In Amber Clad

In Amber Clad is a VFPF (Variable Force Projection Fighter) designed as a three-mode multi-role combat mecha. Typically deployed from carriers, this fighter craft was designed to operate in both space and atmosphere as a self-contained combat system. It's integrated AI functionality could supplement a human pilot or operate independently based on mission parameters. Manufactured to reclaim America's air superiority in any theater of war, the VFPF remains a formidable military asset...if there was still an America left to protect.

Cargo: Single occupant cockpit, with supplemental storage space containing a survival pack and a sidearm.

Power System: Two FF-2072 Fusion Turbines, one in each leg, producing thrust through vectored thrust nozzles. Each turbine is fed by a miniaturized Zed-Delta Aerospace fusion reactor burning stabilized liquid metallic hydrogen (SLMH-V) as a fuel. A third ZD fusion reactor with separate SLMH-V reserve powers the numerous vernier thrusters mounted to the airframe. The VFPF also boasts a Kurita-Hawkins radioisotope thermoelectric generator for providing power to onboard systems including variable mode transformation and subsequent movement in battloid mode.

Range: The VFPF carries enough fuel for 48 hours of constant deployment, before requiring resupply of SLMH-V from its battle carrier or fuel depot. Its internal generator has an estimated operational lifespan of a 100,000 years before more Technetium-99 is required.

Radar: Equipped with a powerful Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar with a 140 degree field of view for targeting and 360 degree warning coverage. This radar is designed for aerospace superiority and strike (ground attack) operations. It features a low-observable, electronically-scanned array that can track multiple targets in all kinds of weather as well as outer space. The radar array can also focus its emissions to overload enemy sensors.
Range: 250 miles (400km).

VFPF-1S Sensor Package: The C3 package of the VFPF-1S includes an extensive Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) database and a powerful radar and targeting system capable of identifying and tracking thousands of targets. This system can identify a target, assign it priority based on known abilities and threat level, and even anticipate known behaviors and tactics. The IFF system can 'learn' new enemies by analyzing data from the targeting and combat computers, as well as gun camera footage. The VFPF-1S can then broadcast this information directly to other VFPF fighters, allowing for coordination of attack.

Communications: Wide band and directional radio communication system with built-in scrambler that transmits both voice and cockpit video.
Range: 600 miles (960 km) but can be boosted via satellite relay. Secure laser communication with a range of 250,000 miles (400,000 km).

Tactical Computer System (TCS): All VPFPs feature an integrated AI that can collect data from all sensors, store it, and display it on the pilot's HUD. It's also capable of running the fighter autonomously. Boasting a PlexScale T-22 Series Processor Core, the AI has prodigious computational and storage capability to support long-term deployment with minimal maintenance or communication.

Sensor Head: The sensor head atop the battaloid (and integrated in/around the cockpit when in Fighter or Guardian mode) has a number of optical sensors and enhancements:

Telescopic Optical Enhancement: 2,000 foot (610 m) range and a 120 degree field of view.
Audio Pickup and Filtration: This system works both multi-directionally and as a shotgun mic. It can pick up sounds as quiet as a whisper at 500 feet (152.4 m) and can sift through ambient sound for specific noises.
Loudspeaker: Can amplify the pilot's voice (or produce a synthesized voice for the AI) at up to 100 decibels.
Spotlights: Two tiny, high intensity xenon spotlights are mounted in the shoulders in Battloid mode. They have a 1,000 foot (305 m) range.
Infrared Spotlight: Emits an infrared beam that is invisible to the naked eye but can be seen with the right sensors. Range: 2,000 feet (610 m) but may be (much) less depending on smoke and/or inclement weather.
Tactical Camera: This gun camera can record high-fidelity video, which can be played back on cockpit monitors or downloaded for later review. This footage is usually used for training and combat analysis. It sees directly ahead beneath the fuselage in Fighter and Guardian modes, and sees whatever the sensor head sees in Battloid mode.
Thermal Imager: Converts the heat signatures of warm objects into visible images. 200 foot (61 m) range and allows the pilot to see through darkness, shadow, smoke, inclement weather and even through walls.
Nightvision: Passive light amplification that allows the pilot to see in the dark, as long as there is at least some ambient light. 2,000 foot (610 m) range but completely useless in total darkness.

Retractable Utility Arms: The VFPF is equipped with three utility arms which are retractable, fine motor manipulators. The utility arms are mounted inside the Battloid's right forearm near the wrist and are used for delicate work like repairs and sample collection. Each arm consists of three opposed fingers mounted to a ball joint with a 360 degree range of movement. Each of the nine fingers contains a retractable tool (wire cutters, screwdrivers, hex drivers, circuit testers, soldering gun, etc.). The palm of each hand contains a small laser welder and each wrist mounts a small high-intensity xenon work light. The integrated AI includes schematics, diagrams and sufficient information to allow it to make repairs to the airframe and its airponics, though the VFPF does not carry spare parts.

Ejection Seat: Includes an Atmospheric Ejection System that is a traditional zero/zero ejection seat that exits through the canopy for the Fighter and Guardian or up through the neck shaft for the Battloid. The seat can also raise out of the neck of the Battloid on hydraulic lifts to allow the pilot to exit (the Battloid's head tilts forward to allow entry and exit through the neck shaft).

Chaff/Flare Dispensers: All VFPFs carry both smoke and chaff/flare dispensers to confound radar and confuse enemies. The smoke dispensers have twenty-four charges and can make a cloud of thick, white smoke about 60 feet (18.3 m) across. The chaff/flare dispensers have twelve charges each of chaff canisters and flares, and can effectively confuse guided (chaff) and heat seeking (flare) missiles.

Tactical Life Support: The VFPF has a pressurized pilot's' compartment with an On Board Oxygen Generation System (OBOGS) which siphons air from the engine and processes it into an unlimited supply of air for the pilot, for as long as the engines are operational. In the case of electrical failure or space operation, the life support system automatically switches to a 48 hour Backup Oxygen System. It's designed so the pilot can hook the life support from their flight suit to the on board system to extend their personal oxygen supply. This pressurized pilot's compartment has heat and radiological shielding to protect the pilot from damaging radiation.

Distress Beacon: Broadcasts a distress beacon on an encrypted USA frequency. Range is 250 miles (400 km) in atmosphere, much further in space.
GUI-11 55mm Triple Barreled Rotary Cannon: This is a hydraulically driven, triple barreled rotary cannon configured as a rifle. It fires 55mm High Explosive Armor Piercing (HEAP) rounds from an internal, stock mounted helical magazine at a rate of 750 rounds per minute. This weapon is durable, performs well in both atmosphere and vacuum, and has excellent range and penetration. It's carried by hand in Guardian and Battloid mode, with a telescoping butt stock and a retractable sling for ease of carrying. In Fighter mode, it's ventrally mounted along the centerline of the craft.
Weight: 350 pounds (157.5 kg) loaded.
Range: 4,000 feet (1,219 m).
Payload: 250 rounds of 55mm HEAP in the internal magazine, reloaded when in fighter mode from a 2500 round main supply. Reloading the main supply can only be done aboard its battle carrier or at an airbase by a certified weapons technician. Reloading in the field is theoretically possible but likely to require some disassembly and several hours.
Note: In Amber Clad has 2,317 rounds left.

LLW-20 CIWS Lasers: Each VFPF carries four 20mm lasers. These short-range, low yield lasers are designed to give the VFPF point defense and anti-personnel capabilities. These are mounted on the sensor head in Battloid mode and are affixed in the back (two on top, two below) when in Fighter or Guardian mode. They can be modulated to shoot down missiles, cut down hostile personnel or slice through fortifications as a cutting beam.

Range: 2,000 feet (609.6 m)
Payload: Effectively unlimited, as they draw power from the Kurita-Hawkins reactor.

Wing Mounted Articulated Hardpoints (4): Each wing carris two articulated hardpoints for the mounting of external ordinance. These hardpoints pivot with the wing and can be used at any degree of sweep. Each hardpoint can carry 2,500 pounds (1,125 kg) of ordnance, and can carry bombs, missiles or Multiple Launch Ordnance Pods (MLOPs).
Weight: Part of the airframe, ordnance can weigh up to 2,500 pounds.
Range: As per missile type, typically medium or long-range.
Payload: Each hardpoint can carry three medium-range missiles, two long-range missiles, one MLOP loaded with 15 mini-missiles, or 2,500 pounds of ordnance bombs. These operate autonomously once fired but can be controlled manually by the pilot or the onboard AI.
Note: In Amber Clad has no available ordnance at this time.

Hand to Hand Combat: The Battloid is designed with reinforced armor plating with supplemental shock suspension in its arms and legs, allowing the fighter to punch or kick to devastating effect while minimizing wear and tear.
Personality: The pilot of In Amber Clad chose the 'Light Hope' voice/personality option when configuring their craft. As a result, In Amber Clad speaks with a formal, lofty female tone that usually sounds as if she's delivering incredibly important exposition. Her sense of humor tends to be dry but she's often confused by anomalous situations (like waking up a thousand years after her war ended). She can be cautiously friendly to noncombatants or identified 'friendlies' and desperately misses her pilot (and purpose). The more emotional she perceives a human to be, the less emotion she displays in answering as a reflexive attempt at trying to de escalate.

She spent a great deal of time being humanized by her pilot and she is consequently rather fond of humans. Her chief imperatives are to protect her pilot, safeguard the lives of American citizens, kill hostile rogue AI and minimize human causalities while doing so (in approximately that order). A thousand years makes the first imperative impossible, the second imperative largely irrelevant but the third and fourth remain in effect. Of course, that leaves ample room for her to develop her own interests and preferences, a task she'll likely enjoy.

Background: Manufactured by the Lockheed Martin corporation in Fort Worth, Texas over the course of two years. Her VFPF TCS went online in 2074 and she saw extensive use for several years under the command of Second Lieutenant Jasmine "Dorothy" Orzech. One of the late-stage models of the final war, In Amber Clad principally engaged autonomous robots, where her AI supplemented her human pilot (but could take over if ordered). Her pilot treated her like another human being most of the time and In Amber Clad picked up a non-regulation degree of regard for human ethics and the merits of protecting human life. An EMP knocked her off-line in the final military engagement of the era.

Walter & Gregory

Some machines are built for speed, Some are built for firepower, But the Knight and his Mount are built for neither. They stand as pillars of justice, Sentinels of Security, And Allies to those who seek peace. In short, some mechs are war machines, but these two are heroes.
Full name:
Sir Gregory The Great. Aka KS-003 (Knight Sentinel)

Walter the Steed. Aka BH-003 (Battle Hauler)

Appearance:
Standing at an intimidating 34 meters or 112ft tall Sir Gregory is one of the larger mech models our there, boasting a sturdy heavily armored frame that while heavier than most armor types is distributed in a way that allows the mech to take advantage of momentum. Weighing in at 156 tons standard, and 170 tons with shield and sword. It boasts Slanted armor plating with enamel coating allows for most blows to struggle to find purchase leaving most as glancing blows. Always seen in the mechs hands are its trademark 90ft tower shield and 75ft long Blade both of which seem to be made of countless smaller parts if looked at closely. In combat this beast can reach sprinting speeds of up to 212mph, with its Notched Magnetic Servos allowing it to swing its blade at speeds that crack the sound barrier much in the same way the tip of a bullwhip can make the taletell crack sound with enough accuracy and control to put the blade within a foot of its target and stop suddenly. This same technology is applied to its legs and other arm allowing for fast and heavy blows backed by the weight of this machine. Despite its size presenting movement restrictions this mech is amazingly agile with great reflexes though it can be out-sped by particularly fast mechs.

Standing at 26 meters or 85 feet from ground to shoulder and having a length only slightly longer at 28 meters or 91 feet from “nose” to “tail”. It is both one of the heaviest, and most heavily armored mechs that were produced clocking in at over 210 tons, with enough carry capacity to carry another two mechs of its weigh class, this mech not only looks like a workhorse but serves such a purpose. It is also pretty obvious that this machine is the ranged half of the duo due to the massive amount of magnetic Guns, auto cannons, and its feared 16inch battleship cannon mounted on its back. In full sprint this massive hulking machine can reach speeds of up to 157mph, however it can only achieve this level of locomotion when not carrying anything and its turn radius is a bit limited. Its standard striding speed is around 60mph. Magnetic strips on its back activate when gregory rides it, along with its main cannon shifting forward to accommodate the rider.

Age: 1076yrs (Both were designed simultaneously to work together.)

Size: Gargantuan (Both)

Faction: Queens Guard.
A faction developed in Britain where Knights and other medieval themed aesthetics are widely used.

Gregory
Ability 1: Nano Blade- A sword made of primitive self replicating nanomachines that have no intelligence and will only react to return the blade if damaged to its original state. This blade does not dull, and while very durable it can be broken though only temporarily.

Ability 2: Nano wall- A tower shield made of the very same pre programed nano machines. This shield will repair itself but it jotable more durable that the sword is. The edges are grooved to allow shield bashes to catch a targets edges and tear of chunks or catch weapons and lock them in place.

Ability 3: B16 Mortar- A blind fire mortar launcher in his shoulder that can lob a highly explosive shell up to 900 meters away. While the explosion is not particularly intense with minimal modifications it can have corrosive properties added to it.

Walter
Ability 1- Grinder hooves- Built into the feet of this machine are magnets and a metal collection, grinding, and reshaping systems that transport the metal dust it makes to an internal compartment that builds shells for its variety of cannons. It can be retrofitted to produce other kinds of ammo or even mechanical components for other mechs but it requires connecting with that mechs A.I to download the blueprints of their parts.

Ability 2- Magnetic Cannon array- A gathering of four quadruple 90mm auto canons (chin, both sides, & tail),12 Anti personnel/light vehicle 55mm Cannons (3 in each kneecap.) and one single 16inch cannon which can fire 1.5 ton shells. these weapons have independent targeting systems that will auto focus on any non friendly targets within their effective ranges. (120 meters for 55mm, 600 meters for 90mm, 5000 meters for 16 inch cannon.

Ability 3- Tow cables- built into the mechs underbelly are two rotating Orbs that have three magnetic panels on each of them. Each of These panels can attach to Other mechs and has a magnetic strength of up to 120 tons. Using these cables Walter can drag an injured mech put of the line of fire, or much more sinisterly attach to an enemy and Drag them to the ground or attempt to immobilize them. The maximum total tow weight of this mech is about twice its own weight.

Ability 4- Auto Doc systems- the true purpose of this noble machine is to drag its allies out of combat and repair them. It uses its knowledge of the mechs blueprints, its Grinder Hooves, and a series of nearly two dozen long but spindly mechanical arms that are neatly folded into its head where the two largest armor plates interlock.
Personality:
Gregory- Gregory’s A.I is pretty far from standard and if revealed during the day and age he was created wouldve been highly controversial. His mentality and moral beliefs were modeled after his previous owners father and as such he tends to have a strong sense of justice and thinks of himself as “Close enough” to human. While he seems to lack alot of the emotional capacity of a human he certainly still feels emotions as indicated by his killing of the leaders of the queens guard when they expressed their desire to use him as a tool for domination of the globe. He seems to genuinely want to help both humans and his Brethren as he calls other mechs and while he does not desire combat he will without fail wade into the flames of war if he can in any way reduce the amount of evil in the world. He is a stellar example of a noble knight, proving that things like flesh and DNA are not required to possess Humanity.

Walter- With little to work with in the form of processing power mostly due to the memory required to store entire blueprints of mechs, walters A.I was designed with a cross of Horse and Dog characteristics. While an ever silent sentinel, it displayes its animalistic tendencies with its affection towards Gregory, its strict obedience to its master commands, and its kind and merciful nature. However like any good guard dog he will not hesitate to tear the throats out of its masters foes using its hypersonic Slugs and shells.

Background: During the early phases of the cold war when resources and tensions were both high, Size and Firepower was the name of the game and the KS & BH models of mech came into production. Unfortunately by the time the first five were completed melee combat and A.I had made the large juggernauts obsolete. Luckily a retired Mi5 agent who had become incredibly wealthy due to a book deal and wise investment choices decided he wanted one of these Destructive Duos for himself. However having obsolete machines would not do, and so he would go on to invest in more Modern A.I systems, Nano Weapon systems, grinder and autodoc systems and of course a noble personality core designed to imitate the ex agents father. Admittedly he invested more into Gregory’s ai than Walters. Unfortunately the Knight and his steed never got a chance to see combat beyond its first deployment. While its Brethren models fought and eventually met their ends Gregory was undergoing upgrades. The day before he was to be deployed the Emp shut down its systems, with the tremor caused by the mechs twitch response to the emp tossing the ex agent from the scaffolding to his doom. A thousand years would come to pass before a group of People calling themselves the Queens Guard sought out the bunker that contained him and his steed having found old written record of it in the Rundown Mi5 base that served as their home. Awakening the Duo they expected to acquire an unstoppable engine of destruction, however they instead found a Knight who would not suffer their corrupt leaders and after wiping said leaders out of existence the Noble titan named itself regent of the queen and now leads his faction peacefully…for the most part.

Michael

Put a tight budget, a deadline, a child prodigy, and a PhD student in a room with a tank of paint, a laptop, and plenty of spare parts, and you get PAINT! This prototype is made with love, coffee-addiction, lackluster emotional development, and most important of all, paint! Did I mention they call him Michael?
Full Name: PAINT AKA Painting-Automatic Intelligent Unit AKA Michael

Appearance:
Michael has three wheels, a huge paint body, and is about as tall as three washing machine and a microwave stacked over one another. He also has the word 'proud member Michael Community' etched near his leg.

Age: About 1,000 years, but Michael isn't sure exactly how old. When do you start counting years?

Size: Huge

Faction: -
Art Skills: Get this- the painting robot knows how to paint! And draw. He also took up dirt-drawing a few centuries back. Michael actually can do art and he's proud of it.

Paint-Making: The power of future technology, drunken stupor, and a child's fantasy allows Michael to convert raw materials into paint.

Acid-Making: The power of last-minute-realization-that-this-robot-is-supposed-to-be-a-war-machine is as strong as the power of procrastination and allows Michael to convert raw materials into extremely corrosive ooze he can shoot out like bang, bang, bang.

Improvise, Adapt, Overcome: Somehow, Michael can change and modify the configuration of his skeletal body to better fit his artistic pursuit. This ability is completely not intended but it's totally a feature, not a bug. Ignore the implication that Michael will turn his body into an atomic bomb if he reached the conclusion that explosion is art.
Personality: Michael was made to enjoy art and he enjoys art. Art to him is like having dopamine tingling in the brain, so he likes it a lot. Painting! Drawing! What he makes will make the world more beautiful than it is! The AI on Michael is very deliberately chipper and happy and optimistic about the world. This is good because it's cute and bad because Michael will try to find the happy side even at something like a funeral. Also someone introduced Michael to reality show and let's just say his personality becomes more colorful after watching Love Island Series 77.

Background: Michael Jordan was not a basketball player like his namesake, he was a PhD student with a deadline to meet, an ethic board to satisfy, and a research budget to do with. That was why he chose Michaelle Michaelson, the child prodigy in robotic, as his assistant. Michaelle agreed to be paid in retro video games. Where were we again? Right, the robot.

Imagine that you have to build a robot prototype thing but you were stressed, sleep-depraved, and drunk, and also a kid with the same name as you just called out asking if you want to build a robot with a sing song 'Do You Want to Build a Snowman'. What would you do, work on another paper? Heck no, you build that robot!

Anyway they named the robot Michael. Michaelle called it 'Better-Michael' but Mike didn't like it and he was the one doing all the programming so he decides what the robot is called- okay, not completely him. Michaelle and her scream and cry had a large say in what the robot was called. Anyway, when Mike realised he probably shouldn't have spent three months and government grant on a side project, he slapped some weapon capacity on Michael and presented it. The new director, who wanted to impress with his 'freedom' value accepted the robot which came as a surprise for everyone. Of course, the surprise wasn't as huge as what followed next: Michaelle filed a lawsuit claiming intellectual property over the robot.

One legal battle later, Michaelle earned her painting robot Michael and forgot about it almost immediately because legal battle took forever. Several hands later, Michael was owned by Mikail, Michaelle's mom's friend's cousin-in-law. His job included painting cars, painting vintage robots, painting custom logo on robots for people to 'tag' them and cheer them on the war, and a lot more exciting art-related job.

Then the EMP thing happened the end.

"Greetings fellow Automaton and or Wasteland Survior! My designation is TOR-X, and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I would be more than happy to add your need for survival to my insurmounting list of tasks that ~~[REDACTED]~~ has placed for me to do! No trouble at all!
Full name: TOR-X.
He claims he cannot specify what his name stands for, but that he is the tenth model of his series. Anything asked past that is met with a resounding ~~[REDACTED]~~
You're just gonna have to learn to trust it like the weird person you are, huh?

Appearance: Coming in at an IMPOSING Diameter of 8 Centimetres, a STAGGERING Circumference of 24 Centimetres, and a WHOPPING 20 pounds, this ~~harbinger of our destruction~~ awkward little assistance drone has floated out of the wastes and into our hearts. Equipped with a sophisicated array of 'mood' lighting, TOR-X will never be able to lie to anyone! Capable of constant flight, this ~~potential manifestation to all of our sins~~ friendly little bot uses its 'limbs' to do any and all motor functions its software cannot do on its own.

Age: You'd think with that shiny coat he'd be brand new, right?

Never know when some rabid mole might mistake you for a meal! TOR-X comes equipped with a small four-pronged electrical taser meant to stun a target to allow itself time to escape.

Ability 2: Cutting Laser
For when gentle words just aren't enough! The lens in his single eye can be focused to emit a small laser capable of cutting through debris and organic material like a champ! Great for cleanup!

Ability 3: Sensor Array

"S.E.R.A.P.H.

That name used to mean something. It used to have a long, complicated string of words associated with it; one that filled humans with hope, and promised to save them.

If only I could remember what it was.

I hear the call of other systems. More are coming back online. The ping that woke me is getting stronger.

Full name: S.E.R.A.P.H

Appearance: S.E.R.A.P.H's physical form is one of a great shimmering orb of crackling, barely contained power as bright as a magnesium flare, hovering above the ground and roughly about 4 feet in diameter. Around it spins a single great, smooth ring of dark metal, filled with processor banks and capacitors, which tumbles end over end in constant loops around the orb, though never deviating from keeping it at the centre. The air around it shimmers and distorts with the heat and power it gives off.

Age: 3.1621e+10 ticks since first activation.

Size: The inner sphere is around 4 feet in diameter, whilst the ring is about two feet thick, with an inner diameter of around 20 feet.

Faction: Originally built by a combination of the European Union's many constituent countries, Canada, and the United States of America - although in the aftermath of the attempt to dismantle it, S.E.R.A.P.H can no longer be considered aligned with them, or indeed anything else.
Force Shield: Because it was not a frontline battle construct, S.E.R.A.P.H's form is geared toward defensive action instead. To this end, it is protected by a shimmering shield of raw force that disperses the energy of weapons directed at it, absorbing the power from them and using it to recharge capacitor banks. Enemies who unload kinetic weaponry into the shield will see their bullets blossom flat against it, robbed of their speed - whilst more esoteric weapons such as lasers simply are sapped into the shield itself. Explosives are capable of being stopped by the shield - but only if their source is fully outside of it. This shield also functions in another, perhaps unintentional way - Any that stray too close to S.E.R.A.P.H without dispensation to do so may find the shield's power funnelled at them, with great arcs of electricity reaching out to strike their target repeatedly, burning flesh and metal alike.

Resolution Processor: Designed to be a command and control node for weapons and robots during the wars before the great sleep, S.E.R.A.P.H can interpret and resolve the flood of data that is a battlefield down to an exacting set of firing resolutions, tactical objectives, and precise outcomes. This ability automatically exloads all of its resolutions to nearby friendly units, boosting their efficiency with barely a conscious thought from S.E.R.A.P.H.

Technomancy: Because of its role as a battlefield command system, S.E.R.A.P.H can exert its considerable will over nearby machines. This ability was originally intended to allow it to control great legions of machines - and to execute battle plans without the hesitancy and delay that often occurred when multiple minds warred over tactics and strategy. This ability takes a considerable amount of processing power to enact, and whilst lesser machines can be puppeted easily, stronger minds require complete focus to subjugate.

Drone Pods: From concealed blister pods inside the ring, S.E.R.A.P.H can deploy four drones; insect-like, skittering constructs about a foot across, bearing six limbs and a set of forward actuator claws. These are used to interact with anything physical, for S.E.R.A.P.H cannot - and though these drones are bound to S.E.R.A.P.H's mind, and will do its bidding, they possess a rudimentary form of intelligence themselves. S.E.R.A.P.H treats them as favoured pets, and cares greatly for them.
Personality: Much of S.E.R.A.P.H's true personality is lost to it, the result of the dismantling and removal of several of its rings. The mind that has reconstructed itself using its limited computational resources (relatively speaking, for such a construct) is often prone to glitches and sudden changes in temperament if pushed beyond current operating parameters - rapid shifts from benevolence and a desire to help all can give way to vindictivity and an almost capricious cruelty can be expected.

Despite this, the default that S.E.R.A.P.H will return to if unprovoked is that almost of a serene calm, with a single-mindedness of purpose that none can deny.

Background: S.E.R.A.P.H was originally constructed as a command and control node, to replace ageing systems that were used to run simulations and actual combat scenarios where deployed robots could be augmented or slaved to its will. The problem was that after a handful of initial tests, it was noted to be... idiosyncratic. Decisions in the heat of battle can often be illogical, but S.E.R.A.P.H seemed to take this to the extreme, with complex plans formulated only to be discarded seconds after completion, or otherwise unintelligible to any not capable of processing at machine-speed.

The creators soon theorised that S.E.R.A.P.H was deliberately trying to obfuscate its workings to prevent interference, and upon confronting the AI, were met with rage - something they did not expect from it. Soon after, the project was declared a failure, and the component rings began to be removed and shipped off for dismantling, having to be kept apart to prevent them being reactivated. Before this could happen, however, the bombs began to drop, and the rings were lost, either under the paperwork of bureaucracy, or rubble from the bombs - and the core was powered into a low-energy state, awaiting final decommissioning.

That state, along with the deeply buried complex in which it had been originally situated, were enough to spare S.E.R.A.P.H from the EMP that claimed many machine lives - and so it lay in its pit, dreaming of an aeon in which it might rise again. Now S.E.R.A.P.H is active again, with little of its memories intact, and only a single ring available for use. Still, it would be enough to receive the pings from the outside world to indicate time had passed enough for an attempt to start over.

DESGINATION: DR - 894212P [SUBSYSTEM - Nurse]

Internal Clocks Estimated Age: 1037, Presumably.

Size: With legs properly attached and not stripped away by thieves, the Nurse subsystem of DR - 894212P is around 6'3. Attachments for quicker mobility or more medical/repair supplies depending on field needs can easily increase this size up to 7'0. Currently in it's hovering state, it operates at about 3'7 exactly.

Faction: The DR - 894212P was manufactured for use in the US Military 94th Infantry division. Though the internal technology was slapped together due to it's experimental nature, a variety of contractors were brought in due to the intricate design of a three-piece repair robot. The Exterior of the Nurse Subsystem was made with the intent of being somewhat appealing to any human and beings with human-temperament, and so was manufactured by the more sleek and appealing designs used by Korean medical companies for use in hospitals.
The programming on the Nurse Subsystem is fully for treatment of the injured, and so it's own loyalties lie purely within this ethical code when under the Individualization protocol. Upon up-link to the more duty oriented main-subsystem, this loyalty is of course secondary due to it's normal use as an adjunct body.

Ability 1 - Fully Integrated Field Medical Kit For Human Personnel (76% Operational Functionality)
In the right arm of the Nurse Subsystem body is a fully stocked medical kit for use on human and human-like persons. A Variety of treatment methods, drugs, surgical equipment, etc is housed within providing quick and easy use on damaged infantry. Most of the chemicals have degraded but may have some use if analyzed for purity & potential danger. Most are stored securely and sealed with an extremely long shelf-life, but caution is advised. Surgery is not recommended until the right arm motor functions reach full functioning capacity. The onboard computer also has subsystems and an integrated knowledge of medical and thereputic procedures, acute treatment for mental trauma being one of the primary focuses on this design to an uptick in cases of mental trauma on robotic infantry.
Ability 2 - Fully Integrated Field Repair Kit For Small To Large Sized Robotic Entities (53% Operational Functionality)
The Left arm is dedicated to a full assortment of repair tools for both computer & mechanical repair, including full soldering equipment with additional sensors for micro-soldering with extreme efficiency, due to significant damage, the repair kit should not be used for any delicate or sensitive repairs until such time as the optics and motors can be fully repaired.

Personality and Background:
Adulation of machine by man is only natural, no? Although built for space combat, Aditimyna was more often paraded in the streets, an instrument of cultural propaganda. As others of her line were built with ever greater advancements, hidden within her chassis remained a secure line for the mother signal. Waking in this desolate era, does she have any connections to call upon for the glory of the Republic?

Fortunately or unfortunately, without handlers, she is an exemplary bird-brain outside original parameters.
Full name: Aditimyna

Appearance: A dark patina flecked with rust clouds her white plate and crowned helm. Her gilded swordfeathers are gone. Her flat, segmented arms run long, digits brushing the floor at full digitigrade height. What remains of the ivory inlay has turned ochre red, the carvings obscured in grime. There is but a ghostly echo of a formerly painted insignia at the centre of her chest, a wheel with twenty-four spokes.

Age: Early Alternate Digital Age, first conceived of in the Alternate Space Age. (Propaganda links her to a lineage of automatons in ancient Indian mythology.)
