[A Time Apart] (OOC) The Players behind the players

I foresee Grant will be doing this a lot in this game, at least at first:

I was under the impression that we where dealing with The Madame, an old women. My mistake. I'll change it so that he says "cousin" instead

(sorry a out the double post, this was from my iPhone)

Lixie, was your goal with that post to creep me out and make me think Emily is going mad with power? 'cause if so, mission accomplished :P
Well... maybe a LITTLE bit...

Yes, but we still have to come up with a crazy story to explain how she got injured so badly, plus, we all have to pretend to be related now...

(It's too late to have the discussion IC, as we're now committed to what's been posted.)

Get Bria to make up a story

Apply 2nd manipulation excellency

???

PROFIT!

(iPhones are terrible posting devices, no disrespect intended)

ha ha. Yeah, except you don't know what JayTee's spinning as one now. :P

Also, Barbara's companion obviously is none other than Chejop. :P

As a point, you are all players.

Until you make the effort, you're still players. Not PCs. Just an FYI.

OK, to be less obtuse. At the moment, you're all still players. Until you stretch yourselves into your Exalted shoes and roll some dice, you're still just players.

It'll be fairly obvious for combat, but your social and mental stats need to be adjusted from "Player" to "PC." I've got all sorts of stuff stocked up that's been shoved into your threads on the Loom, but until you start poking around and being Exalted level personages, you're not going to get very far.

The point of an XP buy build was so that you could build characters that weren't quite so one dimensional. JayTee, you didn't do that. And you ran off by yourself with somebody hurt, with only two dots in Charisma or Manipulation, and nothing in Presence.

I'll roll your dice for you, this one time, for your trying to convince Rose that you're not lying and she's not in any danger over this. Two die stunt for the talking you've done already, so you're rolling four dice.

Next time you try to convince someone, if they're being obstinant, roll the dice to see how well you can convince them, please.

--Edit

Three successes.

Willpower 6 + Integrity 2 = 8 divided by 2 is Dodge MDV of 4. There's a reason you're not being convincing.

Yeah, I dun goofed. annoyigly enough this is actually the first time I decided to make a specialist character, they're usually a lot more well rounded than this. I don't suppose you would be willing to let me restat the character?

Blech, fair enough. I suppose I'll be focusing on building my social skills from now on.

You and me both, dude. I just realized that my social skills are far lower then I usually like.

I dunno, looking at what's happened so far, it seems like Grant and Dylan are gonna be vying for the leadership role pretty constantly.

On second thought, perhaps its best that I don't have any social skills. Considering social characters tend to be the group's "face", a third name in that pile would lead to a giant clusterfuck of "I'm the leader! /rageface"

Not necessarily. Dylan has sub-par (for Exalted, anyway) social skills; but still sees himself as the idea man. Meanwhile, Grant as the Captain America analogue (while not necessarily trying to take the role) is more intrinsically suited for leadership.

I'm running an Exalted game in RL, and our Eclipse caste who has the best social stats in the circle, frequently looks to our PC fire aspect for orders. So it's not the build that necessarily defines your role, its how you play your character.

Anyway, time will tell how it turns out in this game; but I'm rather excited.
