You can’t be me, I’m me! I’m me he says…
At some point somewhere, a teacher teaches a class of students, “now, can anyone tell me what a human is?” They write the word “humans“ on a chalkboard. their skin almost looks like chipping bone with spurs ground down to be more flat.
a student raises their claw, “they are those creepy things from a long time ago right..? The ones that my grandparents talk about”
“Yes, Andreas. The creatures that your grandparents talk about. The ones with no fur, feathers, or scales. Oddly shaped claws that look like a shovel, skin tone that didn't vary in hue, and various body proportions... despite having the same genetic makeup.”
"they sound very... weird."
"You don't know the half of it, which is why... today I have to tell you about them... as they are the last civilization before our repeating planetary extinction cycle...", the teacher perks one of their deerlike ears and stops for a second, "sorry, the classroom next to us is very noisy today", she continues, "while they are no longer with us today, they had a large impact on our world. they made the air more breathable for us and made many advances that nobody ever had. such as the concept of technology. and a catalogue of their culture through data and writing. basically once we translated their many languages, we knew how to activate their devices, which gave us so much information that caused multiple generations of technological boom!", she looks to the class and sees someone on a cellphone, "and like Stadraiah here, many of us have adjusted in society in order to closely resemble the humans Internet Culture."
Stadraiah, the student holding the phone, puts it in their pocket, "Sorry Mrs. W"
"It's fine, just don't do it again while in teaching, its disrespectful", the teacher continues, "Many of the adults you look up to have mastered multiple human languages and because of the techno boom, many of our original, primal languages were lost to time due to lack of a writing system. does anyone remember the name of the language we speak in this classroom?"
"English",. the students mostly say in unison.
"good, now open your human history textbooks to chapter one. we are starting fresh today!"

Please read the above spoiler. where this will not be a school rp, it was made in order to give information on how the current people view humans as a base.
they are an extinct creature along with most surface animals.
the idea of this RP is: we are a society of monsters that have adapted to found human culture in books and computers. it has been a few generations and the monsters have adapted well. However, they don't call themselves monsters as they know it is meant to be a bad term. they go with the term people.
