That's why they would want to stay on the hunt long without something to keep them on it, the only reason they stopped in the first place were the 3 corpses of House Whent and now James own corpse. Well they would certainly have to explain why they want her and why the Red Spear should give them up, their leader is fairly mild manner but also generally a good guy so if she's in his care he will guard her unless given a pretty good reason.
