  Jamie's mother, Lana O'Brien, came from a well-known pureblood Irish wizarding clan. She was the only daughter of the clan head. She attended Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin. While at Hogwarts, she met John Kross. John was also an only child to a witch mother and muggle father. The two ended up marrying not too long after graduating. Jamie was born five years later.
  
  Before Voldemort's second rising, Lana worked as a potioneer and John as a herbologist. A years after Hogwarts and before Jamie was born, the two joined the Order of the Phoenix to fight back against the newly risen Dark Lord and his Death Eaters. Lana stopped taking on Order Missions briefly while pregnant with Jamie and a little after her birth. When Jamie was 9 months old, the Battle for Hogwarts occurred. Her parents did not survive the Battle.
  
  With no other family, Jamie was sent to live with Anne Littlewood, a close family friend of the Krosses and a former Order Member. There were still several Death Eaters at large and Anne decided to move her and Jamie to America.
  

  
  
  Jamie was raised by Anne and once she was old enough, was told the story of her parents. She attended Midwest School of Beastery and Natural Magics, excelling in her class's for Magical Beasts and Potions. During her last two years at Midwest School of Beastery and Natural Magics, she spent summers assisting her Magical Beasts teacher or interning at local menageries.
  
  After graduation, Jamie traveled to Europe for little over a year to work at a sanctuary. After a year, she returned to America and joined on at Lakeside. During her second year, Miss Anne had an accident leaving her in weak health most of the time. Jamie had the older woman move in with her to take care of her.
  
  Eventually, Jamie wants to be able to travel the world and raise awareness about magical creatures and the importance of protecting them like her role model, Newt Scamander.

  Metamphoragus
  Metamorphagus are extremely rare in the Wizarding World. At the start of the roleplay, there are roughly 36 in the entire world, spread out among nine different families. The Metamorphagus gift is passed down through an "inheritance" gene. Basically, a Metamorphagus' firstborn child is always another Metamorphagus. And all subsequent children are usually witch/wizards. Metamorphagus also cannot procreate with other Metamorphagus. If two of them get together they are unable to have children at all. And even if a Metamorphagus marries someone with the gift in their family line it can be somewhat tricky depending on how recently the Metamorphagus showed up.
  
  In terms of pureblood and blood status, Metamorphagus are highly sought after by pureblood families. They always have at least one Metamorphagus child and typically have other magical children as well. Now the Metamophagus families themselves are not all strictly speaking pureblood. They are known to marry half-bloods, half-breeds, muggles, etc.
  
  Metamorphagus are all considered biologically non-binary because their ability allows them to alter their anatomy at will. So they are referred to as Wix rather than a Witch or a Wizard. ( Now that's a biological term they can still choose to present themselves physically as a male or a female. They would just be considered a Male Wix or a Female Wix. Or if they don't have any particular binary attachment they are just plain Wix. )
  
  

  
  
  Gender & Equality
  Gender in the wizarding world would, in general, be less strict than it is in the muggle world. As there is no inherent roles/privileges attached to either males, females or non-binary wixen. For that matter, the same holds true of religion and sexual attraction as well. It doesn't matter if you are religious or not. It doesn't matter what your personal attraction is either.
  
  So for instance, if someone chooses to identify as Wix rather than a Witch or a Wizard it's not that huge of a deal. With Metamorphagus it's a bit tricky but that's just because of the limit of the English Language. In other languages, there is like a specific word for Metamorphagus gender and then there is a word for a more general nonbinary social gender.
  
  For this I figure we'll make it simple and say Wix is just the nonbinary gender-neutral version of Witch/Wizard.
