  As a "Type A" man, Yejun has been known throughout his whole life as the guy who paves his own way. Charismatic and persuasive, he's never had to beg for anything he really wanted if he put his mind to it. Despite this fact, the man wasn't spoiled in the slightest, seeing as he was strong-willed, independent, and worked hard to achieve everything that he had by the ripe age of 26. Yejun grew up without the emotional support of a loving parent, resulting in him understanding from early on in his childhood that success in life would require strength, endurance, and persistence—a few of the several qualities that he seeks in his colleagues as well. At the same time, witnessing his father's attitude towards his only son instilled a deep fear of becoming such a shell of a human himself, and Yejun tries his best to be empathetic and fair in situations the old man wouldn't have shown mercy in at all.
  
  However, Yejun is an arrogant man, and he despises allowing others to have power over him in any aspect of his life. If the other party hasn't earned his respect, his competitive side will turn the authority placed over him into a challenge. In his eyes, he stands alone, and no individual can trick him into being indebted to them through their shallow brown-nosing. On this note, Yejun is very aware of how others perceive him, and he doesn't actively enjoy making enemies; he does, however, tear down anything in the path of his goals with a chilling determination that strikes many as intimidating. If anyone rubs him the wrong way, Yejun can be extraordinarily cold and unflinching in the face of physical harm. In this way, he remains emotionally distant in order to protect the vulnerability deep within that had put up emotional walls simply to survive. However, the business prodigy would never admit this to himself, let alone anyone else, seeing as he fears the humiliation his hurt and rejection could be received with and often becomes melancholic about his mental state.

  the first part of life

  yejun grew up in samcheok surrounded by wealth and status, attending various formal events with his parents and getting exposed to all the worst sides of diplomacy from an extremely young age. though his parents were never particularly cruel to him, they always enforced a rigorous standard for their son that he constantly struggled to reach. when he was 8, his father's affair became exposed and they filed for divorce, leaving him and yejun to move to seoul while his mother found employment in france.

  halfway through it all

  for several years during his adolescence after he moved, yejun detested his life and began working his way towards independence from the dominating control of his father. he graduated as valedictorian of the prestigious private school he had been attending, after which he moved onto university and found himself experiencing a new side of his youth that he had never been exposed to. all the resentment he felt towards his father manifested in the shape of an unshakable drive to prove himself worthy of his status as an elite.

  what happens next?

  yejun was able to fully showcase his capabilities once his father moved to the states and he began working for the tech guru's company, impressing his superiors left and right and snagging every promotion to build a remarkable presence. despite the hollowness of the relationships he made in the workplace, yejun desperately clung to them, terrified of the possibility of being thrust back into that isolation he had grown up in. now, as the director of partnerships of the prestigious tech company, the businessman lets his social circle praise him as much as they please while he spends his downtime unwinding at shangri-la, mourning the loss of his youth and wondering what this is all for.

  she's also never been the most patient person in the world and when it takes a while for something to be said or done, she gets mad. having been around too many people that take a while to do things, juno has developed a habit of taking it upon herself to do it. therefore, her impulse control has become next to none. if she wants, she does/says/gets. if she doesn't want, she won't do/say/get.

    juneau kang was born on october 3rd in toronto to steven and jade kang. having already been through this process nearly three years ago with charlotte, they were in and out of the hospital in record time and were soon headed home to the suburbs of toronto.
    
    there was nothing extraordinary about the early years of juneau's childhood. she spent most of it playing with her sister, “babysitting” denver, going to school, participating in all of the recreational sports her parents signed her up for, playing with her friends—you know, all the normal childhood things.
    
    she got her first taste of the entertainment/performing world when she and olivia were both signed up for a children’s play that their local community center was putting on. charlotte naturally got the lead role but juneau got a supporting role with a decent amount of lines. what was interesting was that that role had a singing part and it was there during rehearsals that she and everyone else discovered that wow, she could actually sing.

    when she was fourteen, the company steven worked at opened a branch in seoul and asked him to oversee it. not wanting to miss out on such an opportunity, he accepted and the entire family packed up and left toronto for seoul.
    
    though they weren’t fluent, charlotte and juneau had a basic foundation of korean and had no trouble picking up the language. denver, however, didn’t have the foundation and was struggling with learning it. it didn’t help that both older sisters were in an arts school and he was enrolled in their local school. multiple times when they went to pick him up after school, they found him sitting alone at a table. through interrogation, they found out that he had no friends and was often made fun of by classmates for not speaking korean.
    
    through solo after-school explorations, it was denver who first discovered shangri-la. a few years after moving to korea, he had been sitting on a bench outside the bar by himself when the owner came out and invited him inside. despite enjoying himself, he knew it wasn’t quite his scene since all of the kids were a few years older than he. but he knew it would be juneau's scene. the very next day denver dragged juneau, who had followed in charlotte’s footsteps and just started school at hanlim multi arts high school, to the bar. and right then and there, she knew she had found her home away from home.

    a few months after she started at hanlim, she was scouted by various entertainment companies, all coming up to her at school, at the mall, etc. thinking it was all a scam, juneau ignored them. but then a representative of AVA entertainment, one of the big ones, waited outside of hanlim all day for her and when she finally emerged, handed her a card with audition information. this time, she knew it wasn’t a scam.
    
    it took some convincing but eventually her parents caved and allowed her to audition, an audition she easily passed and soon became a promising young trainee at AVA. though it was hard due to her demanding new schedule, juneau still found time to go to shangri-la a few days a week. sadly, by the time she was in her final year at hanlim, those days became less and less until she hadn’t been to the bar in months. MYST.eria was set to debut in the middle of the year and there was just way too much to do.
    
    well, the debut was a success and the group soon skyrocketed to the top of the charts with their debut single “blacklight” off of the first mini album, clue. a year after that, they went on their first mini headlining tour, hitting only a few countries but still selling out every show.
