Since the beginning of time the knowledge of magic has been passed down from wizard to apprentice. Generally an eager apprentice starts their study under a senior wizard at age twelve. Apprentices who reach their 10th year of study must complete their right of passage; they must safely capture a fairy. Every year the gate to the world of the Fae opens up, and apprentices along with observers and escorts cross into the realm. As the leaves change from green to gold the old wizards can feel the gate open, this years right of passage has just begun...
Right of Passage Rules
1. The fairy must be captured without assistance from another.
2. A fairy is the preferred fae creature for capture due to their size, but creatures like nymphs and elves are accepted and highly praised.
3. If an apprentice fails to complete their right of passage they will have another chance in following years.

Observers are scribes trained with minimal blade combat to defend themselves.
They are tasked to follow apprentices into the realm of the fae to ensure that the fairy's capture is fair.
They keep a detailed record of all events which happen during the right of passage.
Observers can start their career quite young and most are between the ages of 15-27

Escorts are those who have studied the blade and ways of physical fighting.
Escorts are expected to be strong and protective.
They can be of any age but escorts who are 20 years of age or older are more likely to have their skills trusted.
Escorts are only allowed to step in and protect the apprentices when they are near death. They cannot obtain the fairy for them. If they do, the observers will make note and the apprentice will not pass their right of passage.

Nymphs are generally beautiful women who are made of nature.
They can be of any part of nature, woodlands, water, rock and marshes.
They live as long as fairies, around 500 years.
They are generally a bit shorter than the average human
Elves
Elves are the oldest creatures living in the realm of the fae reaching up to 1000 years.
They are also the most similar to humans in stature.
Elves come in any skin tone and any gender.
They are rarely captured by humans.
