The year is 2087. We cured cancer in 2027, the global warming issue has been remedied thanks to a global collaboration of technological innovations in 2032, and there has been little to no war or strife between countries or nations for decades. But unfortunately, peace never lasts. It was in 2079 when the first 'gifted', or so they were called then, emerged. Individuals with extraordinary and devastating powers, augmentations, or abilities. No one knows how long they have existed for, its obvious why they might have sought seclusion, because government agencies would snatch them up as quick as they were appearing. The latest statistics calculate that about 11% of the worlds current population are deemed 'gifted', but no one really knows how many are out there, for all we know, the government might be making these beings now. Needless to say, this peace we have so longed for, has come to an abrupt end. The world is now in an arms race, each nation or ruling body trying to lay claim to these individuals very lives, making them fight for their cause, and the causes vary from world peace, to world domination, even corporations claiming to protect the world from extraterrestrial invasion. There have been rumors of some gifted gathering on their own, and creating underground cults or sects to either protect themselves, or fight back against the government that seeks to control them.
