of land in Silverhill and carry on the families blood using the name Griff. A hundred years after Agon's conquest of Westeros The Griff's were dishonored by the heir to Silverhill. Deciding that the only just payment they could have was the castle, land, and title The Griff's challenged House Serret to a duel. The duels went on for weeks until finally house Griff came out on top, Thus leading them to become the new lords of Silverhill. In their mercy they allowed the Serret's to live their as guest. Eventually the two houses married together so much that the Serret's name was bred out of existence leaving the Griff's the soul owners of Silverhill.

Name: Lord of the Fingers, Petyr Baelish “Littlefinger”

Age: 30

Sex: Male

Appearance:

House: Baelish

House Banner: (What is on the House's banner.)

House Ballad: N/A

House Motto: Knowledge is Power

Personality:
Baelish is a cunning, Machiavellian, unpredictable, and ruthless manipulator of court politics. He is at times capable of putting on a seemingly friendly face with a friendly smile - but his eyes don't smile when his mouth does. The exact inner motivations that drive Baelish are unclear, as are his ultimate goals, but he has no real loyalty or genuine affection for anyone. Behind his smiles and forced mild manners, Littlefinger is shrewd and calculating, willing to casually dispose of people who trusted him, like a man replacing a coat he no longer needs. He is an extremely intelligent man, not only a genius at financial matters but at cynically controlling those around him

Bio:
House Baelish had very meager origins and no distinguished lineage: Petyr's great-grandfather was a lowly sellsword from Braavos who came to the Vale at the invitation of House Corbray. Petyr's grandfather was a poor hedge knight, who managed to earn a minor lordship of a few stony acres in the smallest peninsula of the Fingers.[1]

Petyr's father fought in the War of the Ninepenny Kings, the preemptive assault on the forces of Maelys Blackfyre, the last of the Blackfyre Pretenders, before they could attempt an invasion of Westeros. During the conflict, Petyr's father served well under Lord Hoster Tully. Through their good relationship, Hoster agreed to foster his son Petyr at Riverrun, a great honor for a lesser House.

Petyr went to Riverrun when he was eight years old, carrying all he owned in a bundle. At Riverrun, he befriended Hoster's daughters Catelyn and Lysa Tully. Their brother Edmure mockingly nicknamed Petyr "Littlefinger", in reference to his small height at the time and the location of his minor landholdings. The nickname would stick with him throughout his life. Eventually, even Petyr sarcastically embraced the nickname, because it showed how far he had risen, from an impoverished noble-born boy from an insignificant minor House in the "little Finger" peninsula of the Vale, to one of the most powerful officials at the royal court.

Petyr became smitten with Catelyn, but she never returned his affections. Lysa was infatuated with Petyr, but he only loved Catelyn. Eventually when she was betrothed to Brandon Stark, heir to Lord of Winterfell and Lord Paramount of the North, Petyr challenged him to a duel, thinking he could win through pluck and courage but he was promptly overpowered and nearly killed, though Catelyn begged Brandon to spare his life. Embittered, Petyr was cast out of Riverrun and returned to the Vale.
