Yeah
"you know that pose you see every so often on the covers of old books? the hero standing alone and proud, one foot propped up on a treasure chest or something, hand shadowing their brow as they gaze out at the horizon, hunting for their next adventure? there's a certain spirit to that pose- one of determination, enthusiasm, and wonder at all that the world could offer. the people have moved on from that spirit. but i want to bring it back to them."

hi, friends. my name is Lan, but feel free to call me cap, marv, dumbass, or whatever you like. one of my new years' resolutions is to quit sitting around and doing nothing with all the spare time i have, so in the interest of filling up my otherwise likely-to-be-wasted quarantine hours with content that i'll actually enjoy, i've decided to open up another partner hunt. it's been a hot minute since my last attempt at one of these, but i can't get better without practicing. so won't you help me practice?
please read all the content in these tabs before contacting me. i am only accepting pm's right now.
here are some things you should know about my personal roleplay mechanics.
*i have been an active roleplayer for six years- two offsite, four here.
*in roleplays, i write using proper capitalization [so please don't be off-put by my lack of it here] and mostly in third-person past tense, sometimes in third-person present tense.
*i tend to favor writing many paragraphs in the first few posts in order to establish essential detail right off the bat, after which my average post length varies depending on the needs of the scene, though i will strive to match my partner's own post length.
*i am kept very busy due to my job. i will try to post once a day in the evenings, but my most active days are likely to be saturday and sunday.
*i have no content triggers and am comfortable roleplaying as M or F.
*i am comfortable roleplaying in pm's, threads, or on discord [please pm me for my discord id].
and here is what i am looking for in a partner.
*please be at least 17. i am not comfortable roleplaying with anyone younger than that.
*please be able to use good grammar and write at least one paragraph per post.
*please be willing to collaborate in any plotting, worldbuilding, etc, that the roleplay may entail. as much as i love doing it, sometimes i can't do it all by myself.
*please be able to post at least once every two days. if you need time to take care of real-world things, i'll understand, but please be up front if you're going to be off for more than a week.
*if you're comfortable with it, please be willing to talk ooc. i enjoy getting to know my partners, geeking out about our characters, or just sending stupid memes.
*when contacting me, please tell me some specifics- your qualifications, what you might want to roleplay, any ideas you may already have, etc. please do not send me a pm just asking "hi, do you want to roleplay [x content]? uwu" if it's in one of the content tabs, then i'm willing to roleplay it. a pm like that will result in me ignoring you. i'm sorry if that's harsh, but i value a good first impression.
as the title of this thread suggests, i'm currently interested in adventure-type roleplays. i want to send characters questing across fantastic lands, seeing sights that only exist in imagination, and discovering things that will fill them with wonder. i want an excuse to worldbuild, drip-feed small details, and come up with lore that may not even be relevant. if any of that sounds like it's something you want to do, then please read on.
i'd prefer to avoid an entirely real-world or modern setting.
*touring the galaxy/space opera
*cyberpunk?
*urban fantasy
*very very old historical fantasy (nothing beyond 1700AD)
*mythology
*gritty/non gritty fantasy world
*afterlife (heaven/purgatory/hell) but it's run like a corporation
romance between characters can be a minor element we can add, but i'd prefer the roleplay's focus to be on adventure and character dynamics.
*smol / tol
*all nonsense / no nonsense
*hothead / impulse control
*hothead / fellow hothead who only enables them
*cheerful cinnamon roll / grumpy fucker
*smug attention hog / oh my god we're in public can you please chill out for five fucking minutes
*dumbass trying their best / fellow dumbass trying their best
*novice / expert
*novice / fellow novice pretending to be the expert
*on a journey up into the mountains, our heroes meet in a lonely inn to weather out a blizzard, but not everything there is as it seems.
*a journey goes terribly wrong, and our heroes have to set things right.
*our heroes need to make a very important delivery; the fate of the world depends on it!
*our heroes are supposed to be on a journey of great importance; the only problem is, they've quite forgotten what they're journeying for.
*our heroes are paranormal investigators tasked with helping the residents of a hotel for departed souls move on to the afterlife.
*the world has so many sights to see, and our heroes want to see as many as they can.
*our heroes have to brave the greatest torment hell has to offer: middle management.
*our heroes are part of a galactic squadron dedicated to preserving justice across the multiverse. a rogue group of aliens attack their homeworld, calling them to action!
in fandom settings, i prefer to play an original character against an original character. listed with each fandom are some canon characters i can play well. i'd prefer to play canon characters against canon characters; i'm not used to playing canon characters against original characters, but i can try.
*journey to the west [tang; monkey king; pigsy; sandy]
*star wars [boba fett]
*halo [master chief; noble six; edward buck]
*destiny [cayde-6]
*transformers [cyclonus; getaway; chromia; bluestreak; hoist]
*red vs blue [tucker; donut; grif; washington]
*tolkien [aragorn; gandalf; bilbo; thorin/any of the company really]
*my hero academia [sero; denki; mina]
*helltaker [taker; zdrada; justice; beelzebub]
*super sentai/power rangers [let's make our own sentai from scratch]
*marvel is the only fandom where i will only play canon characters against canon characters. [daredevil; spider-man; iron man; falcon; loki]
thanks for stopping by. if you see something you like, or want to suggest stuff to me, then please shoot me a pm. but if nothing you see here captures your fancy, then thanks for reading anyway. hope to hear from you soon.
love, --Lan
