[A Time Apart] (OOC) The Players behind the players

Sorry to interrupt from the sidelines, but just for future reference (as this is rather dramatic and fun to watch!), body purifying admonitions doesn't require motes unless you succeed in getting 5 successes, and then you pay the motes.

I was assuming that it was working slightly different in this case. (Since I don't think you're even supposed to be able to do this with pattern bite) Th way it seemed to me was that those 5 motes made it possible for me to roll against it. But I'll wait for Lochar to speak up.

Oh dear... :D

Thankfully I haven't had Jake leave yet, so you have an extra set of hands should things go sour. andwe'reforcedtokillherforoursafefy

I'd certainly hope so. Tackling the first poison took him *does the math* over 2 hours. 4 hours for all the shenaniganry.

It actually works like so. Body Purifying requires you to make 5 successes to spend 5 motes to get rid of normally indestroyable poisons and the like. However, pattern bite isn't actually in the body. But this is Exalted, which means you can win because you're wearing your big boy panties today.

Hitting the five successes and paying the five motes puts you into an extended roll off against the poison. Difficulty 5 gives you one success, plus all threshold successes. You must keep rolling to remove the poison(and paying the five motes every time to reactivate the opportunity to continue against the poison), or really bad things happen. Same with a botch, which Dylan almost managed on the last poison. It requires 11 total successes to yank a pattern bite poison.

Short term, looking at it from a purely logical/practical standpoint, yeah it's a horrible idea to try to save her.

Long term, if we manage to avoid any undue attention (which is going to be pretty hard now that we've just been outed as Celestials), she will be a highly valuable ally.

We've only been outed to two people. Besides, if we can convince them not to turn us in, I think they'll be trustworthy enough.

Looks like you better start up the Social-Fu, then. Man I miss my Eclipse right about now D:

Argh, Charisma is what I meant. They're the same value though, so the roll doesn't need to be modified.

How much time has passed since the scouting thing? I needs to calculate me my mote regeneration!

All that de-poisoning took 4 hours, plus however long other stuff took. You've got to be back to full by now.

Thanks, I knew it was a decent chunk of time, but for the life of me I couldn't find an exact reference.

How close is the rustling/whimpering in the north to the Fae and the city? How far is the runner from the city?

(I think Bria would have to be attuned to the manse for that to work.. but even so, she wouldn't choose it over her current HS so doesn't have a place to socket it. Better just you hanging onto it here with the poisons like you are. Plus, Bria has other ways to deal with intoxication.)

Ah, intoxication... last time an exalted character of mine got drunk, she woke up three days later, naked on the roof of the imperial manse with a friend and the guy she'd been getting drunk with. She may or may not be pregnant.
