A Bad Boy's Weakness

s i m p l e

P L O T

There's a senior in school who's untouchable. A true troublemaker at heart, but nobody dares to get in his way or try to push him around. He's a hard-headed, intimidating kid with daunting physical traits and a nearly unstoppable, toughened-up spirit to back it all up. He brings the trouble and nobody opposes him. Despite the scary first impression, he has a friendly side to him that is kept locked away most of the time, to keep the reputation of the school badass on his side.

But there's another person that this boy began to take a unique interest in. She's a bookish, quiet type who seems to stay in line a good amount of the time. Though shy, and seeming to be a bit of a loner, she has something ... endearing about her. As if there's more under the surface that needs to be discovered. Little do the students know that underneath the guise, she's an inspiring, insightful girl, with the potential to be a wonderful friend and a fun person to be around. However, most of the time in school, she seems as quiet as she can be.

And the top dog of the school, the kid who's tough as a bull and is about as frightening as one, has started to notice her. He can't explain his interest in her, nor does he really know how to approach her. He's so ingrained with the more well-known social groups of the school, and she's so ... in her own space, it'd feel weird to try to talk to her.

The two have a few of the same classes together, to make matters more enthralling for him. He starts to feel a strange determination to figure out this girl, find out why he's so enamored with her.

And when the two are paired for an assignment in-class, it would be the experience that'd change everything for the both of them.

The easiest way to start this story would be with the truth. The uncensored truth. Don't worry, it's nothing bad...

On the day of Mori Oshiro's sixteenth birthday, she decided to go to school. For most, that would be a simple truth. Go to school and be with friends, but Mori had missed the past week because of a cold and the only interaction she had with her classmates was when the class representative brought that day's schoolwork to her house. She always felt awkward going back to school after a long absence.

Mori fidgeted with her school bag's strap and forced herself to take another step. She didn't really have any reason to be afraid. She didn't get bullied. She didn't get in trouble. She didn't do anything, actually. She did her schoolwork, stayed just below top of the class and that was it. To the majority of the school, Mori Oshiro was invisible. The only person that ever acknowledged her was the class rep and that was her job. So, why was she so nervous?

With a sigh, Mori forced herself to think of other things. Like work. She had work after school. Then she had chores. And homework. She wondered if her mother would be home when she got home. Probably not. Nana Oshiro had as much on her plate as her daughter did. Once again, Mori forced herself to walk forward. She lowered her eyes, kept her head down.
That would prove to be her first mistake.

Mori slammed into a wall. Only, she knew it wasn't actually a wall. Her eyes widened and she stepped back, daring to look up at the person she had run into. Her heart stopped. Her stomach dropped. She was going to be sick. She was dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. She had the impulse to run away, but her feet were planted firmly on the ground. With her gold eyes, Mori Oshiro stared up at Anto Orah, the most popular boy in school.

Anto Garabet-Orah could barely feel the impact of Mori running into him, his seven foot two, three hundred and thirty pound body far larger than the girl's. However, he did feel a slight bump, unable to see Mori due to her comparatively short stature. Looking down, he stared back into Mori's amber eyes, his own dark brown ones puzzled. As he looked down at the stranger, he felt a strange feeling come over him, sensing something special in the small, awkward girl that he had never spoken to before. However, he quickly came to his senses and turned his soft eyed stare into a glare of indignation. He raised his thumb in an "off" motion and grumbled "Fuck off." to the poor girl, having grown so used to the response.

Stepping to the side and around Mori, Anto scratched at his forearm, having rolled the sleeves of his shirt up to his elbows. The article itself hardly fit him, though it had been tailored to do so only last year. As he walked down the aisle to his first period class, he was joined by Daisuke Thrumi and Isuki Harmo, a pair of large, strong men, teammates on the basketball court and two of Anto's best friends. He stood less than a foot taller than both of them, making it easier for him to converse with the two. "Do you know who the blind girl is?" he asked his companions, as the two had seen the altercation. Both shook their heads, though Isuki, a Junior who was more kind hearted than most of the popular kids spoke up. "I don't know, but you should ask Naoko, she'll know for sure." he suggested, drawing a nod from Anto.

Naoko was the class representative, and knew everyone in the school, more or less. She was bound to know who the bumbling girl was. Deciding to drop by the girl's office after lunch, Anto, Daisuke and Isuki entered their Chemistry class, taking their seats in the back of the room. Anto settled uneasily into his chair, the furniture looking like it was from a dollhouse when his massive self was seated in it. Daisuke and Isuki sat to either side of him, though the area around the giant was soon populated by a rather uniform group of students clad in the finest clothes, and with the trendiest haircuts. Expensive electronics were on display, and the group talked and laughed away, unconcerned with anything else.

As his friends chattered, Anto was unusually silent, his thoughts fixed on the girl he had bumped into earlier. He didn't know what made him think of her. Perhaps it was her dreamy, innocent nature, or her apparent fear of him. Maybe. Or perhaps it was the mystery attached to her. Anto had never seen her before, compelling him to know more. His train of thought was ended by the Chemistry teacher starting attendance, in his low, monotoned voice.

Mori couldn't speak. Her mouth was immensely dry. Oh no, everyone was staring at her. She shifted uncomfortably at the attention. Don't talk to me. Please, don't talk to me. If he talked to her, what was she supposed to do then? "Fuck off." Her stomach flipped as she began to feel light headed. Was she okay? No, she wasn't. She felt like she was going to pass out!

She bit her lip, stepping to the side. She would just walk around him. Walk around him and forget like this ever happened. Right, this never happened. Stay invisible, Mori. Stay invisible and no one will bother you.

Stay invisible. Invisible. Invisible. Invisible. She chanted it like a mantra in her head, but she couldn't move, her body wouldn't let her. She felt lightheaded and dizzy. What if she wasn't entirely healthy yet? Did she still have a cold?

People were still watching her, but the halls spun around Mori and she barely noticed them now. She reached out for the nearest thing. A windowsill. Windowsills were good for balancing. With one hand, she gripped it tightly. The halls still spun around her though.
Please, don't look at me. Don't look at me.

This much attention and stress was not good for her, especially when she was just barely recovering. She couldn't register anything as the world fell away from her. No one stopped to check to see if she was okay. Once the man left, everyone went back to their usual. She was over for. Dead. Who was going to accept her now that the most popular boy rejected her? Mori forced herself to move, thanking the lord the spinning had stopped as she used her small, shaking hands to guide her to the water fountain in which she quenched her thirst from.

Once she finished, the bell ring. The doe eyed girl didn't realize the noise had faded in the background as she was trying to get her thoughts together.
No, no, no, no, no! Mori took off as fast as her little legs could take her. She quickly arrived at class, three minutes late. The pink bobbed girl squeezed her eyes closed as she gripped the handle, slowly turning it and stepping in, opening her eyes to see the rest of her class staring at her, as well as the teacher.

Takanashi Sensei was a woman constructed of hate. She had a scrunched face will small eyes and lips and a large nose that seemed out of proportion to the rest of her face. She wore a pencil skirt and blazer as well as her medium brown hair up in a tight bun that seems like it would rip out anyone else's hair if they tried to copy it. The woman had a very annyoing voice that sounded too naisily for her own good.

"Mrs. Oshiro. You're late." Her small eyes formed slits as she continued speaking, "If it ever happens again, you'll get detention!" Threatened the strict teacher. Mori hesitantly nodded, frightened for her life as she made her way to her seat. Some of her pupils snickered while others just plainly ignored her. A loud smack came form the desk as the teacher slammed a ruler on it. "Pay attention!" Barker the lady.

Mori took her seat, sorting out her stuff quietly as she took deep breathes to calm her. Takanashi Sensei started grumpily calling out attendence as the small girl stuck herself in her favorite book, "Gone". She enjoyed reading quite a lot. It helped her escape into her own little reality where everything that needed to be done, was done by the protagonist. Sometimes, she even likes to image herself as a protagonist in a little book some may call life. Of course, the thought never lasted long. Who would write someone like Mori Oshiro, the nobody, as a protagonist in a story?

"Mrs. Oshiro! Stand right this instant!" The cranky lady yelled. Mori jumped and tucked her book into her desk, quickly standing. "What were you doing just now?" Mori opened her mouth slightly to talk but got interrupted, "You were reading, weren't you?" The girl was about to speak again when the teacher yelled one word that ruined her. "Detention!"

Today is the worst birthday.
