Poetry A tiny little flower

Captain Gabriel

Three Thousand Club
A tiny little flower
sitting in a garden.
Bathing in the sun
waiting for its gardener.

First in this dirt,
the little flower was.
The kind gentle gardener
loved it really much.

Day after day,
the gardener came back.
They would feed the seed
whatever it would need.

More and more flowers,
began to grow in that dirt.
The tiny little flower
began to grow envious.

The gardener watered them
thoroughly every day.
The tiny little flower
always remained small.

The flowers around it
were getting very big.
The tiny little flower
didn't grow a bit.

The kind gentle gardener
watered them way more.
The tiny little flower
started to feel dry.

More and more days
had passed without drinks.
The tiny little flower, well
he was on the brink.

Sick he had gotten
of being forgotten.
And so at the gardener
it shouted its grief.

"Why did you forget me?
What have I done?"
The tiny little flower
screamed with great grief.

"You're not pretty
Everyone else is prettier than you."
Responded the gardener
with a stone-cold tone.

The tiny little flower
looked at the gardener.
Remembered the love
the two had shared.

But it became confused
what changed in it?
It has always been the tiny little flower
that the gardener used to hold dear.

And then the flower
dry and sad.
Let himself go
dead in the mud.

Just a fading memory
within the gardener's mind.
But they were the flower's
first and truest joy.

I love this! This seems like such an accurate description of how people are passed by for better or prettier people and how no matter what, sometimes you just don't feel good enough

Feelings change, but more importantly other people's feelings change. As humans we tend to forget that every other person has complex emotions, the same as we do. It easier to simplify other people, but in the end they are just as complex as is, if not more because we can never truly tell how they feel.

I also really liked this one, it’s quite tragic in narrative yet tragically real too. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t resonate with me somewhat.
