So I've wanted to join a GoT RP but have noticed that there are actually none happening right now.

In fact, there have only been a few GoT's RP on RPNation but they seem to have either run out of puff or not gone well.

I tried my hand earlier at starting an RP but found that:

1) Any idea I came up with would require over 20 people and multiple interlocking forums to function, but it could be great.

2) Just too hard to create as, whilst it wouldn't have to follow the source material, most people would want to do something similar to the show (myself included) but that would lead to groups of players scattered around the world effectively just doing what they like.

So, does anyone have any ideas as to a solution to this problem or is a Game of Thrones RP best left to the imagination?

Necessary: A GM-led RP.

Options: AU GoT RP, spin-off story GoT RP (a la Telltale's new game), or GoT-inspired original setting RP.

I'd agree with Grey here. It almost HAS to be GM-led. That's just how the setting works. There's so much going on behind the scenes that the players honestly shouldn't know about. On that vein, you have the players playing a single house, or a single general group, and let the GM determine what's going on with everyone else in the background.
