The unamused Paladin makes his horse trot alongside his as they leave the cave area. "All by yourself? You said your army has perished. What demon would follow another that has been and forcefully put into a human body?" Harman asks, keeping a straight face. "From my experience I haven't known them for following someone they don't consider stronger than them."

The two men started to leave on their horses so Yan He decided to follow to see what they were doing and who they were.

 

[Verdas]

"Not demons but creatures that I made myself. I was so powerful back then... Yet a summoner defeated my army and killed me." Valdus says ruefully. "I was going to cleanse this world for my daughter..."

'His daughter?' the shield spirit says, hoping to get Harman to inquire further into it.


" 'Cleanse' the world for your daughter?" Harman inquires as their keep going. "Correct if I may be wrong, but you may have a different definition of 'cleanse' than the rest of us. Care to explain?"

 

[Verdas]

"Aye. By cleanse I meant destroy all human life." Valdus says

Harman lets a sigh. "Somehow I had a feeling you'd say that." he remarks. After a few minutes of silence he speaks up. "You know, it ever occur to you there may be a reason you were reincarnated as a human as opposed to say, a dog or a merman?"

 

[Verdas]

"Why yes. To get revenge on the summoners." Valdus answers 
"Even though I will be the ant attempting to bite the anteater it's still worth trying." Valdus says while looking around from time to time

The shield spirit sighs to itself in its shield, not commenting. Without making his thoughts obvious on the matter Harman says "You couldn't do it as a powerful demon, and you think you can do it as something you consider lesser?" he comments. Harman wonders if his time spent with his new companion would be wise to keep pursuing all things considered.


'You know lad, we could probably keep an eye on him, maybe show him his way of previous life wasn't all it's cracked up to be.' the shield spirit speaks in the Paladin's head.

 

[Verdas]

"I have considered that. I'm not sure whether I should live as a human or get my revenge no matter what the costs. I am unsure of my purpose in this life." Valdus says

Harman nods. Maybe his mentor's idea has some merit to it after all. "I think you should consider the option of not going into simple revenge. There's so much more to life than that." he says to Valdus.

 

[Anna Kyoyama]

"I can hear them...." Rinoa looks up at the skies "the spirit are crying....." she looks back towards Mia "sister I will protect the forest for you" Rinoa smiled and walks away

 

[Verdas]

"Hmm..." Valdus ponders over what Harman said

"All ask is that at least consider it for now. We can continue discussing it at a later time. Say, when we're nice and safe out of the forest." Harman offers as they get to the campsite where he had the horses at.

 

[Verdas]

"In fact you're right. There's so much more to life than than just simple revenge. So much more people to kill, so many more ways to torture that I should discover..." Valdus says agreeing with Harman

Rinoa followed the spirit powers towards the disturbance "spirit lead me towards your enemy" Rinoa Pulled out her blade and follow the spirit cried

 

[Verdas]

"Yes. We should get out of the forest for now." Valdus says

"That's...not quite what I meant." he says as he help pack and they make their way out of the forest towards a nearby town. "Just..try to behave while we turn the bounty in, alright?Please?" he asks Valdus.

"you fools are not going anywhere!" Rinoa voice echo down the forest "you humans her the spirit and my sister!" Rinoa Appears out of a shadow like mist "now.. I must end your life!"

 

[Verdas]

"What the-!" Valdus says, surprised

Kynreth burst from his grave under Rinoa's feet "Who dares to wake me! I am the mighty Kynreth, eater of souls!"

Harman brings his horse to a quick stop. "You again?" he says in surprise to her appearance.


"Lady, you have the wrong guys. If you'll spare me a minute maybe I can to talk-" before Kynreth's appearance cut him off.

Mia smiles at the souls and walks up to them only to hear a voice through the forest shocked she backed away feeling a surge of power and sadness flow through her she started to laugh a little then alot
