it’s honestly crazy hearing you say that…it’s our first tour so it hasn’t really sunk in yet that it’s happening. but to answer your question: definitely hearing everyone sing along. well, hopefully they’ll be singing. ‘cuz i’ll probably just be ugly crying!

lena is very charismatic and charming; those who don’t like her would say annoyingly so, or even go so far as to say manipulative, but only rarely does lena use her talents in a purposefully negative way- although she does pride herself on her cleverness, often being the one behind the schemes her and her friends get up to.
despite regularly being described with a personality that’s larger than life, lena never leaves anyone behind; everyone’s equal, and everyone’s fair game to get caught up in her crazy. because of this, she often has a hard time realizing the destruction she’s left in her wake until it’s too late- and she’s not above apologizing for it.
when you catch her in her downtime it’s almost shocking to see how quiet she is. she’s typically stubborn and loud, but when she’s alone she’s reflective and likes to enjoy the peace.

born to a single mother in the middle of des moines, iowa as an only child, lena always had to create her own fun. hence the extroverted tendencies and crazy imagination she very quickly developed. even though she grew up close to the poverty line, her mother made sure she never knew it; lena’s happiness was always the priority, which meant constantly hosting friends for sleepovers and picking her up from the multiple afterschool activities she joined just because her friends did (as well as hiding food stamp applications and overdue rent notices).

the nicest thing anyone’s ever said about walker’s intelligence level is that he must’ve been dropped on his head once as a baby, as opposed to having been dropped multiple times. he’s a follower, not a leader, and while it’s mostly because he likes to make friends in the crowd, it’s also because he barely has a self-sufficient bone in his body.
despite having a tendency of coming across as an egocentric maniac, walker’s actually the opposite; he’s very sweet and caring, just not nearly aware enough to see how he comes off to other people.

the story
walker grew up in the suburbs with his mom, dad, younger brother, and dog- noncoincidentally name walker. he had a fairly standard childhood, with his biggest struggle being his learning disabilities. he’s dyslexic, and often needs extra support in school; as a young child he often was bullied for it, or laughed at in class when he couldn’t read aloud as well as the other kids. thankfully, his friends always had his back and weren’t above starting fist fights in the middle of class.

- HISTORY.01.
Celeste Prince was, as her mother puts it, "a welcome accident." Their five older children were all but grown by the time Celeste came to be. Christopher, the oldest, was twenty when Celeste was born, while his siblings Jeremiah, Grayson, Annie, and Elisa were eighteen, sixteen, fourteen, and twelve on the day that Celeste was born. Their parents, Harrison and Jessica, were just as surprised to find out that they would soon be expecting another little one. After all, they were nearing forty, and Jessica had thought she couldn't have any more biological children. But no, that wasn't what was in the cards for the Princes. Nine months later, Celeste Annika Prince made her bright debut into this world, weighing nine pounds, seven ounces.
The Prince children came to admire their new baby sister pretty quickly. They doted upon chubby baby Celeste from the moment she took her first breath. She got the best that a middle class family can only hope to provide for their children very early on. They put her in beauty pageants (though she didn't win first prize in any of them), took her to Disney World every summer, and, most importantly, enrolled her in dance lessons. It was then that Celeste developed a lifelong love for dance, with a strong preference for tap among all of the different genres she had begun to learn. She also took a liking to sports through her older brothers, who encouraged her to play T-ball and biddy basketball as they had done when they were her age.
Celeste grew up with the love and support of her family, even as her siblings began to grow up and move out. Eventually, she was the only Prince child left at home, which was a crushing blow to her. She was essentially an only child now, and she hated every bit of it. Sure, having her parents' undivided attention was a plus, but it appeared to be the only positive thing about her newfound situation. That was, until the formation of the group.

Do you want to join us? Celeste didn't even have to think about it. She said yes, and the rest was history. She didn't really expect it to (somewhat) blow up like it did, but apparently people seem to like the blossoming group. Celeste doesn't really know why, though. Her parents moved her to the Palmwoods shortly after, coming with her for the ride. Christopher bought their old house, now married with two kids of his own, so if this all goes bust, at least Celeste might have a room available for her with her brother and his wife.
Q&A with Celeste.
question 1.What drew you to joining the group? "Well, that's a long story. It all started on the day of my birth. Both of my parents failed to show up. Just kidding. I don't know. My friends were all like, Celly, do you want to join us? And I was like, sure. And now here I am."
question 2.What do you plan on doing if you make it big? "Cry in a Tesla. Next question."
question 3.If you don't make it big, what's your plan then? "WNBA, baby. I'm gonna be the next Candace Parker. This won't be the last you see of me. Or it might, who knows? Either way, I wanna be a star."
- PERSONA.Celeste better get her credit for being a good friend. She wasn't the one who wanted to start this group, but because she loves her friends so much, she decided to go along for the ride. She thinks that she's the best dancer out of the group simply because she's been in lessons ever since she could remember. But she has a caring side - it just doesn't come out very often. Celeste prefers to dance or exercise more than anything else in the world, though she doesn't mind the beginning stages of the fame that the group's starting to receive. Her bubbly personality shines through, even though she simply never shuts up. There's always something Celeste has to say, no matter the situation. She often finds herself in unusual situations, but honestly, she takes it all in stride. She can be a bit of an oddball, but her goofy personality is infectious. - HISTORY.01.
Nolan and Tess Cruz were blissfully in love during their first year of marriage. A baby would complete their family and grow the love that they had for each other. But their bliss would soon end shortly after their son's birth nine months later. Tess would perish in childbirth, leaving Nolan to burden the pain that came with raising their son on his own. How was he going to look his tiny infant son in the eyes that mirrored his now deceased mother's? It would take a huge toll on Nolan, but he wasn't just going to abandon his son, which he named after his grandfather. Francisco Paul Cruz would be the baby's name. Nolan thought it fit his five pound, two ounce baby boy, and he knew that Tess would have loved the name for him too.
The funeral was a grim one. Nolan was lucky that his sister was watching baby Francisco, whose immune system was too weak to attend his mother's funeral. Tess was only twenty-seven when she passed from the rough complications that came with her son's birth. Nolan was a widower at twenty-nine. What would he do now? What could he do now? Nolan spent the first year of Francisco's life grieving Tess's passing - they had been together for four years when she died. It was hard to adjust to life without her. But gradually, over the years, he began to cope with the tragic loss of his wife. From an early age, Nolan had taught his son that his mother was in a better place so that he never had to question why other kids had mothers and he didn't. It saddened Francisco to know that he'd never have the love of his mother, but soon, he'd have the love of a female presence in his life.
Her name was Jacqueline Gould, and Nolan was quite nervous about dating so soon after Tess's death. But a five year old Francisco encouraged his father to date Jacqueline if he really wanted to, after she had been around them long enough. And so he did. They had a whirlwind romance, and within a year, they were married. Francisco served as ring bearer in the ceremony. And surprisingly, there wasn't much of a transition period for the Cruz's. Francisco took to Jacqueline immediately, and they quickly formed a bond.

Francisco was a bright kid, with an intelligence that blossomed from an early age. School was effortless for him - his elementary school principal even encouraged Nolan and Jacqueline to let him skip a grade, but they wanted him to stay with his friends. But the choice was up to Francisco - should he skip a grade and leave his close-knit group of friends? The answer was obvious. Francisco would stay with his friends - he wasn't a traitor, by any means. And besides, he was a small kid - the older kids would just bully him. He wasn't stupid.
Years passed, and Francisco was caught singing in the shower at one of his friends' house. His voice was better than they expected, and, well, let's just say that he was guilt tripped into joining the group.
Q&A with Frankie.
question 1.What drew you to joining the group? "Blackmail. Guilt-tripping. You know, the usual."
question 2.What do you plan on doing if you make it big? "Use that money to buy my dad and stepmom a nice house somewhere and save the rest. Though, it's highly unlikely that we're actually going to make it big."
question 3.If you don't make it big, what's your plan then? "We're probably not going to make it big. Think of all the most famous boy bands throughout history. What do they all have in common? Five members. *NSYNC, the Backstreet Boys, hell, even One Direction all started out with five members. The logistics of a four person boy band working out just doesn't add up in my eyes. I mean sure, 98 Degrees had four members, but, like, can you name a single 98 Degrees song? I'll wait."
- PERSONA.Frankie's a chilled guy, just taking it one day at a time. He's adventurous and ambitious, letting that drive and desire overpower his nerdiness more than anything. He can be quite awkward around girls, particularly those he likes, but perhaps it adds to his charm. Frankie has a tiny amount of confidence within himself, but he doesn't really use it unless he needs it. He's a kind-hearted, sweet individual who cares a lot about his friends and family. Sometimes he decides to play dumb in order to mask his intelligence because it's easier for others to deal with. Frankie doesn't like to do it, but it's just second nature to him at this point. Under the haze of indigo lights and smeared mascara is a red hot flash of stardom shaped into a girl. A passing glance would label Ripley vain, but in an industry that alters lives for better or worse, sometimes looks can get you everywhere. Those who come across Fiona often don't know what to make of her; a performer first, person second. Words drowned in sickly sweet saccharine, the bat of the eyelashes, and suddenly the world is in the palm of your hand. That's not to say Ripley is superficial, but then again, beauty is only skin deep.
There are two sides to Ripley: the one she shows the public, and the one she shows her girls. Child actor turned upcoming stage star, Ripley has kicked and clawed to make a name for herself in the world of showbiz, and with that comes tough skin. On the surface, she's exactly what people say she is. (Fake. Conceited. Too perfect.) A fast talking wild child with the confidence of Rihanna who has one too many exes to come back and haunt her. A real spitfire, never afraid to stick it to the patriarchy and burn it to the ground. A pretty face with an ugly mouth, a true hopeless romantic turned heartbreaker.
That's not to say she doesn't know when to put her money where her mouth is. Self-assured and borderline narcissistic, under layers of makeup and lipgloss is a girl who knows what she wants and knows how to get it. Never a damsel in distress, Fiona is a rock for people when they need it. An eager ear willing to listen, save for the brutal honesty given in return. She's a fervent believer in self love and although vain, isn't afraid to share the spotlight (sometimes).
The closest people to her will always be her group and the guys. Although her relationship with some of the boys is forced smiles and conversations, Ripley stays close with her soul sisters. Through thick and thin and bad hair days, there's a little Ripley who still dreams of being a star, all braces and big grins. She's a lover and a fighter, the same girl who shot milk out of her in nose in sixth grade from laughing too hard. Despite being the same age as most of the other girls, she tries to look out for them when she can, like they're the sisters she's never had. Still a little awkward and maybe just a smidge insecure, Ripley can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Just know she'll look good as hell doing it.

Fiona Beth Ripley came into the world the same way she'll go out: kicking and screaming. She sometimes wonders if her parents had wished she were a boy, as if that would have changed the way she was raised. The middle child of middle class business owners Kristen Finklehimer and Beck Ripley, Fiona grew up the same way her brothers did; pushed into the world of child acting by no choice of their own. The child acting industry was no place for a child to grow up- weekends that could have been spent with friends or grandparents were spent practicing lines, getting fake tans, and missing out on birthdays. Being raised to swarm the spotlight savored Fiona's need for attention, but strained her relationship with her family, specifically her brothers. Feeding into her parent's fantasy put her at the top of the Christmas list, sparking bitter rivalry between the Ripley siblings. No amount of family therapy could unpack that baggage.
It wasn't until grade school that Fiona actually made friends with kids that weren't her competition. Back then she was still geeky little Fiona Finklehimer, pigtails and braces and a terrible overbite that seemed to scream nerd. Back then it was easy to make friends, when nothing much mattered other than what cartoons were gonna be on when you got home. Everything was so simple back then, performing concerts in front of animal plushies and singing along to the songs on the radio. But things wouldn't stay simple for long.
It's easy not to see the bigger picture as a kid and to look at the world through rose-colored glasses. Nothing prepares a kid for the acceptance of death, especially at ten years old. It took losing her youngest brother to realize that. It took losing Foster to begin to bring this broken family back together again, but this time with one less family member. Fiona and her older brother Fran eventually set aside their differences, and even though he's currently in college and Fiona is juggling school with singing and dancing lessons, the two siblings try to call in to check on each other at least once a week.
The last thing Fiona expected out of school was joining a girl group- show choir was one thing, but song and dance was another. It took Ripley a while before she fully gave into the idea. Finding a place in the group has been a journey of bad break ups and bad decisions, all of which she isn't sure what she regrets more. The last thing she expected to come out of it was fame, yet alone all of the attention she received from it. She insists it isn't going to her head, but then again, she's never been a convincing liar.

They say God doesn't pick favorites, but something about Blair seems to scream total package. Some people say it's too good to be true, no one can be that perfect. It's easy to take Blair for what he is at face value; a pretty boy with a pretty voice, all sideways smiles and sacrosanct sarcasm. To the rest of the world, Blair Reed is untouchable.
The same can't be said for Blair Ottowitz.
Blair is one of those guys that you may be automatically averse to, caught in a web of playing a part and keeping up appearances. Despite what the tabloids say, labelling Blair as the boy band world's "Biggest Bad Boy", bad boys don't get into tickle fights with their band mates. Behind false confidence and full-force charisma is a guy trying to do right by his friends, even if it means risking his image. A teenage boy through and through, he reacts first and thinks later, but he always means well. When he isn't trying so hard to be someone he isn't, it's easy to see why Blair is the unspoken leader of the group. He puts his boys before anything, especially himself.
In every definition of the word, Blair is a realist, fondly blunt and never one to sugar-coat it. He's a homebody, and the most extroverted introvert you'll ever have the chance to come across. Although it takes some warming up to, Blair’s dry humor cuts thorough some of the shittiness that comes from long practice runs and even longer performance days. That’s not to say he isn’t bitchy, but he has a high tolerance for shenanigans until they start to affect his sleep schedule. It’s not surprising to find him nodding off in the recording booths at four AM, but he's no stranger to all-nighters. A true workaholic at its finest, Blair doesn't stop at something until he gets it right.
Sarcastic remarks and perfectionistic tendencies aside, Blair is a lot more sensitive than he looks. He doesn't open up to just anyone, but when he does, it's clear he cares a hell of a lot more than he lets on. (He's made the band swear never to bring up the time he sobbed watching Brokeback Mountain.) Albeit emotionally constipated, he's the kind of guy to wear his heart on his sleeve, and has a bad habit of putting too much trust in people. Although this usually blows up in his face, that doesn't stop him from getting back up and trying again.

the beginning
Arwen and Lisa Ottowitz were your picture perfect suburban couple. The two dated early in middle school and late into college, but the timing never felt right. They were both in two very different stages of their lives; Lisa starting graduate school and Arwen being offered a teaching job 300 miles away from their home town. With distance came time, and the two ended their relationship on good terms. As fate would have it, the former love birds reconnected later in life- at their high school reunion, and nine months later, they tied the knot. As recent homeowners who had finally settled down in their forties, children almost seemed out of the question. Still, the couple held out hope.
Growing up with older parents was never an issue for Blair. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for his thirteen-year-old sister, Melanie. As a kid, you never notice the strange looks people give you on the street, or the passive aggressive twinge in their voice when they ask "Is this one yours?" Regardless of what the neighbors thought, their parents did everything in their power to give their kids a normal childhood they deserved, and showed up for every one of Mel's choir concerts or Blair's swim meets. Nights spent around backyard campfires and garage radios are some of Blair's favorite memories.
Music has always been a part of Blair's life, in some small aspect or another. Outside of teaching English, Arwen worked part time as a musical theatre teacher for the middle school. Although Melanie was always the more musically inclined of the two siblings, always jumping from one aspiration to another, Blair has taken the backseat of many of his father's projects, whether he wanted to or not. He's never been a fan of the limelight, in fact, he's actively tried to stay out of it. Never auditioning for the lead role, always settling for helping his peers practice their lines and learn their stage cues. Singing and stardom has never really been his dream.
The last thing Blair wanted was to be in a boy band, especially after he was reluctantly appointed leader. It's taken some adjusting, but it hasn’t been easy, leaving home and staying at the Palmwoods. With his parents and sister still back in Minnesota, homesickness is a given. But he's started to get the hang of it, it'd just be great if he never has to work with these chicks again.
