How the heck are we still alive???
(Don't bother with a character sheet! Just jump right in! Just one person for now, but I may move this to the group forum in the future! Keep in mind I have no plans on this being a romantic rp. Don't mind the tags, btw. I'll change them once it's been figured out what this'll turn out to be, which can literally be anything. And if you haven't gotten the clue already, feel free to do whatever you want as long as it fits the overall tone of the rp.)
The night was dark, the rain shortening visibility to a mere hundred or so feet in front of the car. Turning on high beams only helped so much.
Lightning flashed in the distance, shortly followed by the low rumbling of thunder. The beat of the windshield wipers was steady, slowly lulling the vehicle's driver into a fuzzy half-conscious state. He knew he should pull over before he ended up in the ditch, but something about this place just didn't feel right. Ever since he passed that gas station a few miles back a heavy weight had lodged itself in his gut and it only grew worse the longer he drove. He subconsciously stepped further on the gas as anxiety started to corrupt his already sleep-fogged mind.
He tried to brush it off as the atmosphere, or the late time, but the feeling never left him. As he drove, though, he slowly grew more weary. His eyes drooped. His head nodded. He nearly fell asleep before hitting the groves on the side of the road, startling him awake. The rain lightened and worsened as time went on, almost creating the illusion of a pattern. And as the rain pattered on, as the road remained fogged by the heavy splashing, as the driver's eyes drooped, he almost missed it.
He slammed on his breaks just a little too late as a figure leapt from the brush and in front of his car. He couldn't be sure if he hit it or not from his previously drowsy state. When the thought that he may have just hit a person came to him, he cursed and rushed out of his car and into the rain. He was wide awake now.
He first searched the front of his car for any signs of a body, but couldn't see anything due to the dark. He didn't find a body, though, so he began his search around the vehicle. "Hello?" he shouted through cupped hands. "Hello???"
Finally, he spotted the figure on the ground just a ways behind his car, a red hue glimmering around it as the taillight reflected off the rain. "Oh my god! Are you alright?" He asked/shouted as he quickly made his way towards them.
