Vaughn had just moved into his new apartment. It was his first time ever living away from home and he was scared shitless but also kind of excited for it. He'd spent his first night on his own and he'd hardly gotten any sleep. It was different from his parents house, all the noises and even the smell of it. It made it difficult to sleep because of that but he didn't regret moving. He was old enough now to live on his own and it looked better to other guys if he was on his own. Plus, they wouldn't have to sneak around or be quiet that way.
More than anything, though, Vaughn could see the lights of the city. He was into photography at the moment and this new enviroment and the pretty skyline gave him a lot to photograph. In order to do that, he needed a camera. Most of his stuff was still packed away so he'd have to go through the boxes and find it. Unfortunately, he hadn't organsied them or labeled any of the boxes. He sat down in his empty living room and got started on searching for his camera. Instead, he found an old book from when he was a kid. He opened it up and looked through the worn pages. It was something about a blue and white monster who would eat kids who stayed out too late. Vaughn wasn't really interested in that right now so he threw it aside, the book still laying open to a page of the monster sleeping.
Vaughn continued his search for his camera, eager to get a good shot of the sunrise. Seeing as he couldn't sleep, he wanted to make the most of his time awake. Little did he know what he'd just set in motion.
