Hmm... didn't realize there was such animosity between House Rosby and House Velaryon. Good to know, I mean not really useful considering Rosby being irrelevant at this point, but good to know none the less.

It has less to do with the fact that the Velaryon's dislike the Rosby and more the fact that if the Rosby's aren't using Rosby income then someone else can step in there and borrow the sizable land which the Rosbys posses for their own ends. With Lord Rosby dead that leaves his son who is mentioned of an age to be going out and fighting for his father, now if the New Lord Rosby comes to King's Landing, to request aid it would certainly be a shame if he were to have an accident and be taken out of the picture, in such a case either he has no heirs and Lord Velaryon could selflessly either look after the Rosby land after the pirates or suggest and new Lord of Rosby to his liking, mayhaps one of his own kin. Even if this new Lord has a child they would be an infant and would definately be welcomes at the Driftmark Daycare where Lord Velaryon will make sure they know their right and wrong.
