A Gap in Time

NessieAlways

da bomb diggity
It seems like only yesterday that Character 1 fell for Character 2, but it was about 6-7 years ago. Character 1 and Character 2 were best friends in middle school. They would do everything together and became so comfortable with each other that they began to fall in love. However great this might have been, due to some unfortunate events Character 2 had to move towns and lost contact with Character 1. Seven years passed and, while at a large music festival, Character 1 bumps into Character 2. Will Character 2 remember Character 1? Will they be able to catch up on the lost time? But most importantly, will the spark that was once in the two spark up again?

Bio:

Georgina lives in a family of 3 her, her father and her little sister, Isabel. They mother left them months after Isabel was born claiming that she was not ready to settle in yet. Therefore, Georgina grew up at a very young age acting as the anchor and guidance for her sister. Their father wasn't much help, always working to bring food to the table made him only a fair memory in Gina's mind. She always felt like she had to put a strong face on, until she was in middle school and she met a person that changed her life. Fletcher. Fletcher became Georgina's best friend and companion. They became one. Gina and Fletcher were inseparable and their friendship grew past that. Gina began to have inexplicable feelings for Fletcher. Butterflies you form in the pit of her stomach and sparks would light up under her skin at the mere sight of him. When Gina planned on making her move, her father announced that he had gotten a promotion and they had to move towns. Without getting to say goodbye, Gina and her family left and she never heard of Fletcher again.

Time passed and the Memory of Fletcher faded from her head. Gina became an independent girl at 16 and moved away with her sister who was 13 at the time. Gina got a job at the local burger shack and within two years she went from flipping patties to manager. One day a group of her friends from school invited Gina to a music festival in a town a few hours away. Without thinking twice Gina left Isabel with their aunt and hopped in a car heading to the small town she once lived in. Gina had no idea of what she had in store.

"You're going to stay with Aunt Paula okay Iz?"

Two girls were standing outside an old style looking cottage with a rocking chair in the porch and a small garden filled with various colored plants. It looked like something taken out of a 1940's home improvement magazine. Gina planted a kiss on the small girl's forehead which the girl responded to by wiping her forehead with a grossed out expression. "Eew. I'm 13 already I don't need a baby sitter. I can take care of myself." Gina laughed at her sister's comment, "Of course you don't kiddo, but Aunt Paula does."

The old 67 year old woman who was sitting on the rocking chair too busy reading the last issue of playboy craned her neck away from the adult magazine, "I need no taking care of from nobody." Gina gave Isabel and 'I told you so' look and Isabel replied with a roll of her eyes and disappearing inside the old bats cottage. Gina sighed, "I'll be back tomorrow Aunt Paula take care of Isabel for me okay?"

The old woman stood up from her rocking chair and wobbled over to Gina. The woman was BIG and that was just an understatement. She had muffin tops on her muffin tops and a triple chin. But the old woman was as loving and caring as ever, "Oh my big bubu! Yeh care care of yeh' self got it. No boys getting into yeh panties this night okay hun." Gina blushed red before giving her aunt a hug and kiss on the cheek. "Yeah of course not Aunt Paula."

Gina step out of the porch of her Aunt's house and got into her car. "Left the little. See ya'll in 30," She texted her group of friends before turning up the music and heading home to get ready for the music festival. She was so looking forward into seeing all of the bands and finally being confident enough to crowd surf. It would be amazing.

The sun glinted off the dark tinted windows of Fletcher's black 1969 Chevy Camaro as he sped down the deserted road. He hadn't been back home since he left, but now the music festival had reached his home town.

This'll be good for me. I can catch up with the people I've missed. I know mom and dad will be happy to see me after 10 years.

He let a couple of campers pass and honked a greeting. He saw by the half naked girls hanging out the windows with posters placed strategically over their body parts that they were going to the festival too.

Another half hour of driving and he reached the small house that he had grown up in with four older sisters. His mother squealed when she opened the door and found him on the porch and wrapped him in a warm motherly hug.

"Fletcher! Oh! It's so good to see you! Are you here for the festival?"

Fletch smiled warmly at his mother, "Yeah, mum. It's good to see you."

A red SUV sped through the highway as 4 girls and a gay guy tossed around inside. Hannah, the driver, was cursing at every car that was going the speed limit and got in her way, "Move out of the f*ckin' way grandma!" Penny, passenger seat, had her pale white feet up on the dashboard and was hunched over painting her toenails black, "Honestly I don't know why we even bother anymore. We're already late." Lola, seat behind Hannah, was biting her fingernails, "It's all Oliver's fault. If he hadn't taken all that time with his facial mask we would have been there ages ago. Oliver, right of Lola, was leaning forward with his elbows propped up on the arm rests of the front seats, "I'm sorry but perfection takes time. What if I find my Romeo pelvic thrusting behind me. I must look impeccable." Gina, seat behind Penny, was staring out the window contemplating life when Oliver's comment made her snap back into reality, "Oh yeah and he'll bow down with a ring on his hand and say 'Oh Oliver where for art thou Oliver." The whole van cracked up into laughter causing Hannah to lose sight of the road making a car behind them honk angrily. Hannah straighten up the car and flicked off the family in the car behind them. Offended,Oliver turned to Gina, "That was Juliet's line for your information."

The van continued in conversation and laughter until they arrived at the festival grounds. The friends paraded out of the car and began to apply sunblock; it would be a very hot day. Once they were all ready to go, Hannah, Penny and Gina made their way to the center stage while Lola and Oliver disappeared to watch a different band on a separate stage. Hannah grabbed Penny around the waist making Gina feel like a third wheel, but the attractive guy(NPC) wearing a striped muscle shirt and acid-washed jeans winking her way quickly made Gina forget all about the two girls. The guy slithered her way across the crowd until he was in front of Gina, "I know you saw me staring. The question is, were you staring back." He had a seductive Russian accent. There was a devious smile in the guy's face which made Gina excited. This would be an interesting day.
