Character Design Notes:
- Use the Out to Character thread to get some planning going!
- I'll like and add your character to the roster on this main post once they've been accepted.
- Ensure that ages are realistic: Parents being in their early forties to fifties; children ranging from (ten through twenty-five)
- For the sake of back-story, try to include at least seven comments on other characters (as they are posted), so that your character can have some preset relationships considering everyone is family.
A highly ambitious politician who is married to an equally ambitious professional. They believe in strict parenting and have set high expectations for their children. They have placed their careers before their family; however, have ensured that their kids have the best life money can buy (boarding schools, pricey trips, best nannies). The family is used to being in the public eye and have a marked reputation of being smug and disconnected with the average person.
- The spouse of the sibling would be from a notable family and have been raised with money; their marriage could have been a product of college or graduate school.
- The parents should be career-focused meaning that their relationship with their children should be somewhat strained. For instance, the politician of the family could possibly only make an appearance at their children's events for the public eye.
- The family thrives in a highly ambitious environment and the children were raised to be competitive (with their peers as well as with each other). Think of some focal point for the children of this family whether that be art, music, sports, academics, or some other talent.
- The family would have had just enough children to function as a model American family: two to three children.
Accpeted Parsons
David Parsons | Forty-Eight | Father | Eldest Sibling
Lilah Parsons | Twenty-Six | Daughter
Tristian Parsons | Twenty-One | Son
This sibling was the closest to their parents out of the four siblings and understand the value of close relationships. Family means the world to them. They married young but have never looked back -- though, some argue that their relationship was doomed from the start, as both this sibling and their spouse wanted to be parents more than they wanted to be with each other. They had their kids -- and they had lots; however, they have lived a life of always just above breaking. They try their best to keep a smile on their face and to teach their kids that life is about who you have, not what you have; but just barely scratching by is pushing the family to the brink.
- The parents should be incredibly involved in their children's lives -- attending all events, keeping in touch with those that have left the nest, and probably have family photos littering every empty space in their house.
- The family has always struggled financially living in a modest house and always making sacrifices for their children. I'd imagine the kids wouldn't have too many luxuries possibly sharing cars, bedrooms, and many of the older children having to get jobs.
- The family would have the most children: around five to seven.
Accepted Mathers
Lance Mathers | Forty-Five | Father
Bianca Mathers | Eighteen | Twin Daughter
Erica Mathers | Eighteen | Twin Daughter
This sibling left home at a young age to travel the world and found love where they never knew it could exist. Soulmates lost in a world of wanderlust --the two lovers traveled the world and experienced everything it had to offer creating a life full of memories along the way. Kids were never an essential part of their relationship but they had one biological one early in the relationship and that was just enough. They lived a happy life until the sibling's spouse came down with a terminal condition. It was in these final years that the sibling realized that they'd never love someone like that again yet they still had so much love to give. They'd been touched by the stories of children from around the world but the idea of adoption wasn't a reality until their spouse's passing. Their family has come to be a makeshift rag-tag group of misfits that all have one thing in common: lose. Lose of a parent (or both), a spouse; however, they've found a new family again.
- The sibling of this family lost their spouse nearly seven years ago and would have only started adopting children following their spouse's passing.
- There is one biological child to the parents with all the others having been adopted from other countries. The characters adopted could be older teens for the sake of the roleplay. The choice whether to take the family's name is up to your character. The family would have around three-four children including the biological child.
- Whoever plays the sibling constructs the story of whether the family still lives abroad or if they've come back to the state to settle. Additionally, feel free to construct a job for the character which would add to them being overseas for so much of their life (journalist, foreign service worker, whatevers..)
- These family would be a quirky bunch who abandons tradition in a means to better showcase their individuality. They'd have bits of knowledge from cultures from around the world and may speak multiple languages.
