xxx ► Yuuki grew up in a small-but-loving home with just his single, working mother and his older brother. In all honesty, they struggled financially, a fact that Yuuki was aware of from a young age. His way to counter their struggles was to focus hard on his studies and become as self-sufficient as possible. And, he was successful. Always at the top of his class. In his mind, if he did well in school, he could get a scholarship to university without burdening his family. ​

xxx ► All this continued up through high school, but just when time came to start thinking about college applications, his mother was hospitalized. Yuuki dropped everything and found himself a part-time job to help support their family and help to pay his mother's medical bills. All thoughts of going to college disappeared as he devoted all of his time to caring for his mother. Because of his mother's illness, he was inevitably unable to go to college, and began working full time, along with his brother, to cover costs.​

xxx ► Just recently, however, his mother passed away. Yuuki now feel at a bit of a loss, because the thing he had spent the last several years of his life focused on is now gone. Dismayed, he turned to his older brother, who then revealed that he was moving in with his girlfriend, leaving Yuuki to fend for himself. Sensing his younger brother's panic, he suggested Yuuki try out some sort of dating or friend-finding app. Because he was so hyper-focused on school, and then work, Yuuki has been unable to form concrete bonds with people. His brother still worries, but tries to keep his distance, so that Yuuki can come out of the shell he's built around himself.​
