Name of the tribe & people: Suomen

Background to history, culture and looks:

The Suomen are a tribe of people that rely heavily on one animal, an animal praised greatly by them. The Reindeer. The Reindeer act as these men's companions, food, and warmth. Although the tribe is mainly settled-- it's all in fairly small villages in which Reindeer function as livestock. Their clothes, roofs, and all the food they eat comes from them. The Suomen are unaware of how they entered their land-- which they call Suo, after themselves-- though, it's safe to assume they were once nomadic reindeer herders before the tribe settled down.

The Suomen (and Women) are generally short, burly people with a large amount of bodyhair and very light hair (That usually ranges from ginger to blond). Their culture is mainly based on, you guessed it, Reindeer. Reindeer are prized by them, and they put almost no part of it to waste. Their weapons are generally made out of the sharpened bones or antlers of their dead friends, and if all else fails, they wear bones over their furs as a form of extra padding-- and in some cases as armour.

Religion?: [please use simple religions.]

They literally just worship a god called "The Great Reindeer", and believe that the world rests cradled into its great antlers.

Any certain rituals?:

They generally have a death ritual in which one of the dead person's Reindeer is sacrificed so that they have a companion beyond the grave.

Political System: Tribal leader-- Known as the (and to give a rough translation) "Lord of Bones", essentially the Chief wears a crown shaped out of reindeer bone, with antlers attatched to it (Though trimmed down, obviously)

Name of the tribe & people: Wehwuz

Nationality: Sub-Saharan African

Background to history, culture and looks:

Wehwuz were a nomadic tribe moving around Sub-Saharan and later Northern Africa until recently upon their discovery of the Nile river. This source of water and fertile land caused them to settle down bringing their culture and traditions to the land.

While the Wehwuz tribe are a generally peaceful, often doing nothing at all for days on end in relaxation, they can also be incredibly violent towards outsiders. Wehwuz are incredibly xenophobic, largely due to fear of the outside world, this is how their tribe has managed to survive for so long in the harsh African conditions.

Religion?:

A form of Egyptian paganism, with a main diety called 'Oyama'

Any certain rituals?:

While Wehwuz have smaller personal rituals, such as prayer and sacrifice, there are no major holidays or rituals currently practiced.

Name of the tribe & people: Emturian tribe

Background to history, culture and looks: Since the time that humans began to spread across the continent and continued to follow there food sources. The Emturian tribe were once a nomadic tribe that originated from the asian continent. They lived peacefully and prospered from the lands in what would be today known as India, constantly moving close to the rivers and by there fat and delicious edible mammals. But that changed do to several natural disasters and to many tribes that raided and stolen their only sources of food. The Emturian's were forced to make a decision and thus concluded to move to the vast west. However during the first few years traveling they had of coursed stumbled upon the vast desert of the middle east and were lost. The tribe was close to eradication, if it weren't for a helpful and peaceful tribe named the Fainlain tribe. These people were a settled tribe and were happy to help the strangers. The Emturians were thankful and wished to bring along a few of their fellow people. The two tribal leaders discussed and agreed that a few people would help guide them through the vast desert land. Thus by the year 8004 the Emturian tribe finally found themselves past the desert and they were then left to finish their journey on their own. They eventually find another group of tribe, then four, then six different tribes in one region. Most of them were rather hostile and would not allow these strangers to settle in their territory. The tribal leader who had been traveling in the most ridiculous and deadly circumstances had decided that this was going to be the last stop. So the leader of the Emturian tribe demanded to fight all five of the tribal leaders by himself (The sixth didn't mind these strangers settling in) and proclaim himself the leader. The five tribal leaders came and were very confident that they would defeat them. They were caught off by suprise when they found their opponent to be the fittest, toughest, and the most intelligent man within his tribe. He was able to simple read his opponents movements and make a fool of them. The five leaders surrendered, they were then afterwards offered to become a part of his circle (a high social class considered to be advisors). They were confused but reluctantly accepted, which from there the Emturian tribe began to influence their teachings onto others and hoping to unite the other nearby tribes.

Religion?: Funny enough these people do not believe in gods. However they do believe that spirits are real.

Any certain rituals?:

The Becoming of Man: This is ritual is performed every year during the beginning of winter. A certain number of chosen young boys at the age of 6 are sent off to training with a master to hunt, scavenge, and learn other necessities to survive on their own. If they survive to the age of 16, they then return to the main village and a festival is made in honor of those who passed and are then forth proclaimed as warriors. Those who did not make are not shunned but rather mourned, even the ones that came back and somehow failed the trial are not yet removed from the tribe. There is but one more test to see if the person is yet worth something.

The Becoming of light.: Those who have failed to the first ritual are given but one more test. Within the village lies a small group of both old and young men who have shown signs of rather more intelligence and wisdom. The subjects that have failed the first trial are sent to this group and are given a certain task or questions. Once the person answers and the group considers him acceptable, they will then allow him to join and thus observe him. If he accomplishes something that is praised or draws much attention and benefit to the tribe within 10 years, then the person is thus praised as becoming of light and is also known to be a man of wisdom and intelligence. He is considered respected by all and thus has a purpose and worth to the tribe. If he is yet to fail this trial then he is but considered nothing and sent off to do manual labor.

Name of Tribe and People: Nist

History: Years ago, the homeland of the Nist tribe was marked by scattered nomadic tribes moving across the land, fighting minor wars with each other, but not interacting with each other other then that. That was until a single chieftain rose among a small nomadic tribe, believing himself to be the prophet of the faith his tribe believed in, the Dark Gods. Forming his tribe into a warband, he led them in a conquest of the other nomadic tribes around them, slaughtering those who refused to join in worship of the Dark Gods. In the end, the conquest cost the lives of thousands, but from the ashes, a new unified people rose to power. Worshiping the Dark Gods, the Nist people established permanent settlements from which they praised their deities, killing those few who still resisted them in intrinsic rituals. To this day, they still worship the Dark Gods, whose words are spoken through the Archon, leader of the Nist.

Religion: Dark Gods, worship of 5 deities who represent some of the basest of human instincts, their spiritual leader, the Archon, also serves as their tribal leader.

Rituals: The tasks of smiting, crafting, foraging, farming, and any other menial task is left to the women and female children. From birth, all male children are tested by the local shaman, and those who are found weak are cast into a fire, their soul sent to the Dark Gods to seek forgiveness for his weakness. The strong are immediately taken from their mothers the moment they can survive on their own, and raised in the temples to become warriors. Taught from birth to kill all those who do not follow the Dark Gods, when the males mature, they are truly warriors to fear. When they have proven themselves ready for battle, they are branded with a cattle iron, marking them with the symbol of the Nist, a four spears crossing to form an eight pointed star.

View attachment 291771 View attachment 291771 Name of the tribe & people:The Wenja Tribe

Background to history, culture and looks:

warriors_03.png

Agriculture, hunting and fishing provided most of the Wenja diet. Corn, beans, and squash were known as "deohako" or "life supporters." Their importance to the Wenjas was clearly demonstrated by the six annual agricultural festivals held with prayers of gratitude for their harvests. The women owned and tended the fields under the supervision of the clan mother. Men usually left the village in the fall for the annual hunt and returned about midwinter. Spring was fishing season. Other than clearing fields and building villages, the primary occupation of the men was warfare. Warriors wore their hair in a distinctive scalplock although other styles became common later. While the men carefully removed all facial and body hair, women wore theirs long. Tattoos were common for both sexes. Torture and ritual cannibalism were some of the ugly traits of the Wenja, but these were shared with several other tribes east . The False Face society was an Wenja healing group which utilized grotesque wooden masks to frighten the evil spirts believed to cause illness.

Religion?: [please use simple religions.]

The Wenja lived from the fruits of the earth and the Animals, which they followed as these animals moved from summer to winter feeding grounds. They believed that animals, plants and humans all came from one source: Mother Earth. They also believed that although each creature, including humans, had its own spirit, or "wakan," this spirit came from one universal source: the Great Spirit, or Wakan Tanka. Wakan Tanka is manifest in every aspect of the universe. For the Sioux, all is one and there is no separation between the physical and spiritual worlds. Lakota Sioux visionary Black Elk expresses this sense of oneness in his vision of a "mighty flowering tree" growing in the center of a series of hoops. This world tree "shelters all the children of one mother and one father." Black Elk also refers to the Sioux people as "the sacred hoop," which represents the unity of the nation. Circular forms, such as medicine wheels, play an important role in Sioux religious rites, as the circle also symbolizes oneness.

  • Name of the tribe & people: The Aravi Confederation (More of a military Junta really , where the state is controlled by the military yet they still prefer to call themselves a confederation/alliance of tribes , the closest approximation in the real world would probably be the Spartans )

Religion: The Aravi worship various gods in a very diverse faith that is based around their militaristic society with the solider being exalted and revered , stories are told of warriors who win glorious battles against unnerving odds , they tell of the great Endovelicus who by himself went into battle with an army of over 10,000 men and emerged victorious and for this victory the gods decided to grant him immortality as a god himself. Another deity that is much revered by the Aravi is the goddess Ataegina , the goddess of of rebirth (spring), fertility, nature, and cure .

Any certain rituals: When a boy comes of age at 14 he is allowed to bed any slave in his household , often this act is done ceremoniously with priest preceding over the proceedings , the very next day the child is enlisted into the military and sent away from his family to serve in the garrison of another village before going to the front lines , If a child is borne by the slave it is raised by the boys family until he has reached the age of setting up his own household at 18 and procuring a Aravi wife , during this time however he is free to bed other slaves in accordance to his contribution in battle.
