Fantasy A thousand year War

"I was simply checking to see who the campfire here belonged to. You looked a little... Threatening." Valdus says tightening his grip on the sword, ready to apply the finishing blow that will end this little conflict

"Oh? And it's perfectly fine to do so by attacking indiscriminately?" Harman asks him. His sword begins to glow and hum with righteous white energy, his ability to smite fully ready to be used when the assassin attempts to attack. Keeping his shield at the ready and close to him, he suspiciously eyes Valdus. "Listen, I have no issues with you right now other than your apparent lack of sense. I'm not here to pick a fight with you, there are worse things out there." he says, hoping to use some diplomacy to end this before any combat begins.

Valdus sighs and then sheathes his sword "Yes I apologize for my rudeness. I've made a habit of killing strangers for this beauty." He says tapping his sword

Letting the energy on his sword dissipate he lowers his blade and sheathes it, keeping the shield at the ready as he does so just in case. The news that he killed strangers for his sword didn't sit well at the moment in light of what nearly happened. He then lowers his shield some to get a better look at Valdus. "Apology accepted. what's your name?" he asks.

"Valdus. Valdus Crimson." He says, completely relaxed "And this is Cresent Moon." He gestures to his sword

Harman relaxes his fighting stance before fully lowers his large shield before putting it onto his back. "I'm Harman Metzger, paladin of the Order of Holy Steel." Harman proclaims. "I'd shake hands with you on our introduction, but in light of recent events I feel it wise to skip the formality this time."

"No, I just don't normally shake hands with someone who just tried to murder me moments earlier." Harman replies to him.

"Hm. I understand." He says before taking out a bottle full of a dark red liqud and pouring it over his sword which sucks it in and becomes sharper and harder to break

'I don't trust this guy, lad. Be careful.' the shield spirit telepathically warns him. Harman was already thinking the same though. He takes a look around his makeshift camp site to be sure he's packed everything.

"So would you like a travelling partner? I can handle some demons besides ordinary people. The though of demon blood makes Moon here shiver with delight..." Valdus says staring at his sword

Harman looks over at Valdus. "If you're sure you can handle demons and not harm innocent people, sure." he replies. "I wouldn't mind another person at my side. We should probably be on our way soon. I'd like to make some headway towards my next destination before the sun sets.

He points eastward. " Been hearing that a small-time bandit lord has been holing up with his gang in some nearby caves. Some of the local guard captains have put a bounty on his head." Harman explains. "If we can bring him alive they are offering a higher pay, but we'll see how it goes."

"Heh... So only the leader huh? Does that mean I can take care of his gang?" Valdus asks putting a hand on his sword hilt

"If they have half a brain, they would surrender, in which case we would capture and take them in." Harman explains. "But if any decide to fight we have no choice but to cut them down." he continues. He hoped that at least some would surrender, but since he and Valdus would be outnumbered it was likely just a fool's dream.

Harman gives an approving nod. "Good to hear. We should get moving soon. If we make a good pace we can get there in about half a day." he says as he begins walking in that direction.

"There's no need to walk there. I actually have some horses tied up to a tree back in my camping spot." Valdus says pointing south west

"Well, that would make things go far faster." Harman says. "Alright, thank you. That would be good idea."

With a nod Harman agrees to follow Valdus to his camp site. It had been a little while since he had a horse to use.

"Ok we're here. So would you like the black horse or the brown horse?" Valdus asks pointing at the two horses that are tied to a tree, both with saddle and reins

Harman spends a moment or two examining both horses. "I'll take the brown one. Thanks." he says before approaching the horse and getting on it.

Valdus nods and then gets on the black horse after untying the ropes of both horses and then turns his horse to the easy and makes it gently trot
