Fantasy { ᴵʸᵘʳᵒᶰ }[ᴼᴼᶜ ᶜʰᵃᵗ]

It is a little big. I took my thoughts on duchies from Crusader Kings II, where kingdoms usually contain 5-6 duchies, though it may be more than a fifth of the kingdom's size (assuming the land in the map is all of Heca).
France had 18 Duchies in the late Monarchist Period. The number of Duchies simply depends on the makeup of the Kingdom itself. More duchies mean more direct vassals for the King/Queen. Unless there were Archdukes or Grand Dukes which would alleviate some of this. A political map would be nice though, one that showed individual provinces and then which provinces were controlled by which Duchies.

Though really everything depends on the sheer size of the map. For example if Heca was the size of Russia, having 3-6 dukes would be bad because they'd be ruling over territories the size of modest nations. Whereas if Heca was the size of say Germany or France it would make more since to have less Dukes.

So, I've got a question, I'm guessing that an Earl holds lands equivalent to a Count i.e a single province or multiple small provinces , as such how much land would a viscount hold being on the scale of nobility higher than a Barron but lower than a Count/Earl?

Also , since my character is the Marshal of Gisal I'm thinking that he will have to be a direct vassal to the king and not under a Duke right?

A Viscount is a modified Count. It's a weird title in and of itself. The amount of land a Viscount holds is less than a Count but more than a Baron. Usually monarchs have what are called "Crownlands" these are typically Counts, Barons and Viscounts that belong directly to the territory the King/Queen oversees personally. So in all reality you would likely be under the direct vassal control of the King since you are Viscount and serving as Marshal. Which would also mean your land is likely close to the capital.

I'm having to spitball because the only person who can definitively answer these questions in the context of Iyuron would be Fennapples Fennapples

It is all good, wouldn't add more.

My most sincere apologies! I'm trying my best to make some time within the week.
I do believe most people who enjoy writing are patient by nature; that and I'm barely getting a few lines down myself.

However, I've seen people get good mileage out of a co-gm in these situations (for future reference).
Oh and Oberons Veil Oberons Veil seems on top of things....
but that's just my two cents. :hornswhistle:

It's really appreciated when you have little time to manage things.

Again, sorry for being so abscent.

So, I notice that half the player roles are made up of kings/queens. . .
I don't imagine that this will bode well for consistent player interaction, is there a planned workaround for this setup?

Although this roleplay is based of Nation-relationships rather than individual interactions, instances in which characters meet will be given throughout the story. Intermediary characters, such as the ones I will use, are essential to keep this plot to center in the solitude of each individual.

I'll be working on a political map for Iyuron, beginning with Heca, which is the largest nation (Alongside Gisal) to work with.

I've hosted before. Things along this line in particular so I tend to simply recall what I did then and see how it applies here. I also have the notifications enabled so it simply pings me whenever there is a response thus letting me be timely about replying. co-gming can be nice and all but at the same point it runs the risks of muddling the original world. Iyuron is Fennapples Fennapples creation so I really only know the same as everyone else here! :D
