The New Continent
The New continent had been known about for many years prior, but was never settled nor explored too well. Sought out by Refugees of the collapsing Shadow Continent, the Races of Felis, Shapeshifter and Snow Elf, retreated here and began rebuilding their Lives. There they found another race of beings still in the final stages of Evolution, they appeared as Shapeshifters without the animalistic traits, and were dubbed Humans. The Humans were living in small territorial tribes when the other Races first crossed over, and were left alone, despite the Humans knack for curiosity. The Snow Elves of course took to the Northern most part of the New Continent, claiming the icy tundra as their new Home. The Shapeshifters, seeing as the Human Tribes were mostly located in the central part of the new land, ventured further south, finding a small land bridge connecting a half of the size part of the continent. This land was perfect for them, with all the suited biomes for their kind to nest in. The Felis were similar to the Snow Elves, and wanted a more isolated region. Thus a chain of islands off the eastern coast of the New Continent, was declared the new Home for the Felis Clans. Settling in well, the newcomer Races faired well, and approximately nine thousand and five hundred years later welcomed the Human Kingdom of Centralia into their midst.

Kingdom of Centralia
Main and founding Race: Human
Current King: Anduin V

Kingdom was founded 400 years ago by Anduin Solar, uniting the many scattered Human tribes in the central part of the continent. Predominantly Human with many other Races settling in over the centuries, has become known widely as the Worlds Center. During this time, the Vampire population began settle down and live peacefully among their human counterparts. Popular for it’s Mage’s Guild, and its ability to accept all races as equals. The Capital City is a beacon of prosperity and peace, guarded by the famous Sol Guardsmen, currently led by Field Marshall Nameless Trax. The landscape consists or fields, grassy plains, mountainous regions and white sandy beaches along its coastlines. Given their central location, Centralia has the largest Trade Ports in its eastern coast, catering to it’s sister nations.

Sunbath Isles
Main and founding Race: Felis; a race of anthropomorphic cats averaging three feet in height and weight depending on their habits.
Current Rulers: A Group made of Five Elders of the Five Clans, the Elders give the last say in any disputes.
The Clans of Felis are older than most Races, with their history predating even that of their humanoid allies. The Felis keep to themselves and do not often venture off their islands, any who do are Adventuring or Tradesmen. It is uncommon to see many Felis on the mainland. Easygoing and considered tough advisory’s by most Nations, wether by the Quill, Steel, or Mana. Though considered solitary, they are a friendly and loyal species, and very intelligent. Their Nation resides just of the south eastern coastline of Centralia, and north east of The Iron Woods territory.

The Iron Woods
Main and Founding Race: Shapeshifters; A race of Humanoids who can change at will into several different Anthropomorphic Animals, most widely know for its Wolf, Bear, Hyena, Hawk, and Draconic.
Current Ruler: Lykos Blackfoot
The Shapeshifters have always been proud and hardworking, loyal to their own kind. Since the nomadic Humans went from small tribesmen to a dawning civilization nearly four hundred years ago, they have often been at odds with one another over territory disputes. However, with the Iron Central Treaty 300 years old now, the two Kingdoms have not had any major issues between them. Shapeshifters appear like humans, but have identifying features which signify the animal they shift into. Wolf tails, Boar tusks, Bear ears, Hyena hair, Draconic scales. Wolves shape into upright anthropomorphic wolves, with Bears and Hyenas resembling this respectively. Hawks form bird-like feet and talons with hawk heads, growing feathers all over their body, and wings sprouting from their backs. Draconic’s form lizard like hands and feet, with dragon wings and horns. Their faces remain human-like with their scales and teeth more prominent. Their Land is south of Centralia, connected by a small land bridge, where the border is shared. Half the size of its northern sister nation, The Iron Woods is mostly made up of a dense wooden topography with a snowy mountain range and large desert on its western side.

Kingdom of Tundrass
Main and founding race: Snow Elves
Current Ruler: Apollo Delphi
The Snow Elves reside in the Northern most part of the continent, icy plains and mountainous regions dot the landscape. Their average height was around 6’2”, with near icy white skin and blue or purple shaded eyes, with pointy ears. The whole race is very regal and noble. Like the Felis, Snow Elves are even more rare to see south of their Kingdom, this is due to their pride and Solidarity from other Races. However, they are not shy to peace and assisting their fellow Kingdoms. They’re help during the Vampiric War was considered a saving grace by some. The race is renowned for their ability to shape steel. Elvish weapons are some of the best weapons created using a forge enhanced with magic. They are so well made that only a rare selected few, non-Snow Elf beings, wield such steel with the Snow Elf Kings respect.

The Shadow Continent
Inhabitable Landmass lying east across the ocean, ravaged by magical storms and feral demons. Thousands of years of unchecked Magic abuse and Demonic creations led to the formation of magical storms and the earth itself creating an uninhabitable environment in which only demonic spawn could survive. This forced the Races of Felis, Snow Elf, and Shapeshifter, to leave their home of origin. Seeking a new life on the New Continent. Every Race except for Humans, can be traced back to the Shadow Continent from before it became a land of chaos. Nearly 10,000 years ago, Felis, Shapeshifter, and Snowelf, all called this continent home. According to Ancient texts from their combined research, this is where Intelligent life first started.

Magic and Mana
Magic is created by a being with Mana, about fifty percent of all intelligent life is born with Mana being produced inside them, with this percentage growing steadily over the centuries. It’s ranges of use depend on its Dwellers choice of Living, from agricultural to industrial, and steadily for Combat or research. Magic can be divided into many different Elements and Types, from Fire and Water to Gravity and Transformation. A beings mana can trained, from having vast reserves to channeling powerful spells. Rare few are born with Magic affinities, some pick up a single magic type quickly, while an even rarer few can be capable of learning any or all types. This is known as possessing an Arcanum. The Human Mage Silas of Riven, used his gift of Arcanum to learn every type of Magic, but at this cost he became an Immortal Being. With the curse of knowing he will eventually be the last living thing, as the world slowly wastes away. While most Magic is allowed, few are outlawed by every nation, examples being Necromancy and Demonic Conjuration. In history, some beings have come forth with Magic capable of bending the fabric of Reality itself.

Recent Major Events
Fifty years prior, the Nations Banded together to combat an Evil Force of Humanoids known as Vampires, this War had lasted 10 years, and is known as The Vampiric War. What started as a band of Brigands led by a Vampire named Vlad Alucard, grew into a full fledge Extinction level threat, one catered to turning the land into another Shadow Continent.

Vampire Race
This race started nearly 8,000 years ago, as Humans with an affliction, then developed into a recognized Race of Humanoid Species. With the Race’s original start unknown, Vampires mostly lived among Human and Shapeshifter kind, within the Centralia and Iron Woods respectively at their beginnings. A Vampires age limit is still relatively unknown, none have ever died of old age, only by receiving wounds to their heart, or complete decapitation of the head. Their appearance is Human with slit yellow or red eyes, mildly pointy ears, and fingernails that could form into claws at will. They were fast, strong, considered intelligently smarter than the average human with all their senses being heightened. For thousands of years, Vampires have never been known to live in a group larger than immediate family. It is said that once the children begin their own family, they must move out and start it elsewhere and keep relationships with other Vampires to a minimum. This was kept as an unofficial law, enforced by an Unknown Speculation. According rumors by Vampires, it was the will of their Creator and Original Vampire, who would eliminate Vampires who form into groups consisting of outside-immediate-family members. It wasn’t until Vlad Alucard, that the almost entirety of the Vampire population was brought together under a single banner, and it almost cost the livelihood of all life on the continent. After the events of the Vampiric War, Vampires were frowned upon, a very few sum of them denied Vlad Alucard’s call to arms.A select few even fought for the Allied Kingdoms, with most eventually losing their lives in the War. Currently their total population is unknown, but considered to be well under a hundred scattered across the continent. It is said the last Battle fought, was by one of the Mages Guild own Council Members, who wiped out the remaining Vampire Forces. Only one thing is brought up about that Battle, a single phrase; “If the Vampire Race is to be brought to a crippling knee, then by their own Maker it should be done...”
Notes:
• Purebloods are born as Vampires
• Fledglings a Humans who were turned
• Humans are the only Race that Vampirism effects, others become deathly sick and die if the symptoms are not treated
• Purebloods can only turn by bites
• Fledglings can only turn by having their victims ingest their blood
• The Original Vampire is the only one who can pass on Vampirism through either method.

Mage’s Guild
Council Members: Silas of Riven an Immortal Human Mage, Clear Sky a Vampire Mage, Lykaeon Blackfoot a Wolf Shapeshifter Mage, Galen Whitepaw a Felis Mage

The Guild of Mage’s is as old as the Kingdom of Centralia, formed by Silas and Clear Sky, with Galen being invited as the Felis Council Member. Lykaon is the fourth Shapeshifter Mage Council Member, the first was a Bear Shifter named Markus Brownclaw. A widely known Organization of Magic User’s who accept payments of coin to solve problems, differing from slaying monsters or demons to exploring dungeons or ancient crypts. During the Vampiric War, the Mage’s Guild supported the Allied Nations with their healing magic and bombardment spells. The Guild operates on a Rank system to determine the severity of each Jobs threat to the Mage or Mages; D(easy, beginner), C, B, A, S(Hardest), and S+ being jobs only given to Council Members and/or a select few. The Guild Members themselves are ranked to determine which Job they can accept; Iron(lowest and beginner), Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Master Elite(Mages who are of Grandmaster level but at not serving as Council Members), Grandmaster(reserved for Council Members only). Mage’s can apply to accept jobs or assignments from the contract board, if their Rank matches with difficulty set by the job, the contract is now theirs to complete. S and S+ tier contracts require a sign off from all four of the of the current Grandmasters. This is also true for Rank placements and promotions. Each and every Mage is given a magical pendant, which becomes their Identification badge, which changes according to the Rank they are given by the Council. Upon entry into the Guild, every Mage converses with the Council, then receives an Iron level pendant that is then bound to them. If the wearer believes they are worthy of a higher rank, they may dual a Council Member in a 1v1 match to prove themself. This is also true for each promotion request or assigned by a Council Member. As such, there have only been three Mages in the Guilds history to obtain the rank of Master Elite, they were the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Council Members replacing Markus Brownclaw.

Characters

Leo Cerulean
• Male or Tom, Felis Race
• 52 years old (average age of death is 900)
• Magic User, possesses the Arcanum Affinity
• Stands two and a half feet tall, dark gray-blue fur, and two starry-night eyes.
• Wears a light leather padded vest with sewn blue clothe half sleeves, and dark brown shorts. He carries a brown leather satchel slung over his shoulder and has a three foot long cleaver sword, strapped to his back. Upon his head sits a faded dark blue wizards cap, the top portion is squished down and back.
• As a Felis, Leo is very neutral driven and naturally curious of the world. Having a Happy go-lucky mindset and a hunger to learn magic, has given him a positive outlook on life, never sweating the small stuff. He can be a little silly at times, often tripping over himself. He’s never shy from proving himself to those who doubt him or try to be-little him.
• Leo’s history is that of most Felis growing up, although being given a heroic name and gifted with the Arcanum, he’s never grown too big for his fur. When he began to reach his maturity at 50 years old, Leo was presented with the choice to venture to the Mainland, and join the Mages Guild in Centralia’s Capital City. To much excitement, Leo was more than happy to accept.
• He enjoys cooking, almost as much as learning Magic.

Caesar Valentine
• Male Vampire, pureblood
• 156 years old, mostly keeps his age withheld
• Uses Telekinesis Magic, Blood Magic, and Illusion Magic
• Mages Guild Member, ranked Platinum
• At 6’2”, Caesar has an athletically muscular build, light tan skin and messy blonde hair, with bright slit crimson red eyes.
• Wearing black leather pants, swashbuckling boots, and a burgundy navy admirals overcoat on top a red long-sleeve. He carries around a dark brown leather stuff-sack, and has a prestigious looking Calvary Sabre resting on the left side of his belt. Two different color sashes hang from his belt on the opposite side, one a bright red, the other a darker faded red.
• Caesar is a very confident and charismatic soul, often more than not, it gets him into trouble. Ambitious, cunning, and loyal to Family. After the Vampiric War, his attitude has become dimmer, picked up heavy drinking as a consequence. He usually avoids getting into groups for Jobs, and really only converses with the Council Members themselves, in order to take on more dangerous Jobs alone. Many Guild Members have rumored him to have a Death Wish, but He still won’t go without a bloody fight.
• Caesar was born from the oldest Vampire Bloodline, said to date back to the Original. His parents are known only to himself, taking his Mothers maiden name, and raised with his Twin Sister. For a hundred years their Mother trained them and lived peacefully. Unfortunately, their mother was mysteriously murdered after she began speaking out against Vlad Alucard as he began recruiting Vampires to his cause. When the Vampiric War started, Caesar and his Sister joined with Mages Guild and fought alongside the Allied Kingdoms, learning that Vlad Alucard is their biological Father and their Mothers Murderer. Even after the War ended, they were still treated with fear and animosity, along with the few scattered Vampire families who stayed out of the War entirely. This drove the Sister in fits of anger, and eventually seclusion, even from her own twin brother. Caesar carried on in the Mages Guild, picking up vices and striving to move on, wether in Life... or Death.
• Caesar has since picked up heavy drinking over the last 40 odd years, as such he carries around a large flask, that seems to never go empty.

Black Frost
• Male, Snow Elf
• Only 35 years of age, still considerably young for his Race
• Ice Magic, Black Ice Magic. Uses a form Ice Magic, long ago his Family created whats called Black Ice Magic. Harder, appearing black in color, and gives off an evil aura.
• Stands 6’7”, considered very muscular for a Snow Elf. His skin is a dark gray, another difference from the usual frosty white Snow Elf race. His eyes are a dark blue, sporting thick black hair braided back into a ponytail, reaching to his upper back. On the right side of his face, is a pure white butterfly tattoo, magically put there to mark him for a great Sin.
• Black wears traditional Snow Elf white and silver garments, more so looking like a proper butler, with sewn in elven steel plating. Upon his back, he shoulders a large back pack, carrying for himself and his “Companion/Sire”.
• Despite being raised into Hate and Selfishness, Black has shown to care for others, and devote great loyalty to those who’ve earned it. Quiet, reserved, and protective to a fault. He’d sooner die himself, than let his closest allies fall to ruin.
• Born into the Frost Noble family, during a time when they began causing mayhem and destruction to the Snow Elf Kingdom. Their use of Black Ice Magic, a type known only to the Frost Family, made it difficult to quell their reign of chaos. Black was forced into such Hatred and Chaos from a young age, from torturing to executions. When the Noble Houses of Tundrass finally brought down the Frost House, Black was the sole survivor. Since he was young, and displayed much remorse for his Family’s crimes, he was given a chance to redeem himself. Placed as a Ward under an agreeing Noble Family, given a magical marking to signify his Sins, Black would serve to one day be free of his Family’s Sins. To this day, Black has grown close with his Sire, Triton, the son of the Noble House he was placed under as a Ward. Often he his mistaken as a Butler, due to his willingness to please and wait on Triton hand and foot. It can be somewhat embarrassing, sometimes.
• Black’s loyalty is first and foremost to Triton, but he has never been shy to protect, or serve others he deems worthy.

Triton Blight
• Male, Snow Elf
• 213 years of age. ‘Improper’ for snow elves to share their age.
• Ice magic, water magic, swordplay
• Stands 6’5” with an athletic build. His skin is a pale white like most traditional snow elves. His eyes are a shining icy blue.
• Triton wears an elegant white tunic with traces of blue and silver accents. The fabric is woven with elven metal and enchantments that provide superior protection. Tunics of this fashion are only worn by the highest of noble families whose status falls under only the reigning Delphi family.
• Calm, cool, and calculated, Triton is not one to speak up often but when he does people tend to listen. He poured himself into any study put in front of him allowing to rise to a high status even within the nobility. His affinity for ice and water magic caught the eye of King Apollo himself during the Vampire war. His natural skill with blades as well as magic proved to be a tremendous help on several occasion. After the conclusion of the war, Triton found his studies of the outside world weren’t entirely accurate to what he experienced. Feeling a calling to the outside world and to learn for himself what was out there he proceeded to travel to the kingdoms to broaden his own horizons and learn firsthand about the world around him. After several years he was called back to serve his king with a local matter of a rebelling house within the tundrass. After the conclusion Triton accepted the Frost boy and their at once forced relationship turned shifting into a strong friendship with an unbreakable bond.
• Born into House Blight, one of the original three families that traveled to the new world from the shadowlands. House Blight has always been top supporters of the King and are one of the foremost powerful houses amongst the classes of nobility. Throughout the Frost rebellion House Blight led the final fight with their resourcefulness and an unlikely ally. Triton’s father spoke for the sole survivor, volunteering to take the boy in and start him on a path of redemption. The boy was placed as a ward to Triton and so started their history together.
• Sent on a mission by his king to the Mage’s guild to rise the ranks to be grandmaster and representative for all the snow elf kingdom. His loyalty is still to his King and people first and foremost. Triton has been entrusted by King Apollo himself to evaluate the Mages guild prior to working his way up, making sure that it is the type of organization the snow elves would be proud to be apart of and support.

Aayla Padfoot
• Female, Shapeshifter, Bear
• 21. Younger for mage guild attendees
• Beast magic, empowerment.
• Stands at 5’4” with an athletic build. Long dirty blonde hair and emerald green eyes. She is an attractive girl with two bear ears poking through her hair and a small tail below the small of her back. Otherwise has the appearance of a human female.
• Ayala wears a feminine enchanted leather armor with forest green accents. Her armor consists of vambraces, a sleeveless fitted top that ends in a short skirt, and leather pants trailing down into her combat boots.
• Fiery and mysterious. Not much is known about her past. She was picked up by Lykaon at a young age when she tried to steal from him. Impressed by her abilities he offered her an out to life on the streets and sent her to his people to train. A few years later with proper instruction her abilities had grown and she was transferred to the mages guild to grow in power.
• Lykaon has remained silent about her past outside of the council, allowing her to truly be her own person. She is headstrong and reserved, keeping her distance from others waiting to work with someone she can admire.

Near the outskirts of Capital City, Centralia, stood a large tavern with blue banners hanging from its sides. This is the Mage’s Guild HQ.

Inside the main hall, sitting away from the rest of the cheery Mages, was an infamous Mage. Known to be very secluded and always drinking, Caesar Valentine, a Vampire Mage. Since Vampires were still being outcasts from the Vampiric War 40 years prior, many preferred to keep their distance. For Caesar, as one of the few Vampires who fought against his own kind then, this was something he had foreseen. It didn’t bother him much, and allowed him to have peace and quiet all to himself. It also helped that he was of Platinum Rank in the Guild, most that hang around the hall are below him in rank. Currently, he awaited word from the Council, about his next Job.

“Much appreciated Mister!” The cute call came from a grey-blue furred Felis, as he waved gleefully to the farmer who gave him a ride to the main crossroads outside Capital City, from here he would walk to the Guild HQ. Leo Cerulean, a young Felis at 52 years of age, shuffled into his satchel to take out a small note, “Alrighty! Time to Learn me some Magic!”

In the highest room of the Mage’s Guild HQ, kept secured in its own space of reality, was the Mage’s Council. Here sat four beings who stood above all Mage’s, holding the title of Grandmaster. Though it is a little unfair, seeing as two are Immortal, one is only two thirds into his lifespan, and the last is now the Strongest to ever hold his seat. Silas of Riven, a human man appearing in his 40’s, wearing heavy grey robes. Clear Sky, a female Vampire, wearing thin white robes and a white veiled witches hat. Galen Whitepaw, a dark blue furred Felis Tom, wearing black and grey robes and sporting a small wizards hat over one ear. Lykaon Blackfoot, a male Wolf Shapeshifter, being forced to wear his robes as per Clear Sky’s insistence. ”I’d say we did pretty good, obviously this is the oddest group we’ve assembled, but still pretty good.” Silas gestured with a shrug, watching as Galen’s Archive Magic gave them magic screens, displaying all their candidates. Clear Sky sighed indifferently, while Galen starred at his fellow Felis on the screen, impatiently awaiting his brethren’s arrival.

The bustling streets full of people parted as two foreigners made their way towards the mages council. Triton Blight walked steadily with eyes forward followed by his companion and friend, Black Frost. Triton barely noticed the stares of the citizens. It was like this anywhere other than the Tundrass. Snow elves rarely strayed far from home as they mostly keep to themselves. The two stood well above the other races in height so prying eyes always followed. Triton was of royalty and carried himself with a certain stature. Well mannered and intellectual he was ready for his next step in the mage guild. He and Black would be the first of their kind to join. The two paused as a wagon pulled away freeing their path. On the other side stood the Mage’s guild. “Well Black, let us see for ourselves the glory of the mages guild.” He said, unable to help feeling a bit excited.

Lykaon itched his side, the robes causing him discomfort. He was a large muscular man with wolf like features and didn’t like being restrained. “I’m surprised there’s not more chatter about the two elves between you three.” He said to them. “King Apollo himself sent them. What do you think about that, hmm? What about you Clear Sky?” He pried, looking at her with a teasing smile. Of all the Gramdmasters, Lykaon had the hardest time staying too serious.

Clear Sky sighed at the remark, “The one of note is Triton Blight, first son of a very distinguished Noble Frost Elf Family, accompanied by his friend and ward, Black Frost. Triton comes with great recommendation, Apol- ahem, King Apollo hopes that he’ll become the first Frost Elf to sit on the Council.” She explained diligently. Silas smiled but kept his eyes on the magic screens, “A tall mountain he’ll have to climb, lets hope he brought some rope.”
Galen’s ear twitched ominously, causing the group to pause, “It would seem our anticipated guests are here, you’re up Lykaon.”

Standing just behind Triton, at six foot and seven inches, was Black Frost. His darker colored skin and thicker hair, along with a muscular build. Black took his pride in serving his Lord, Triton, while also being a good friend. “Indeed my Lord, may it serve us well.”

Just down the street, Leo spotted the Frost Elf duo approaching the Guild as well, and with his curiosity peaked he began running to them. Unfortunately the crowd was becoming to thick for him, so with a small gust of wind magic, Leo was bouncing from building to building. Sliding to a slow as he plopped down to the ground just behind the two Elves as they entered the Guild.

Triton turned around and eyes the Felis curiously. “Quite an entrance, little one. I wondered if you were headed to the guild when I noticed you on the rooftops.” He said with a warm smile and a noble salute bringing his fist to his chest.

Suddenly a large door opened at the far end of the hall and an intimidating shapeshifter stepped through, somehow making the doorway feel small. His rough exterior melted away when the man smiled. His canines were noticeably wolf like. “Welcome, welcome to the Mage’s guild. We have been anxiously awaiting your arrival. If you three would please follow me.” His gravely voice boomed through the hall, easily cutting through the noise of all the attendees enjoying themselves in the great hall. Lykaon eyed Caesar with a sly look before turning back through the door in which he came.

Triton took in his surroundings before continuing forward. Clearly even here snow elves were an unusual sight. Many eyes were on him and his companion.

Leo eyed the tall elf with smirk, then promptly returned the salute, “Not quite as noticeable as you, my friend.” He replied with a tip of his hat as an informal greeting. Black made a mental note to keep his awareness about his surroundings, course he was not surprised Triton spotted the little Felis. After getting invited by the giant Shapeshifter, the trio followed.

Caesar let out a deep sigh, downing his mug before getting up, following the group through the door. As the door closed, a magic barrier encased it, only a Master Rank Mage could open the door now.

As the group entered into the large dark staircase, they suddenly walked into an open room. Surrounding them were five chairs, three were taken already. Leo shuffled to the front, having sniffed out his brethren walking in. In the back, Caesar made split second eye contact with Clear Sky, before folding his arms and going lean on the wall nearby. “Ah, welcome, welcome, good to see some new faces. Let me introduce ourselves, I am Silas of Riven,” Gesturing to the slender woman next to him, “This is Clear Sky, and our astute compatriot in the small hat, is Galen Whitepaw.” He added motioning to the dark blue Felis. “Our final member and certainly not the least, Lykaon Blackfoot. Welcome to the Mages Guild Council Chambers!” After a few seconds of silence, Clear Sky shook her head, “This is why we don’t let you do the speeches anymore Silas.”
“Indeed,” Galen spoke as Silas retreated into his chair in shame, “Right, well since we already know who you all are, why don’t introduce yourselves to each other.”

Triton stepped forward immediately positioning himself to see everyone in the room. Including the vampire on the wall in the back. “I am Triton Blight of the Snow Elves.” He said steadily, choosing to leave off his titles. “It’s nice to meet you all in person.” Triton added to the council members.

Lykaon took to his seat batting Galen’s hat askew with a carefully accurate flick of his wolf tail. A friendly wink followed. An ongoing joke that “Dogs chase cats.” He nodded to Triton after he spoke. Triton was not only a well known warrior mage amongst his kind, but also a familiar face amongst King Apollo’s political team. ‘So this is the elf Old Apollo has sent to be his voice.’ The shapeshifter thought to himself. His eyes then shifted to the larger elf beside him.

Silas made a mental note of this one, he certainly had the formality of a Snow Elf noble. Clear Sky nodded her appreciation, while Galen straightened his hat, which the tip then came back and poked Lykaon again. Next was the biggest of them, a tall darker skinned Snow Elf, “My name is Black Frost, Ward of the Noble Blight Family House, and personal Aid to Master Triton. His safety and well-being is my top priority.” He boomed deeply, his voice matching his height and stature. There was a brief pause, causing an awkward momentary glance at Triton from everyone else.

As Black stepped back, positioning himself behind Triton and to the left, the smallest of the newcomers took his place next. “Hello, I am Leo Cerulean of the Sunbath Isles. It’s truly wonderful to be here.” He meowed happily, his wide grin causing the whole room to feel a warmth in their hearts. The stern faced Clear Sky nodded in appreciation, ‘So Cute!’, She thought to herself while keeping her composure. Galen sat like a proud papa, watching their child achieve the milestone of taking their first steps. Silas stroked his beard curiously, his eyes moving from each of the three newcomers, measuring them by the level at which their Mana sat a neutral form. Triton’s mana was by far the most honed and leveled of the three, clearly Apollo sent the right mage for the First Snow Elf Council Member. Black’s was the lowest in terms of source, but it was nonetheless quite trained, it was unfortunate that it was tainted by darkness. Hopefully that wouldn’t be trouble down the road. Leo’s was the largest in source, though it was less honed and refined compared to the other two, not surprising as he possessed the Arcanum attribute. Excitement welled up inside Silas, overjoyed to see where this group would go from here.

The brief silence after Leo was broken by the sound of a chugging liquid, everyones eyes turned to he back of the room, where the man who’d followed them in was pouring rum down his throat. He paused when he noticed the stares, finishing his drink and tightened the cap before shoving back into his coat. “Oh, yeah, names Caesar. Caesar Valentine of the.... Vampire... Race?” He stumbled for the words, clearly not very invested in the introductory part this meeting. Clear Sky put a hand on her face and shook her head, Galen sighed deeply, while Silas stifled a chuckle. Leo raised an eyebrow in curiosity, while Black ignored the man all together, paying such rudeness no mind.

“Alrighty lads, it’s a pleasure to meet you all. Continuing off the introductions, we’ll assign you a rank based on your mana aptitude, and then we’ll send ya off on your very first Job. The Fifth member to your group is already there, scouting ahead, she can be a quiet one but she is skilled.” Silas explained to them as he handed the three their own blank pendant. “This is a magic embedded pendant, it will act as your identification to the Guild and any other major organizations, it also displays your rank in the Guild. Observe.” He gestured over to Caesar, who held up his own pendant, looking as though it was made out of solid Platinum. “The ranks are as follows, Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Master Elite, and Grandmaster. Usually we have you spar with us to gauge where you should be ranked, since we are in a bit of a rush to send you off, I’ve already sized you up myself.” Silas smiled as he tapped each of their pendants. Leo’s changed from Iron to Silver, Black’s did the same, while Triton’s went to Gold. “Should you disagree with my choice, you are welcome to try for a higher rank, after you complete your first job.” He added with a subtle challenge to his words.

Leo looked at his pendant, then drew a magical necklace to it before slipping it around his neck, “Nope, this will make the journey more fun!” He exclaimed confidently. Black felt mildly unimpressed with his own rank, but he stared at Triton’s, showing concern that his Lord should be of a higher status. Caesar glances at his own, before putting it away. “Any questions?” Silas asked putting his hands on his hips, giving them a big grin.

Triton put a hand on Black’s shoulder. As if reading his thoughts. “It’s only temporary and doesn’t change our worth. We decide that friend.” He said privately in their native elven language. He put his own medallion away. “What is the mission?” Triton asked.

Lykaon chuckled at Tritons initiative. “Straight to the point eh? Ah it’s an exciting change having our first Snow Elf members. We have nothing but respect for your people and your King, don’t we Clear Sky?” He said trying to compose himself due to how funny he thought he was.

“Yes, the upmost Respect, unlike for those who tend to chase their own tails.” Clear Sky responded in kind, keeping her dignified composure. Galen stifled a laugh as Silas nodded side to side, admitting that was a good comeback. “The mission for you four here, is to head out south, roughly five miles west of Rohan Town. There, you’ll meet up with Aayla, once there she’ll give you the updated version of what I’m about to tell you.” Silas explained as his voice got serious at the end, “Two weeks ago we got a letter about some strange magical anomalies, from enraged powered up animals, to trees snatching people off the ground. Over 30 have been wounded, seven have been killed. The Towns Guard attempted to investigate, Aayla’s last report confirmed they were all killed, the last seven to go near that part of the forest. As Mages, you need to have a strong connection to Magic, especially when in Nature. Investigate the Forest, discover the root of this problem, and solve it. Any Questions?” Silas explained before taking a seat in his chair. Leo scratched his ears and then shook his head, “Nah, I think I have a good idea of what to do.” He replied happily. Black nodded his acknowledgment, Caesar just took another swig from his flask.

"No questions that can be answered here." Triton answered justly. Lykaon grinned. "This meeting is adjourned then! Safe travels, we will eagerly await your report." He said as he waved them out the door.

As the three men turned to start out the door, Leo fiddle with a magic aura in his paws before it engulfed the group, blinking them out of room. Silas narrowed his eyes in severe thought, while Galen pulled his hat down to cover his embarrassment, Clear Sky felt a vein pop in her forehead. “Did He just...” She started impatiently.
“Oh yeah, without a doubt, he just used a blink spell.” Silas started to chuckle, “Galen, you’re protégé does realize the barrier on this room has its own space in reality right?” He asked as he laughed more. Galen sighed as he waved his paw to display his archive magic board before him, “Indeed, luckily it seems He noticed this in time to cast it again. Looks like they’ll be right on top of their rendezvous location...”
Cleary relaxed a little, “Well, at least they-“
“Wait, technically they are on top, just... a few hundred feet in the air.” Galen corrected himself. Silas wiped a tear away from laughter, “Well, if his Lordship Triton survives them all, he really does deserve that Council Seat!”

Roughly five hundred feet above the rendezvous point....
“WHAT THE SNOW DID YOU DO!” Black yelled out as the four of them plummeted to the forest below. Caesar had his arms folded as he spun around slowly, a disgruntled expression covered his face, “I think this is the first time I’ve felt sober... I hate it.”
“Ah kinda forgot abouw twhe Cwouncils Chwamber’s barrier, we should cwount ourselves wlucky, we cwould have died wif I didn’t nowtice thawt sunner!” Leo screamed out as he held onto Triton’s head, his cheeks flopping in the wind. “WHAT!” Black and Caesar yelled at the same time. “And Get your paws of his Lordship you clumsy kitten!” Black followed up as he attempted to climb towards Him and Triton.

Triton grabbed Leo by the scruff and calmly handed him to Black. The elf began muttering a charm and reaching out towards the group. The air turned icy cold as snow began fall around them. The world slowed as the descended down until they were a few feet above the ground. The spell dispersed and Triton landed perfectly on his feet.

Caesar landed with a stumble for balance, Black with hefty thud before dropping the small feline in his grasp, “Well done My Lord, as expected of such grandeur.” He praised with a curt bow. Leo dusted himself off and gave Triton a pat on the leg, “Yes yes, well done, glad we have some talent other than myself.” He stated before glancing around, “Well, this is where we meet our fifth member.” He mewed out loud, ignoring the burning glares from Black and Caesar. Taking out his flask, Caesar used this moment to size up his company, first there was the annoying Felis, seemed incapable but that was just a distraction from fact He was actually a very gifted Mage. The Big Guy, Black, there’s a sense of darkness about him but it was overshadowed by the absolute fealty to his comrade. The Lord Elf himself, Triton, hard to read but it was obvious he’s combat tested and seen a fair share of battle.

Triton released an invisibility spell as two curved blades appeared on his back. Elven steel, awarded to him by King Apollo himself. The blades were engraved with elven writing, signifying the powerful enchantments woven in the steel. He could feel eyes on them from outside the current group. Focusing his eyes he could make out two brown ears hidden in the bushes a hundred yards out.

Aayla sat crouched as she observe the rag tag group that was to be her squad. She sighed deeply as she didn’t enjoy working with others. She knew of Caesar based on what the othe guild members had said about the vampire. The rest were new to her. She paused as she looked at the elves. She get her jaw drop a little bit. She had yet to see an elf let alone meet one. A shiver went down her spine as she noticed one of the elves staring right at her. The slightly smaller one. He had a Royal look about him. Her cover was blown so she emerged from the bushes. Aayla wore feminine leather armor. Her armor consisted of vambraces, a sleeveless fitted top that ends in a short skirt, and leather pants trailing down into her combat boots. She had longe dirty blonde hair and was an attractive girl. Almost human except for the two brown bear ears that poked through her hair and a little brown tail just below the small of her back. “Well it’s about time you all showed up. I’m Aayla, who are you?” She asked as she walked up to them, shorter than all but the Felis.

“Hiya! Names Leo Cerulean, Silver rank Mage!” The Small Felis spoke proudly, as excited as ever. Caesar made no notion, He’d seen Aayla around with Lycaon, but he’d never officially met her. Though with his reputation in the Guild, She’d probably heard of him plenty, and to that was enough. Black eyed the short Shapeshifter Woman, then started to introduce Triton in his usual fashion. A hand cut him off before he spoke up, “Please, let your Lord at least speak up for himself every now and then, savvy?” Caesar intruded almost pleadingly, fearing another long and boring introduction. Black felt his cheeks burn with embarrassment, but he looked at Triton for further instructions.

“Caesar has a point. Amongst this group, titles mean nothing. I am Triton Blight, this is Black Frost. He means no ill will.” Triton said patting Black’s shoulder reassuringly.

Aayla noted Caesar’s distaste and wasn’t surprised by it. His reputation precedes him. “Pleasure.” She replied half heartedly. Triton could tell she was uncomfortable in a group this big. Aayla’s nose twitched. “I have the trail for an enraged animal. It smells stronger then most trails like this I have followed, be on your guard.”

Blacks shoulders sunk from being downplayed, only wanting to give his Lord a proper introduction. At Aayla’s warning, the group perked up at noticing the sudden change in the air. Their initial entrance had their minds occupied, not sensing the magical disturbance being broadcasted by the forest ahead of them. Leo’s eyes went into slits, sensing the disturbance in every fiber of his being, “Aye, with mana in this area, it’s almost lucky that Rowan Town hasn’t been overwhelmed with Beasts.” His usual soft mew was gone, replaced by a knowledge of Magic and its capabilities. Caesar’s eyes went full red before seceding into the veins around them, his nose wasn’t on par with Aayla’s, but he could smell something violent. Even Black corrected his posture, able to detect such encroachment of mana within his surroundings. Leo stepped forward, blinking his eyes into a gleaming flare of blue. Mana Sight, an advanced spell that usually only Mages of Platinum rank would be capable of mastering. The spell enhances ones eyes and enables them to see another beings Mana source. Leo felt the hairs on his neck stand up, witnessing the sight of the forest, burning with an intense Magic aura. “Hey Triton, you see it too?” He asked without looking away. Caesar and Black raised eyebrows in response, Caesar could guess at what the little Cat meant, feeling annoyed that he hadn’t even bothered to learn Mana Sight since Vampires could detect Life Source.

Triton’s shining icy blue eyes didn’t change. The Blight house had created their own version of mana sight. One that was permanent. Only his house and King Apollo know the spell. It’s why all who have used the spell share the same icy blue eyes. “I see it Leo. The trail will take us to the beast.” He said. Aayla held up a finger to speak. “Beasts, you mean. Plural. The original report has to be false. I’m certain there’s more than one but I don’t know how many.” She said. Aayla had been here a few days already scouting the area. Her beast magic made her best suited for the tracking but this was strange magic. It was unlike any beast she had tracked before.

Leo grinned with a nervous excitement, “Yeah, no way is just one beast making such a disturbance of mana in this forest.” With that, the group followed the dirt road leading into the forest, the stench of angered mana growing stronger with each step. As the group entered the underside of the trees, branches would suddenly lash out without warning, but they were halted immediately a magic shield. At the front of the group, Leo held out his left paw, which cradled a magic circle of pure mana. “It’s a reaction to different mana, the trees themselves have no real control of themselves. This cursed mana that poisons them, it’s actually reacting to any mana not of its own.” He explained as they began to see trees that had been broken by something large. Instantly the entire group was put on high alert, Leo lit up his right paw with an arcane blast at the ready, Caesar swiftly moved his coat out of the way, hand poised to unsheathe his sabre. Black took up position at the rear, facing the way the came in, his body giving of a cold chill of frost. For average humans and lesser trained guards, they wouldn’t have felt the rampant bloodlust, which now had its sights on the group of Mages. One, no, two... three... five... six? Only Leo and Triton could fully sense the Seventh, without a bloodlust, just waiting further into the forest.

A green aura began to surround Aayla as she began to transform. “I’ll show you a predator.” She said with a growl. Her body began to take on more bear like features, growing a few feet in the process. Her upper half almost entirely a brown bear with human like features. She stood in an aggressive stance to the side of the group.

Triton stood calm but the air around him dropped to freezing temperatures as he harnessed some of his magic.

Like a coordinated effort, five elderwood beasts stormed from all angles, setting upon the group with murderous intent. Their forms appearing as elk, bear, wolf, eagle, and boar. Their wooden bodies twisted with a sinister magical glow, corrupted by it. In response, the newly formed group rushed off, each taking on one of the five beasts.

Leo’s dispersal of the barrier around the group caused a pulse to wash over the beasts, buffering them off balance. Approaching the eagle off to the front left, Leo went airborne as magic circles on the bottom of his paws lit up with an arcane flare. Shooting small missiles at the Eagle to get its attention, Leo went above the twisted treetops.

Caesar used his increased vampire speed to close the distance with the back right Elk beast, unsheathing his sabre with a steely hiss. The crimson blade appeared more vibrant as he parried with the Elk’s antlers, seeming surprised that the beast could keep up. Grinning, Caesar pushed off, flickering as projections of himself appeared all around the Elk, each going in for an attack. Instantly the Elk summoned antlers from every inch of its body, blocking the true form of Caesar from above. “Tch, not gonna keel over that easy, huh?”

Black faced the center rear as the Boar charged again after recovering from the initial pulse, frost fell off his arms as he started forwards. Black pushed off and met the Boar with both hands catching a tusk, his entire body covered in a suit of black icy armor, like an icy revenant standing against the force of nature. He stood at ten feet tall, but wore no helmet, “Shall we begin?” He asked, pouring strength into his body, bracing against the endless rage of the Boar beast. The two locked in a battle of attrition.

The world around Triton seemed to slow as he took in the scene before him. A sixth beast in the form of a snake was right on the edge of the tree line sneaking to a flank. Next to him Aayla charged to meet the bear, leaving the wolf as his immediate threat. Seeing his teammates initial strike he could tell a drawn out fight isn’t what they needed here. Especially with the seventh mana signature still out there. That was the beast Triton really wanted. “They’re feeding on your mana, end them quickly.” Triton said quickly as the wolf lunged for this throat fangs open. Triton’s eyes began to shine even brighter as his hand came to meet the beast unleashing a powerful spell. The wolf seized mid air as the ice took hold quickly coating its entire body. The frozen beast shattered to pieces as it hit the ground.

Triton turned to face the snake sensing it’s attack. The snake beast lunged at Aayla’s back. As she was still dealing with the bear wearing it down she was oblivious to the danger behind her. A metallic thud sounded behind her as Tritons blade pinned the snake to a thick oak tree nearby. The snaked writhed in pain but was only stuck.

Black, at the sound of his Lord’s command, took a deep breath. With a mighty heave, he tossed the wooden Boar into the air, summoning a massive lance of black colored ice to skewer the magical incarnation. It remained still before crumbling into icy chunks, Black walked away from it as his own icy armor dissolved away.

Nearby, Caesar sheathed his sabre, his eyes flashed a bright red at the Stag beast. Instantly, the wooden elk began writhing and twisting, tearing itself apart with it’s own antlers. Finally, it pierced the core of itself, falling still in place. “May have only been magic, but it would’ve gone quicker if it just let me cut it.” He sighed without remorse.

From above, the eagle beast fell through the treetop’s, landing with a deep thud. Riddle with arcane spear’s, Leo soon hopped down on-top of it, “Well, they sure did echo a chaotic presence. Magic is quite unique, nature magic, but twisted.” He deduced quizzically as he stepped onto Black’s backpack when he passed by. Black grumbled with annoyance, but kept his mouth shut, not wanting embarrass his Lord Triton.

Aayla’s bestial form roared as she picked up the bear beast, digging her claws through the center. With a green flash, avatar hands tore through the beast. Aayla began shifting back to her common appearance as two thuds sounded behind her, the remains of the beast.

Triton approached the pinned snake beast. With a flick of the elf’s wrist, his blade wrenched free of the tree and back to his hand. A simple retrieval spell. The snake landed and immediately faced west. Only no movement followed, the beast remained still as if listening to something. Harnessing his mana, Triton followed the beasts view with his eyes. Sure enough the darker concentration of mana from before was focused in that direction but much more potent.

Wounded but with a steady speed the beast took off towards the trees. “Curious.” Triton stated plainly before he began walking in pursuit. There was no need to rush. Their target wasn’t truly trying to escape.

Caesar sped in a blur with vampiric speed, catching up to Triton, Black walked on the opposite side from him, while Aayla brought up the rear. Their slow pursuit of the Snake beast led them through a darkened area, tree’s devoid of their magic, wilted and hollow. Leo made note of the magical leylines flowing around on the ground, all leading to the source on the very heart. The same direction they now walked.

Stepping from the treeline, the forest opened to a wide field, with a single broken and withered tree trunk at the center. At the base, there was a strange humanoid figure of wood, the Snake beast lay weak at its feet, it’s magic force being drained. The wooden figure began to glow with energy, a twisted dark purple and green.

Leo hopped down and came next to Triton, “The seventh source… it dwarfs the other’s. We should approach cautiously, judging from the way it’s condensing all that magic, a single hit could be fatal.” He warned anxiously. Caesar raised eyebrow, seeing as Leo and Triton seemed to have known there was another. However, Caesar didn’t need a strong magic sense to tell what this wooden construct was giving off, He was all too familiar with the Intent to Kill.
