Hello Everybody! Agent here. I've decided to take a big risk here, in the hopes of it paying off.
Now, when I normally make a thread, it's generally pretty vague, and I do that for a reason. Often times, I'm afraid that if I go into detail, it'll scare potential partners off. Either because I have the idea so developed, or because my idea is strange. However, due to a lack of interest generated by my vague threads, and a longing for actually roleplaying, I'm going to go into detail, outlining my plot, my character, and everything else up front. And I suppose, if people are interested, they'll respond. And if not, then my fear will have been proven right. Either way, I guess I'll just jump right into this.
Our characters are best friends, and they have been for a long time. There's always been this sort of spark between them, but they've never explored it, out of fear for their friendship. The common dilemma of, getting together and them making great partners, or else, they get together and it doesn't work out, and in that scenario, it would become awkward, possibly ending their friendship. Like I said, the common dilemma of friends liking each other. Not to mention, neither of them have even mentioned feelings to each other in the first place.
But, moving on. My character is the male in this pairing, and yours is the female. Since they're best friends, they hang out a lot, and they're pretty much inseparable. They're both college age, but old enough that they live on their own, as opposed to living with their parents. So let's say, 20 or 21.
Enough backstory, onto the plot. These two characters, who are best friends, are having a sleepover one night at her house. Just a sort of chill thing, where they eat pizza, watch movies, and then pass out. And that's where our story where we'll start roleplaying. When they wake up, something's changed. Your girl, she doesn't know anything yet. She just wakes up, and it's another morning. But for my guy, a lot's happened overnight.
While they were sleeping, a loud thunderstorm was passing through. However, it was no ordinary thunderstorm, but rather, one of a supernatural nature. Since your girl was sleeping in her room, she was unaffected. My guy however, was sleeping in the living room, which had a lot of technology, including a TV that was connected to a satellite. The storm sent out a bolt of lightning, which struck the satellite, sending the supernatural energy through to the TV. Once there, the screen flashed, making contact with any living thing in the vicinity. In this case, the only living thing was my guy....
So? What happened to him? Well, his body changed massively. First off, his bones had changed, becoming malleable, along with the rest of his body. In other words, if a piano were to fall on him, he would flatten like clay, instead of exploding in a bloody mess. When the pressure conforming him was removed, he'd return to his normal shape.
Next, he formed the ability to create telepathic bonds. He could communicate through thought, instead of having to use words. These bonds only worked though, if his bare skin touched another's bare skin. It made it very intimate.
Lastly, and probably the most important of the changes, he shrunk. He shrunk. Such an odd thought to think, and yet, here it happened. And he didn't just shrink a few inches, or a foot. My guy's size is on par with some of the smallest bugs, just barely visible to the naked eye.
So of course, now he must gain his friend's attention, ask for her help, and maybe, just maybe, find a way to reverse the affects of this supernatural anomaly.
And now I'll answer one of the most common lines of questions I get asked.
"If he's so small, how am I supposed to RP with him? How will she be able to hear him? Will he ever become big again?"
First things first. I acknowledge that roleplaying with a character so small is a very difficult challenge. Because, in a lot of ways, you'll be the one pushing the story forward. My character certainly won't slack, and I will help guide the story, but travelling, and all that stuff will be tasked to your girl. So, if you're open minded, and up for a challenge, this will suit you.
Second things second. If you really read through the entire plot, this question should already be answered. He has the ability to form telepathic bonds, they can communicate in that way. It's different, but's it definitely a great substitute if you ask me.
Third things third, and probably the most difficult question. Truth is, I don't know. Maybe. The premise of this plot is that he's small now, and this is his obstacle to deal with. So while it's not impossible that he could grow bigger, it would not be for awhile. That would defeat the plot rather quickly.
And then another thing, just as like, advice for the roleplay. The roleplay starts off with him trying to get her attention. Don't make it easy. I have ideas about struggles he can go through in the first 5-10 posts, because he's unable to get her attention. Make him work for it, y'know?
So, if you've made it this far, then I guess all that's left is what I look for in a partner.
I ask that you can write 1-2 paragraphs per post, minimum. One liners are okay occasionally, but they don't drive the plot along.
Spelling/Grammar is a must. Obviously, nobody's perfect, including me. I'll make typos, errors, I expect you to do the same. Just, not too often, okay? c:
At least for the first day, I'm hoping for a good back and forth in activity, but beyond that, a post a day is all I ask.
Lastly, I don't care for character sheets. If you absolutely need them, fine. But I'd rather figure out my character through roleplaying, giving them a chance to develop who they are in those early posts.
If you're interested, after getting through everything, please leave a post down below, or send a PM. I'm really hopeful that somebody will be interested in this plot, and that this wasn't an hour of my time wasted. [Probably a little exaggerated, but still.] Thank you!
