quinn devereaux.
full name | quinn amelia deveraux
nickname(s) | n/a
age | twenty four
gender | female
pronouns | she/her
sexuality | unknown
appearance | eleanor tomlinson
personality | quinn is often seen as extremely reticent, not often speaking up unless spoken to. a coy woman, withdrawn from the world around her. truthfully she'd reserved as a way to observe the world around her, rather than a truly demure young lady. she'd found its easier to comprehend the world around her by simply allowing it to happen, and taking note of it. many have fallen victim to her humble posture. believing she is one to take it on the chin without protest. but the remarkably seemingly timid woman in the past has had no problem with speaking out against others. her strong sense of justice can over power her desire to observe at times. leading to her interjecting herself into other's conversations and lives. at the end of the day, actions always speak louder than words, especially in quinn's eyes.
vices | critical, impatient, picky, meticulous to a fault, and determined
virtues | attentive, gentle, loyal, observant, studious, and witty
history |quinn grew up in an average middle class household with her mother, father, and her sister. the two daughters of the deveraux family were born only fourteen months apart. being close in age, the girls were also close emotionally. throughout their lives the girls shared everything, from friends to clothes. the two remained close until the horrific years that are highschool. quinn chose to focus on studies and friends, where as her sister, emelia, chose social events and romance. they were polar opposites, and yet still deeply bonded. quinn found herself covering for her sister as they grew older. even after emelia had graduated, quinn still lied for her. while her sister was meant to be at college, emelia had taken a year gap to travel with her then boyfriend. by the time quinn graduated herself, she rarely heard from emelia. but when she did, their connection was still their. eventually they both settled into their lives. quinn got a simple office job, and emelia was off in some city, bartending, dancing, or whatever job she'd decided to take up that week. quinn envied her sister's life style in a way. her carelessness was beautiful to her. her envy diminished the day her mother called to tell her emelia had died. rather, been killed. supposedly by a a 'wild animal' in a vicious attack. it never sat right with quinn. she was left with a hole in her heart indescribable to those who cared for her. she didn't know what to do. when her mother asked her to go to her sister's apartment to collect her things, she intended to be in and out. but once she was inside, all she could see around her was the sister she missed dearly. emelia had already paid months in advance on rent. and quinn didn't want to get rid of any of her things. some may think it is silly, or crazy. but quinn moved in. whether to feel closer to her sister or save on rent. either way, quinn moved in. she stopped going into work. she fell into a concerning depression in that apartment. eventually, rent would be due, though. a friend of both quinn and her sister told quinn of an opening at the company she worked for. quinn promised to interview, though unsure she would be able to get the job.

Full name: Emilia Bellthorpe

Nicknames: Milia to friends -- not that she has many of those. To most, she's ma'am, or just that woman.

Age: Looks around 30, give or take, but she's been around for... a while. She 'died' in 1665, so you can do the math.

Sexuality: Useless lesbian

Appearance: A walking stereotype, at least as far as vampires are concerned. She is, indeed, tall, pale and considered beautiful by most, with raven hair, big blue eyes and and stern features. It doesn't help that she also dresses like the average female symphonic metal singer, though, to be fair, she does that sort of ironically. Why not lean into the archetype?

Personality: In one word, a bitch. Of course, personalities are more complicated than that and so is Emilia, but that's the impression most people will get from her. And how could they not? She knows both what she wants and how to get it, all the while paying little attention to the consequences for those who aren't her. Too bad; so sad. She also doesn't fuck around, and the finding out part that is associated with that is not usually pleasant for the people involved. The emotional walls she's built up? At this point, they're probably higher than the Mount Everest. Still, if you do manage to get to know her, you'll find out she can be surprisingly generous and funny in her own way, as well as a rather intellectual discussion sparring partner.

Vices: Stubborn and proud. Unable to communicate to save her fucking life, too. A little too fond of gambling.

Virtues: Steadfast and loyal, once you do win that loyalty. Hardworking. Secretly has a soft spot for various charities, and does donate a lot.

Backstory: A proper English rose... not. Emilia was born to a minor noble house which, to be honest, wasn't very important at all. They did have money, though -- and, more importantly, her father doted on her. In practice, that meant she was allowed to do whatever she wanted. Emilia ended up picking hobbies that were, according to some, not at all appropriate. Her interest in various sciences was definitely one of them. It had been her dream to become a doctor, and she'd read enough that, perhaps, it even could have happened in some alternate reality.

Alas, it was what ended up killing her. Or, well, one of the last oubreaks of the bubonic plague did, but she did sort of ask for it via not being able to stay away.

Not that she died for real. A family friend who turned out to be not quite human saved her life in the only way he knew how -- sharing his immortality. Of course, continuing to live her old life wasn't possible, and so Emilia joined a new family, full of new faces. She didn't exactly like it, but she also didn't have a choice.

That lack of choice was something she had never quite forgiven her sire, and the relationship between them was famously strained until she murdered him about a hundred years later. The official version is that he got mad and had to be put down, though only Emilia knows the full story.

Currently, Emilia is the head of her own clan, and watches over the peace of a few cities.
