[A Time Apart] (OOC) The Players behind the players

My character now has Red Rage of Compassion, as I think that will be much more fun dramatically than Heart of Flint (Otherwise known as the limit break that isn't a limit break.)

Oh, and I modified Hal to have Curse of the Drunken Monkey, given what I said over TeamSpeak about him getting a harem and other self-indulgence on the side.

Sheet is coming along, I need to flesh out a bit more backstory and probably throw in some explanations, but if you'd take a glance at backgrounds and merits/flaws and see if there is anything there that doesn't work that'd be great. :)

Merits/Flaws:

As you're not building with bonus points, as stated in Scroll of Heroes Merits and Flaws are 2x their point value in XP. No more than 20 XP from Flaws. Please don't go stupid with this.

Adder: Why commit personal essence instead of peripheral?

Wuming: Note your committed essence.

Feantari: Need to finish filling it out, obviously.

Incendius: Regardless of source of extra peripheral motes, don't use 'em for attunement costs.

JayTee: Please put the final dice rolls and defenses for your attack stats, not just what the attacks have by themselves.

Arynne: We've gone through yours several times. Looks good for now. :P

Coyotekin: No glaring errors, though it's interesting you chose to even all your Attributes out.

Overall: Everyone needs a motivation, even if it's not the 'character's' motivation, and even if it's not something the player consciously thinks about.

Yeah, it was tempting to crank up other attributes, but that was where I started with them and than got sidetracked with other expenditures. By the time I realized it I had spent all of my xp. No worries though as it gives me a good base overall to start with and I can eventually get them where I feel they should be.

Dude, did everybody decide to go MA favored as a Solar? Dawn being the exception technically. Seems like everybody decide to go Solar Hero style. No Melee badasses?

My idea to get away from the Wyld Hunt is not going around dressed as an orichalcum chandelier (I'll probably remove even the bracers) so I thought it would be a nice opportunity to try and fight unarmed.

Plus, I am using Arms of the US style (fits with the Captain America theme, I suppose.. oO) rather than Solar Hero.

The alternatives I was considering are Immaculate Wood Style (which I could pick regardless and use unarmed) or good ol' Melee+Grand Killstick, plus the charms to make it disappear.

But mixing MAs is just more fun. ^_^

Question for the ST: what will be the actual purview of Social Charms?

Often times they are just a waste of XPs, since none really bothers to enter social combat or social combat is not even present or relevant.

But depending on your ideas for running the game, I'd be happy to invest a in that.

Posted a draft.
I'm still utterly confused on how to spend my points...
You have a 1 in all Attributes and a 0 in everything else.

Spend XP to raise them. If the table given confuses you, it's the same basic table as what is required to spend XP on a Solar. Attribute x4 XP to raise those, 3 for the first ability dot, etc.

Sorry, wrong choice of words.

"I am extremely confused on where I should invest my points."

More ass kicking, ore more social stuff?

I'll definitely go for unarmed MA combat, soak, investigation and socials.

But there are still a lot of XPs I haven't used yet and I have to decide

Ah.

If you're looking for suggestions, you'll be near Halta. Social-fu will be a viable alternative to going about, diaklaves drawn.

Y'now, for anyone that wants to do things other than Martial Arts, there is an item in Wonders of the Lost Age that lets you attune to artifacts of different magical materials. It is a 1 dot, with no attunement, so 1 XP and you can carry around a Jade weapon and not look like an Anathema.

That's actually a good idea...

But now I am really tempted to go Jade Perfect Kata Bracers... oO

Yep, I went for MA overload, PKB, both required to have any chances at fighting bare handed against artefact weapons.

Plus a few cool Performance Charms (there are very few charms for this ability Oo), stealth, investigation.

Sheet's ready.

Could you clarify what you mean about "final dice rolls and defenses for your attack stats"? I'm afraid I have yet to handle combat in Exalted, so I'm a bit lost.

He means that you should put the final value of your attack pool/defense pool in the place where you listed your attacks. Right now you just have the base accuracy/defense of the weapon listed, and he wants you to add your Dexterity+(Ability) to it so that you can quickly pull out a number rather than having to calculate it in game.

On a different note, I have finished the description of my two manses, and they are in the second post of my thread. I wrote them from an in game perspective.

Alright, I believe I've taken care of the stating problem. Also thanks to a bit of info from incendius, I've swapped out the crossbow for a short powerbow.

I'll be adding to the background information bit by bit, it's harder than I thought it would be to place myself in this situation.
