Help A few questions...

Hi! Newbie here and as the title suggests, I'm after a few answers to some questions I have.

First off! How does group RP normally take place, are there set rules that are generally accepted but so common they aren't really mentioned? Things like; RP is done in sessions, or that they must respect a posting order ect? These topics don't seem to be addressed in the group threads I've looked at so far.

I have a few ideas in mind for some stories I'd like to set the story in and they are not romance plots. The 1x1 forums seem to have romance as a very heavy theme. Am I better off looking in the 'Looking for Group' sub-forum or is there still plenty of folks interested in other themes in 'Looking for Partners' section? I'm used to doing 1x1 RP so far so that is why I'm wanting to post 1x1 to start with.

Now final question; (it's even more vague than my last question) I've seen a couple of posts that are looking for 'long term RP', but they're far from the norm, most do not look for this. Is there a slant towards more casual or short lived RP here? Personally I'm looking for some long term RP and find 1-2 people I can write some stories with long term so I'm wondering if there is an expectation that people will have when I'm writing a new thread. I'm from a MMORPG background (along with some tabletop) and in those games people dropping out is a regular occurrence and it's hard to find players that stick around.

First off, we have an FAQ!!! Here it is: RpN FAQ This should cover a fair bit of info for any other questions you have.

Let's see... I was certain that we had a compiled list of etiquette somewhere, oh well.

Group RPs for the most part are done with respect to posting order. It isn't very strict, but it allows everyone to get a turn in. Since this is a forum, and we have international members, it is unreasonable for everyone to be online at the same time, so we usually take turns.

1x1 forum is perfectly fine. It just so happens that the nature of 1x1 and romance RPs are perfect for each other. You can let people know what kind of RP it is in your title or using the tags.

It isn't so much as "long term RP" and "short term RP" searches as it is a "I'm only taking you in if you are prepared to RP for a long time and not drop it." Everyone doesn't like it when people drop out, and most people find it a waste of their time if someone drops out on them, especially on a 1x1. "Long Term RP" tags are really so that people who join know that they are expected to stay for a long time.
