Multiple Settings A Dark Forest

StoneWolf18

Within the Depths of a Dream

Awake, head throbbing, vision blurry...

The room is cold..

The fire is dead...

Light Fire?

[A] Yes.

[b.] No.

You struggle but somehow manage to coax a small spark out of the bone-dry sticks and foliage. The fire won't last long, but you are also curious to see if you can remember anything about yourself.

Gather kindling or examine self?

[A] Gather

[b.] Examine.

Knowing that everything else can wait, you begin to blindly search around the small areas lit by the spark. Finding handfuls of leaves and twigs, you toss them in, the flame devouring then hungrily as it begins to grow. It's only a small fire though, but curiosity itches the far reaches of your mind.

Continue gathering or Examine self?

[A] Gather

[b.] Examine.

Seeing not knowing anything about yourself wouldn't help much, you begin examin your arms, torso, legs, feel the length and texture of your hair and determine that you are...

What gender are you?

[A] Male

[b.] Female.

After figuring out that you are indeed male, you begin to get a bit more specific with your features...

What do you look like?

Write in time! This means that someone chosen by dice will have the opportunity to describe our character if they so choose. They will then have to write a decent description and Pm it to me for it to be confirmed. Once that is done, I'll give them the code template and allow them to post it before we continue. There is a catch though:

You can't describe anything you, yourself, can't see without assistance.

This means eye and hair color, in depth face detail, etc.

May the odds every be in your favor!

In the fire's glow, you take a closer look at yourself. The first noticeable thing is the clothing - a rather simple-looking cowl that covers the whole body down to the ankles. It certainly has seen better times at some point. If it ever had a color other than grey, it's not noticeable anymore, and it covers the body rather loosely, being much too capacious for the lean body. Your legs are rather muscly, quite in contrast to the thins arms that hide in the wide sleeves of the cowl.

When you examine the bare feet, they are covered by thick layers of scarf-skin, as if you are used to walk long distances on them without any kind of footwear. It feels coarse under your fingers, especially in comparison to the mostly smooth skin of your legs and arms.

The second noticeable thing are the all-present inks: Just like the hands, your legs are also covered by dark tattoos that form symbols whose meanings you don't quite remember right now. Some seem to depict animals you don't recognize, others form weird runes or words you can't make out in the fire's glow. When you lift your hands in front of your eyes, they appear rather slender, as if they didn't do all that much handwork. Dark discolorations indicate some kind of contact with stains, though.

Touching your own face, you can feel the hair stubbles of a growing beard, as well as your nose that seems to have been broken without healing properly - you can feel it's crooked somewhere in the middle. With your hands wandering up to your forehead, and further up, you can feel the same short stubbles as in your face, surrounding a shorn ring on your head.

Somewhat satisfied for now, you move to go collect more kilning ...but you pause. Maybe after figuring out your appearance to such an extent, you might be able to figure out your name. The fire though seems to be suffering.

Help the fire or figure out your name?

[A] Name

[b.] Fire

Known that your name wouldn't matter if death occurred, you decide to gather more fuel for the fire. Yet seeing as the forest floor around your limited light source was getting quite bare, it was decided that you would venture out only a tad further, not knowing what awaited you in the darkness. Slowly stepping towards the edge of the illuminated area, you crouch down and try to peer into the darkness of the forest beyond. After looking for some time and seeing nothing, a glint of something buried in the leaves and bits of dirt within arms reach.

Do you reach out and grab it item or gather fuel for the fire?

[A] Fuel

[b.] Grab

Looking around a bit, you manage to find a stick with a decent length and gently uncover the half buried object to see that it is a...

Yes, it is time for yet another write in! The person chosen by the same means as last time will be able to describe the item and any effects if they are immediate though they can bee discovered later if wished. Not all things have to be a major role in the plot and something as simple as a rusted hunting knife is the difference between life and death! But I must ask that it has to be
reasonable at this point in the story. We barely know who, where, and when we are so I'm not sure opening Pandora's box is a good idea at the moment.

The glint on the ground intrigued you and you decided to dust off some of the leaves. As you were removing the rubble on top, the object took the form of what appeared to be a door knocker. It was shaped like a cat with every etching of fur, beady eyes and a gaping mouth that seemed to hiss at you. It appeared to have been painted black, but the paint had chipped causing the original material to shimmer in the light of the flame leading you to find it.

Slightly confused, you decide to pull up on the knocker expecting it to come off the ground, but instead it seems to be connected to something. Removing more rubble, you take note of a rather cliche wooden cellar door that has a medieval look to it. It is made from a dark, red wood and has iron bordering around it as perhaps a way to keep it from breaking apart. The wood also seems to be preserved as to prevent rotting since it looked as if it had just been placed there. This can't be normal is your only thought, but you are reminded that your whole situation isn't exactly normal.

Questioning your predicament, you weigh your options and decide to just take a peek. Perhaps the cellar door was not actually connected to anything, you think as a way to seek normality in your current standings. As you grasp the ring hanging from the black cat's mouth, you can swear it is mocking you with it's beady eyes. The door opens upward, but you only open it about 12 inches as to get a decent peak. Sadly, the room is dark and you wonder if it is worth the risk to see what is in there.

You were curious, though was it smart to get yourself into something when you didn't even know your own name? Along with that, the fire spluttered, coughed, and wheezed clearly on its last breath.

What do you do?

[A] Save the fire

[b.] Enter the enclosure

[C] Figure out your name

This fire was finally getting on your nerves as you gathered a nice are full of sturdy branches and threw them in. Moments later the fire roared to life, tearing at the dry timber. With more than enough light to get a clear picture of the place as well as warmth to chase away the chill, you are in a clearly surrounded by a dense forest. Errie shadows casted on the thick wall of trees not comforting in the slightest.

What do you do?

[A] Gather Wood

[b.] Enter the enclosure

[C] Figure out your name

[D] Stare into flames

Here we are, now into the meat and potatoes of the game! It works similar to the app, meaning that "Gathering Wood" will advance the story. If you have any question please ask in the OOC!
