- Code by AmbiloquousTHE LEGACY OF THE CONSTELLATIONSββThe brightest stars are those who shine for the benefit of others.
The constellations have been revered and gazed upon for millennia, used by sailors to navigate and used to predict futures. Little did the mortals know that each constellation is guarded and maintained by a chosen person, and blessed upon birth to carry out this sacred deed. And they had a responsibility to the mortals as well- to protect their precious Earth from evil bigger than themselves. Of course, it is kept secret from those outsiders, as this power can cause jealousy, and lead to violence among the mortals. This once happened among the guardians themselves, long ago, and caused war between the guardians of the constellations, who longed to take over each other's roles and power in the skies.
This caused mass devastation and loss among them. Most guardians were ashamed of what they had done.
To ensure that this sort of thing would never occur again between the guardians, the children of these powerful deities are sent to an institute that has existed as long as the BC times, where apart from learning of basic subjects, they learn of their destiny, their roles, and their powers. More importantly, they learn of ancient wisdom and their history, and are taught that they must learn to put aside their differences for the greater good, lest they want to repeat the errors of guardians before them. They reconnect with their guardian parents, who had all left their partner and child in order to continue their duties. They do not learn of any of this, nor do any supernatural traits manifest, until they turn of age (18).
The elder guardians (the ones who weren't killed by each other in the Constellation War, anyway) believe that if these new generations grow and bond with each other in such a crucial stage of their development, then they can turn it around, and prevent another catastrophe from happening ever again.SUMMARYThis RP will be taking a dive into the hidden world of the guardians of the constellations, and the new blood that they will be trying to mold into the next generation. They will learn about everything there is to learn about the constellations and what it means to be one. They will also have to grasp the fact that they are not 100% mortal, as they once thought, and understand that they can never tell ANY mortal about their experiences in the land of the stars, unless they want to be wallowing at the feet of the Elders.
The RP will be focusing on the newest of the newbs, the freshmen of the institute, as they struggle to cope with what is being thrown at them all of a sudden, and takes a look at the first clumsy steps they take to taking their rightful places among the land of the stars. - BLOODLINESβControl yourselves, you lustful, lovesick fools! How can we trust our secrets to remain untold if you pleasure every mortal you meet?!
Among all this peace-making, there is a bit of a dispute about purity. Sexual purity, to be exact. Some older guardians find it repulsive and can't understand that there aren't many of them to choose from, so reproducing with mortals is a must. Some despise those that are 'tainted', those who have a parent that is fully mortal, and even consider half-bloods that mate with each other beneath those that are 'pure'. Some believe that the purity of your blood should determine how powerful you are, instead of your heritage and powers. Asexual reproduction is the most popular form of keeping the bloodlines alive with mortals, at the cost of the constellation blood diluting slightly. It is seen (by most) as a dignified and perfectly respectable way to reproduce with the mortals. Sexual reproduction is ONLY respectable for those with constellation blood in them (which is how many 'mixed' children came to be). It is SEVERELY frowned upon for those with constellation blood in their veins to reproduce sexually with a mere mortal. Especially since they have to abandon the mortal partner soon after to resume their duties, if they are even allowed to return to their post.STARLIGHT INSTITUTEThis school has been around, as I have said before, during the BC ages. It was founded by the remaining elders after the Constellation War, who are long gone. Guardians can die, obviously, but if they aren't killed, they have an average lifespan of 500 years. It can be longer or shorter depending on how pure the blood is. It is situated in the land of the stars, on clouds so high up in the sky that they appear wispy and light. One one of the bigger cloud formations, the constellations pooled together their talents and created a little bubble of paradise, of lush vegetation, and built their school there. The students are not permitted to leave the school grounds unless it is a holiday or a designated day to do so. Field Trips around the land of the stars are common.
The professors are oftentimes guardians themselves, and tend to show favoritism among the students. They are also quite old, despite not appearing so for a while, as they age very slowly, especially once they come of age. The school is full of secret passageways and catacombs, so sometimes looking around can reveal marvelous or terrible things.DORMSThe observatory is on the highest floor of the school and has a glass ceiling, allowing for leisurely star-gazing. This dorm is oftentimes the most requested, so if you manage to land a room there, consider yourself lucky. The conservatory is the only dorm that is actually not built-in to the school. It is in the lush gardens of the school, and while it may not be very good for stargazing, it is probably the most beautiful dorm. The dungeon is the third dorm. It sounds a lot more menacing than it actually is. It is underneath the school, in the catacombs, and it is perhaps the coziest, usually with a crackling fire and rows upon rows upon rows of books. - RULES1) This RP is for people 18+, sorry.
